"Records sales" generally means albums + singles.

Its kind of confusing in this day and age....especially with "singles artists" who run up the score with digital tracks. (as opposed to say Adele who sold 25 million albums yet is probably way behind in total "records")

That said. As much as I don't have much patience for Rihrih most of the time. I do believe she has had an impact on the industry. Whether it was for the better or worse.....is up for debate.
