this console is 100% black and white. with my guess is just like the controller, the upper part white with black all over and under the console.

I am sure marketers were parsing comments and querying all the pro and con to the color scheme.

I think it would look pretty cool with that color layout, but black on black, or black on silver like the devkit is also not out of the question. They will eventually have both, but which they launch with is still up in the air.

The famous devkit we all saw was Silver with Black highlights like past ones. The newer smaller devkit revision we have not seen but were told about, is all black with I believe silver highlights.

I'll take either or. May still not get it at launch depending on territory they are manufactured in.

You guys laugh, but...

I think going with purple is a bit different than white. White has proven to sell. Purple is just too much. Not only that, ps2 was absolutely killing it in sales when the gamecube came along. Then you had the beastly xbox that launched within a month of gamecube. There were just so many options, not to mention coming off n64s mediocre sales. While I think the purple color affected gamecube sales, I feel there were multiple factors that hurt the gamecube more than its color, and a white console is far less drastic.

Someone mentioned Gamecubes purple console so im going down memorry lane as one of my favourite console launches. Gamecube launch might be one of the most nostlgic launches for me. Dreamcast maybe 1st and PS2 next.

Gamecube Was my first midnight launch ( well I qued I myself while my mum was in the car ha )
The purple cool console And controller And boxes. That start up too
Luigi’s Mansion ( I was pissed off there was no Mario at launch, but I ended up loving Luigi’s Mansion)

And My little brother waiting up late on a school night but he wasnt allowed to watch for more than 5 minutes or Id have to pack it up.... ( he went to bed without complaining and thus I was allowed to play lol.... now he’s a PC Elitist on this forum somewhere )
