I have a good feeling about this one. Now that we're into September I bet we'll get price + release date + preorder date. Choo Choo!

I feel like they really need to have a terrible show to get me disappointed with just how low my hype is.

I wanna see something new, but even if that doesnt happen, I dont think I would care much.

Gonna go sleep now, when I wake up, its gonna be like 6 or 7 hours away from the presentation.

I'm easy to please since I don't hype myself up. I've enjoyed all of their shows so far(Xbox and PS). Looking forward to it! Demon's Souls is all I need!

Although super excited, I'm not getting my hopes up. If I prepare to be disappointed, anything better will be a nice surprise. Hoping to see the UI, price, release date and some new games! Am I right in thinking they'll be showing off the launch games and those within the launch window?

What disappoints me is that all new announcements like FF16 and Silent Hill are only going to get a pre-rendered teaser, a logo, and some placeholder release date, like "Coming 2022/2023".

That may be enough for some people, but it sucks that companies can rely solely on hopes and dreams to convince people to buy their stuff.
Final Fantasy XVI has been in development for four years now and a trailer with gameplay footage for Silent Hill (2021) has been made recently in order to replace the CG one that they had planned to use for the june event.

It is foolish to think that all we are going to see of these games would be a "logo in flames":

I'd care about the Final Fantasy speculation if Square Enix had been able to make a competent Final Fantasy game within the last few presidencies. Why get hyped up for their trash output? It'd be like hyping yourself up for a new Halo.

Its 45 minutes. I doubt anything new is gonna be shown apart from price and release date. Some UI.
After showing Ratchet, Demon Souls and Horizon, theres not gonna be much time....

It's always going to be an event, whether people admit it or not. No matter the outcome, mainline FF means that a AAA studio is spending tens of millions of dollars to try their hardest to make the most impressive JRPG they can possibly imagine. I'll always check it out, even if they stumble. There aren't a lot of other AAA JRPGs left.

It's 40 mins and they will show 1 minute per game so that's 40 games to look forward to baby!

This is such a strange thing to say. 40 minutes is plenty of time:

15 minutes of gameplay from 3 launch games.
5 minutes of real time trailers for two unannounced games.
5 minutes CG trailers for two unannounced games.
5 minutes on UI
5 minutes for price reveal & release date.
5 minutes spare.

Easy.

How long do you think those demos would be? Even if those demos were all 5 minutes each (which would be a very long demo) plus five minutes to reveal price and features, it would still leave 25 minutes left

Im just making myself not excited so I can be pleasantly surprised lol.
NormallY we get a hour + show and things like, random interview with indie developer or EA spokes person, 5 extra minutes on GTA And Cod each kills the timer

Not really expecting any real time killers and dead space seeing as its pre recorded so we arent really going to have execs or developers popping on to a stage with shitty jokes

Haven't seen the sun in over a week. Hope this event can lift my spirits some. Some FFXVI music would do the trick.

Just any new real next gen gameplay will do at this point

So far all we've seen from any next gen game is RnC, CoD and halo......

Hardly setting the world on fire.....

I live in Korea and this starts at 5am tomorrow. You bet your ass I’ll be up and ready to watch. I think this is the big blowout where all the big guns come out. It’s time!

Yeah. I hope so too. It is hard to say what my feelings/intuitions are about this event, but this has to be a good one. I think we are not going to get many new announcements, but focus on already announced games and obviously the PS5 price + release date + seeing the console "in the flesh".
