Well, damn. What can it play then? And what's a good converter software?

I always use Xvid4PSP, it has a PSP preset, gives a great quality and the final size is not a lot, 24 min episodes normally are 80-90MB.

Ok, I think I may need some help. I need to downgrade my psp 1000, but Its stuck on 6.10 (lent it to a friend and they upgraded it :/ ) I don't have the means of creating a pandora, and I currently don't have the funds to buy a new battery. How buggered am I, or is there a way of getting onto CFW that I haven't tried? I checked the OP in this thread, and didn't have any luck there :(

5.03 Prometheus-2 and 5.50 Prometheus-2 CFW patches are out.
I just installed the one for 5.50 Gen-D3.

This one is supposed to add or improve support for 6.30 encryption.
Not to be confused with Prometheus v1-v4, which were all reported by the system as "5.50 [or 5.03] Prometheus," this one shows as "5.50 [or 5.03] Prome-2."

Like before, it's a quick CFW patch and installs in about a second.

Can you go from v4 to 2?

So, today is Kingdom Hearts day.

Will I be able to stick the UMD in, rip it, and play it on Prometheus 5.50 v1-v4, or is there a per-game solution? I have a second OFW PSP so it's not a huge deal if I have to start playing on that, but I'd prefer the convenience.

One of the big things the original Prometheus managed to do was to make the JP version of KH finally playable on CFW. I suspect that we'll have no serious issues. It might be a good idea to ditch all four versions of the original Prometheus in favor of the just-released Prometheus-2. I installed it last night and haven't had any issues yet.

Do you have to have a certain firmware installed before upgrading to 5.50 Gen-D3? I think I'm still on one of the old M33 4. something.

There are some minimum requirements, yes. If the 5.50 Gen-D3 XGEN installer is failing, try updating to 5.00 M33 first.

Yep, that's what I did. Pretty sure you can go directly from 5.50 Gen-D3 to Prometheus-2 as well, though.

As a Plus member, I should be able to download the GoW demo tonight.
I'll tinker with it a bit and see if I can get it running.

While there are exploits for the newer 6.x OFWs, they don't provide the kernel-level access that installing CFW requires.

KH: BbS doesn't work with 5.00 M33-6 6.20 PRX

Game boots but stays on a black screen.

Playing the game on my Sisters ofw psp but I'll probably update(finally) to the GEN's

I knew you well M33-6(maybe tomorrow I'll wake up and go to Network Update and a new M33 CFW will be up x-x)

It works on 5.50 Prometheus-2. I'm playing it right now.

I'll be taking a stab at getting GoW working tonight, assuming it does become available via PSN to Plus members, as previously suggested.

I was able to get BbS working with Prometheus as well, but I keep getting an error message when trying to install the data. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Please help me out.

Installed and booted on Prometheus, watched intro movies and played first playable sequence. No problem.

Also works fine with RemoteJoy.

I just ripped the UMD to ISO on the memory stick and booted it that way.

I've never done that before, how is it done?

Also, having to rip my own UMD kind of defeats the purpose of buying a legit copy :/

It does... how? You buy a game (as you should), but then you get faster load times and better battery life by ripping it to and playing from the memory stick.

I use a program called UMDumper to do it.

Worked great, thanks.

I went to 5.0 M33 and then to 5.50 Gen-D3 and then finally installed Prometheus 4 on top of that. Easier and faster than I thought.

Is there a fool proof solution to get into PSN with 5.50 Prometheus? I can't seem to log-in. I also want to be able to play some PSP games online.

Doesn't the latest Prometheus thingie allow Peacewalker to work?
Yes, I play it using Prometheus (from the original disk BTW, I didn't tried from the MS because the game had istall and loading times aren't so long).

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
What's the latest thingy I should download to update my PSP to the latest thingy? My PSP is still at 5.50 GEN-B (full).

Unless there isn't any noise where you play, you can't hear the UMD's noise.

Prometheus-2, it looks like. No idea if you need to be Gen-D2 first to upgrade though.

works on Prometheus (Aeana actually suggested it to me, so also see her post immediately before mine in this thread)

I'll try it out, thanks.

Out of curiosity, does the 3000 feature the same kind of CFW that is available on the 2000, or are there extra measures that make it harder to crack?

I've been considering trading up my 2000 for a 3000, so I wanted to verify first.

Got it to work... sort of, it's telling me that I need to do a system update to get onto PSN now. Any way to bypass that?

so. I have a Phat that's still going strong but is showing its age. should I upgrade to a 2000 or a 3000? and how should I got about finding one that will allow me to do all the homebrew stuff I've been enjoying on my Phat w/ 5.00 M33-6?

Mejilan, can you link me to a post in the thread detailing how to get from 5.00M33-6 to 5.50 GEN-D3 and how to get it to the point where I can play Birth By Sleep on it? I just came home with my copy of KH:BBS and wasn't thinking about the fact that my PSP isn't ready for it :( :( :( I don't want to eat up anyone's time getting a whole new tutorial now or anything but if you could link me to a couple of guides that would be so awesome.

Those aren't moving.

Yeah, basically. I have a 2000 and a 3000 (Hannah Montana FTW) and in gameplay, the 3000 screen just looks worse. It doesn't help that my 3000 has the broken/recessed bezel, so it looks like there's a sticky mess of goo all around my screen. :lol

There's talk on Lan.st of a new VSH-level exploit being worked on that could potentially be tied to kernel-level access. It's unknown just yet if anything will come of it, but it could be something.
