Still dramatically cheaper than a real MSPD of the same size.

Can't tell ya how awesome 32GBs feels in my PSP...
On that note...

I wonder if Photofast would work with two 32GB SDHCs to make a 64GB card? I read earlier tonight that Sandisk's 32GB card is down to about $85 now. I haven't found anything online about anyone trying it yet.

Yeah, they have dropped in price substantially. I just ordered a new 32GB card from Amazon for my DS flashcart. Not about to order two more for my PSP, though! :lol
I'd imagine that it would. It seems like 32GB is some kind of (at least) theoretical limit for microSDHCs. Most DS flashcarts specifically mention support up to and including 32GBs. I imagine that they wouldn't list that limit unless there were something more to it than just pricing or availability.

Order two of them, test them first to see if it works, then use one in your DS flashcart, and another one and a 16GB card in your PHotofast so you end up with 32GB in your DS and 48GB in your PSP!

I'm not spending another $90 on capacity upgrades! Q4 is ridiculous as far as gaming and wallet raping are concerned! I needed to ditch 16GB for the DS since I've essentially reached the limit, EXCLUDING my GBA games, and will be well past the limit once this year ends. Now, with the 32GB card, I'll basically never run out of room, and can throw in my GBA, TG16, SNES, etc. games without worrying about running out of space.'

On the PSP-side, I could have 32GB, 48GB, or 64GB, and I still won't have nearly enough room to store everything at once, so I'm satisfied with the 32GB, and won't be upgrading it until the 32GB cards break the $40 barrier.

I'd not bother with memory stick pro duos, at this point. You've got one or two to use in case you need to flash CFW or unbrick. If you're looking for a cheap and easy solution to storing tons of games on your PSP, I'd hit up Amazon for the Photofast microSDHC to MSPD adapter, and pick up two Sandisk micro SDHCs to go with it. I've been using mine for around a year now, I guess. First with 2x 8GB SDHCs, now with 2x 16GB SDHCs.

A year ago, this solution was WAY cheaper than MSPDs. Not sure what the cost/benefit ratio is today, but I'd guess that it's still the cheapest way to go.

Heh, they're definitely cheaper, thanks for the tip. :D
So does that mean the PSP reads the two MicroSDs as one memory stick, or do they have separate icons on the menu? Doesn't matter to me either way, just curious. :p

Edit: Okay, I promise I'll shut up soon, but I do have another question. :p
If I were to buy a higher-capable battery (seen a couple official ones on Amazon), would they affect or be affected by the CFW? Just one of those impulse purchases really. :D

Perhaps they don't know about, or are having issues with PSNLover and/or the online enabling voucher redemption thing.
On Google, I find more mention of the online being basically empty and dead for the game.

Another question ! :p

ive been told that the 2000 unit is better for emulation than the 1000 ?

something to do with processor speed maybe ? i dont know, but ive been told that emulators perform better in the slim unit.

True ? false ?

Somewhat true, the 2000's got a 64MB RAM insted of the 1000's 32 MBs, so some arcade emulators don't need a prebuilt cache in the memory stick, not having it it saves a lot of disc space.

I don't know how the processor speed affect the emulators.

When you use the PhotoFast adapter, it lets you format the two SDHCs as if they were one Memstick. I've got two 8GB SDHCs in my adapter and the PSP treats it as if it were a single 16 GB Memstick.

GAF, what's this I heard that I don't need Pandora nor a Magic memory stick to install CFW on my TAv085v1 PSP? :O I already tested my PSP and it can create pandoras (used the XMB option on 5.50GEN, PSP won't boot unless I plug it in the charger, which means it's pandorzied).

http://pspslimhacks.com/easy-chickhen-custom-firmware-installer-without-pandora/
http://forums.pspslimhacks.com/tutorials/4711-tutorial-how-downgrade-upgrade-your-psps-ofw-cfw.html

-=( chickHEN 5.03 exploit Method )=-

This is only for fully hackable PSPs which are on 5.03 OFFICIAL FIRMWARE.
Attempting this on a PSP SLIM with ta-088v3 motherboard or PSP 3000 will result in a PERMA-BRICK

1. Run chickHEN R2/MHUSPEED v3

2. Download Hellcat's Recover Flasher ( see links )

3. Download 5.00 OFW file ( see links )

4. Rename it to 500.pbp & put it in the root of your MS ( where folders like PSP, MUSIC, VIDEO etc.. appear )

5. Start Hellcats Recovery Flasher & change Target FW as 5.00 firmware

6. Choose install cfw ( of the version selected above)

7. Done !! Now you are on 5.00 m33-6 !

1.) Is this a FULL CFWinstallation, like as if I'm using pandora+mms? Since it says my PSP needs to be fully hackable (which it is).

2.) If I use this, if I wanna go back to OFW, how can I downgrade to 5.03 without using pandora? It seems to be what is needed for ChickHEN? The guides I'm seeing is that I have to do ChickHEN->Hellcat->GEN to re-install GEN CFW.

What's the best way to organize the PSP Games folder? I have so much games, homebrew, and other stuff that it just seems unsightly to me? Any definitive programs out there?

Hey all. Just picked up Invizimals for one of my lil siblings and the game ripped fine and boots, but it doesn't seem to detect the camera. I also tried it via the UMD, and still nothing. Just wondering if there is a patch of some sort that is out that can get this working, although I do realize this just came out today =p

I shall keep looking in the meantime.

I hate to ask gaf to be tech support for me, but I have a problem with my psp. I picked it up today and suddenly it's not working. It was fine 2 days ago when I last touched it but now I can't seem to do anything with it. The power slide suddenly became loose like hell and I can't turn it on. I've tried the usual things like making sure the battery is fully charged and things and it won't start up. Even when I plug it into the computer the screen doesn't show up. Of course I can't send it into sony because no fixing systems that were hacked in any way. So, what do I do? My psp is a 2000 running 5.50-gen-D3. If anyone could help me out it would help. Thanks

Grab some drivers and open her up?
I had to perform a bit of surgery on my PSP to replace it's screen. It was scary at first, but we both survived!

Bubbletune's Game Categories plug-in.
Godly.
There's also a Hombrew Sorter homebrew app that works with it that allows you to sort the individual folders as well as the apps in 'em!

Thank you very much. It looks a lot better now.

One more question though.

Back when I was young and misguided, I owned a PSP Go. I've since disposed of it in favor of my current model, but during that time I purchased a fair share of content from the PSN. I redownloaded all those games off of Media Go so I could play them again. While searching for ways to make them compatible, I've seen people talking about this version.txt trick. Tried it, but nothing seems different, just another error code. I activated my PSP again through Media Go just to be on the safe side, but still nothing. Am I missing a plugin of some sort, or is it just impossible with my current CFW (5.50 Prometheus-2) at the moment?

I just got DJ Max Portable 3 in the mail, and it has 6.31 on the disk.
I have Prometheus 5.50.
When I try to boot the game, I get a red screen for a second, and then the memory stick icon flashes for a few seconds, stays solid red for a while, and my PSP shuts itself off.

What's going on?

EDIT:Never mind, found a fix. I just had to remove the memory stick before I boot up the game. I put it back in right afterwards and it works fine.

thinking of getting a PSP

I want to play PoP Forgotten Sands, almost the whole Ys series on that format. I do own a PS3. YAYA :)

But my question is which version of PSP should I get?

My local game shop has PSP 1000 with camera for 100 dollars. But I heard it can not connect with the HDTV. So that's out.

So it leaves me with PSP 2000 and PSP 3000. Which one should I get?

Basically I hope to do some homebrew, play games on my HDTV and use my sixaxis through blue tooth on the PSP to.

Does the PSP have hdmi out or anything cheap to allow it connect with the HDTV? Thanks. :)

You can only use sixaxis with the Go I think. Your best bet with hombrew is the 2000, but I think 3000 has homebrew as well, just don't turn it off.

I'd say, get a cheap 2000.

Maybe use the recent pricedrop on the go :lol

Does anybody know if the FuSa plugin can output 480p?If yes, how? I tried the plugin yesterday and it kept switching the tv-out signal to 480i, which looks bad on my tv.I am using the official Sony component cable.

If you want CFW then 2000 is your best bet. It's lighter than the 1000 and can output to your TV through component. As far as I know, there are no PSPs(including GO) that can hook up through HDMI.

I found a PSP 1000 for $55 so I went ahead and grabbed it and it had Firmware 5.03. Now it's time to install CFW on that bitch.

Do I still have to downgrade or can I go straight to install CFW 5.03 (I believe is the new one, I may be wrong) with that Chickenexploit?

PSNLover should allow you to bypass any issues you're having with PSN access, both from the XMB as well as in-game.

Only FusaHD does that (FusaSD is 480i only). You could only get FusaHD by donating on their main page, but the last update either the page or the Fusa plugin got was back in 09.

I recently threw money at them to see if they would update my account so I could have access to FusaHD, but nobody answered and now I'm out 2 usds.. :D

I think it's safe to say Fusa is dead.

Worked wonders, as it was the only way for me to download the KZ3 theme to get into beta, during class!

I have never been able to get PSNLover to work. What am I doing wrong here?

PSP1000, Running "5.50 Prometheus", PSNLover beta 1.2

Placed psnlover.prx in /seplugins/
Placed the following in vsh.txt and game.txt: ms0:/seplugins/psnlover.prx 1

Booted into Recovery
Recovery -> Plugins: Enabled psnlover.prx [VSH] and .. [GAME]
Recovery -> Configuration -> Fake region (Debug Type I) (also tried America)

Anything I click on in the store still throws "An error has occurred. (80551001)"

Edit: Nevermind.. I never bothered to try clicking download again after the errors.

Ok Hi guys I wonder if you guys discuss psp hardware too? I opened up my psp today to replace a faulty analog stick and was successful but now I have no circle button pushing X gives me X and O pushing [] gives me [] and O and pushing Triangle gives me Triangle and O. anyone know why that might be?

Maybe you tighten too much the screws on the back. Try to loose them a little and check.

Ok. I have a new old psp (psp 2000-MG 3.80 out of the box) and 2 pandora batteries (one i brought (tool) and one i had made last time I had to mod a psp. Quick question:

Is their custom firmware available for the PSPgo?

With the price drop I'm considering one - but not with the shackles Sony has put on their stupid store.

If so - any resources you guys can point me to?

You're usually supposed to hold a button as the PSP comes on to boot it in service mode. It's usually the L Trigger if I recall. Give that a try.

FuttBuck said:
I believe it's the R trigger

The R Trigger is for Recovery Mode if a CFW is already installed on the PSP. Some programs let you choose the buttons which is why I'm not quite sure what will boot that PSP into Service Mode.

3 questions:

1. I'm on Dark Alex 5.00 m33-3. Do I need a Tool battery to get up to date?

2. Any chance with Gen B I will be able to play the new God of War?

3. If not, do I need a tool battery to go back to OFW?

Edit: Found this posted earlier, so it looks like for question one, I'm ok...

Still curious about the others since I haven't been paying much attention to my PSP.

Edit2: Wondering if I should just update to m33-6 and Prometheus like this guy?

Quoted for relevance. I'm wondering the same thing.

I'm sure there's a guide of some sort in the last dozen or so pages, but if there's a quick answer to this I would love to know.

To answer both of your questions, yes. M33-Prometheus is just fine. I've been using it since that last post and have not had any issues yet. As far as Ghost of Sparta goes I know it works with Prometheus so you shouldn't have any issues with playing it. And you don't need a Tool Battery to go back to OFW. Just download the update and go. I wouldn't at this time suggest it because no game I know of is dependent on it at this time.

I was just curious about the OFW situation in case there was some reason I wanted to switch back in the future. Thanks!

To be honest he'll sort of need to release it on 6.31 anyway, even if Sony don't release a new firmware (unlikely as it is) - there are already games in the wild such as GOW that are using 6.31.

Did you do something in Flash0? Try switching off some XMB plugins, if that doesn't work then try to reset default settings. If even that doesn't work just re-install firmware through the recovery menu.
