Unless you have a PSP 3000 or PSP Go, there's really no reason to use anything other than Prometheus firmware.Sagitario said:So... for PSP 2000... is Prometheus-4 the best option?
New games need some kind of patch or something?
YsI&II should arrive this weekend

I NEED SCISSORS said:Does it support Popsloader? If not, kind of pointless.
I've read "plugins during PS1 games", but I can't be sure exactly what that means.
Wario64 said:Is there a way to get psone psn games to run without going to ofw? I'm on 5.50 prome-2. Gives me error when I try to run a game
I get error code CA000005 when trying to run Vargrant Story
jling84 said:Full support of PS1 games. This makes Pro-B2 obsolete.
I NEED SCISSORS said:I'll believe it when I see it - I don't see it supporting any more games than Pro-B2. Unless it has Popsloader and/or been tested with the few problematic titles (Chrono Cross, Xenogears), I expect the same level of compatibility. Hell, he's even been bitching for weeks about how the Pro team stole his code (ie. it will be the same).
Wario64 said:Anyone? I'm on PSP-1000 btw. I haven't touched my PSP much lately
^^ is that newest release compatible with 1000?

jling84 said:I thought Pro-B2 wouldn't let you switch popsloader emus? I'm assuming TN-D does? If so it will definitely have more compatibility than Pro-B2.
I NEED SCISSORS said:It doesn't, and from that comes the big question of whether TN-D will or not.
If it does, it will be better; if it doesn't, it will be pretty much the same.
jling84 said:I hope so ::fingers crossed::
If Total Noob didn't put that feature in he's being disingenuous when he says it's "Full PS1 support".

Minsc said:Looks like my guess earlier was incorrect, Vagrant Story booted and played great on Prome-4.
Wario64 said:Cool, I guess I'll just need to update my stuff then. Thanks. I'm guessing Xenogears should work too (though I haven't tested that one yet)
Minsc said:It appears to work fine as well, no error codes or issues during the initial 15 minutes.
Kuran said:PSP Go! dropped to 130USD on Amazon.
Is it comfortable to use CFW on them these days? I mainly use Picodrive and Snes9X. Does the memory stick from my PSP3k work with it?
Edit: Poo, only the black one lowered in price for now..
Kuran said:Does the memory stick from my PSP3k work with it?
B.K. said:No. The Go uses a proprietary format that Sony came up with for the Go. It has 16GB of built in memory though.
JackEtc said:Hey guys, I have a question, sorry if it's a stupid one.
I'm thinking about getting a portable system before going to PAX East. The DS appeals more to me game-wise, but all the custom firmware stuff (along with the ability to play SNES / NES games) of the PSP has me interested.
My question is to you guys:
If I was to buy a PSP-3000 right now on Amazon, would I have any trouble with getting custom firmware on it, or has it been patched out?
What If I was to get a PSPGo? Could I still do it?
Thanks in advance.

I NEED SCISSORS said:Yeah, I think i'm going to just go back to the 2000 for my PS1 fix. The implementation of Pops has been terrible in both TN-D and Pro.
With 3000, you can go HEN, maybe TN-D or Pro even. I'm not sure about the newer cfw like TN-D or Pro on the Psp go though.JackEtc said:Hey guys, I have a question, sorry if it's a stupid one.

5.50 Gen Prom-4 supports pops. M33 works too, but it hasn't been updated in a really long time. Sad that neither TN-D or Pro does. Was looking forward to TN-D too.jling84 said:Damn sad to hear about both TN-D and Pro not supporting Pops. I have a hacked 2000 as well. How's the compatibility rate for PS1 games on the 2000? Also which firmware would you go with? I think I have that m33 something one.
I want to play Final Fantasy Origins damn it! FF2 on FF Origins does not work on the PS3!!
