I have the same problem too. Did you check Qriocity?
Also seems they cut down the number of PSPs you can tie to 4 from 5.

Yeah I checked Qriocity and it said that. I just checked and it's still 5, because I have 5 registered even though I only own 3 PSPs!

Can someone remind me how to rip umd games to my memory stick? I have Ridge Racer I want to get on my memory stick but I'm having trouble. I put USB mode into UMD disc under the vsh menu, but I can't seem to explore the umd disc on my PC when I plug my PSP in.

Did you make sure to go and enable USB connection from the XBM?

Also, certain plug-ins can prevent you from ripping UMDs. I've had a few plug-ins that wouldn't let me access the UMD. Even if I changed the USB Mode to UMD, I kept getting the memory card.

Try using the UMD Dump plugin. There's a 6.20 test version that works fine even on 6.35 pro. You install it like any other plugin and then simply press the Home button over the UMD in the xmb, then wait for the memory stick access light to stop.

Remember to turn off auto-sleep in the menu when doing this, though.

Anybody have issues with RemoteJoyLite?

It's freezing the whole psp when I go to the save screen in Legend of Heroes. What's odd is it worked once, then has refused to work since.

I had this problem with Star Ocean First Departure, and changing the transfer type fixed it. However, it has no effect this time with Legend of Heroes.

My bro bought a pandoras battery and made a magic memory stick. He put the battery and MMS in and nothing happens. Can anyone help?

Its a PSP 2001 TA-81 or lower. With firmware 6.37.

Does the battery turn on the PSP when its inserted into the system? He may also need to hold down some button on the PSP to boot off of the memory stick (some of the MMS I've made required me to press up on the d-pad for example).

Doesn't work.

Has anyone tried to play Live-a-Live through the SNES emulator? When I try to play it on my PSPgo, the system freezes and all I see is a black screen with red lines. I need to play this game according to GAF!

Try holding the L button when starting the PSP with the battery and memory stick. I think the L button is the default button you have to hold to get it to boot into the menu.

It sounds like the battery isn't even turning the system on.

ShdwDrake, does the battery look like this

psp_pandora_battery.jpg

or this

Pandora-Battery-for-PSP.jpg

A pandora battery will cause the PSP to autoboot even if the memory stick isn't in the system. It doesn't sound like its doing that.

Is the battery even charged?

Note that the battery could look like anything. It is very easy to make any battery into a pandora battery and back.

So I got my copy of The 3rd Birthday today and unsurprisingly it asked me to upgrade my firmware to at least 6.20. Im currently on 5.50 GEN-D2 so what upgrade path should I use to get to a newer CFW to be able to play it

Is there a list of 6.xx UMDs that will work on CFW, like 5.50 GEN?

I can't check it right now, but I heard someone claim that Tactics Ogre UMD works on CFW.

So what's the latest stable CFW for a PSP-2000? I've been out of the loop for too long. :(

Currently I'm on 5.50 Prometheus, can't remember what revision though.

I have 6.35 Pro-A running on my Go and all is well. Is there any reason to upgrade to Pro-B? Not so much worried about PS1 support, but I did just order an M2 card. Does Pro-A not support M2 cards? And (stupid question) how would I upgrade from Pro-A to Pro-B? Do I remove the Pro-A files & install the Pro-B ones?

Thanks in advance.

Just move the PRO-B files to your PSP, run the installer. After rebooting you use the fast recovery made for that release and you're golden.

I have a PSP2000, currently running 5.50-Prometheus4. Works great, except I can't play any games downloaded from PSN (downloading through my PS3, then copying to the PSP). What's my best option to maintain CFW and PSN game compatibility?

Me too :(

I got the same problem, and I´m using now 6.35 pro b3 works great and all my psn games work <3

Hey, could you link me to where I can find a reliable site with the stuff I need? Too many sites now that can have harmful files. Gonna try some sites, else Ill come here again.

Just bought Gladiator Begins off PSN and I cant play it....my most wanted PSN PSP game!!

EDIT: um am I reading some tutorials correct? You have to update to OF 6.35 and run basically a softmod that enables "CFW 6.35 pro b3" features? WTF. Hope not.

Edit2: ok no go after tons of searching and messing with my PSP. These are the things I did:

1. Get PSN fucker/lover. Ok I can access the psn store and dl shit. Who fucking cares! I want to play my game! No need for online access nor PSN store. I thought somehow accessing the store and signing in, my purchased game on CFW PSP would work. Nope. I dl a mini directly from my PSP and still won't boot.

2. Updated to CFW 5.50 prome-4 from prome-3 version. Read it improved compability. Nope game don't boot.

3. Installed a prx called m33_6.20 or some shit and edited version.txt and all that. Nope still nothing worked. All it did it make the loading light(when it's readying file) flash twice instead of once but it boots me back to xmb.

4. Looked at some np decryptor shit from advice. Apparently you can strip drm off games. Sadly I found one but the directions mean monbo jumbo to me. Not sure how to do it and will need some guides.

Anyhow if some one could shed some light to my issue and maybe point me to te right way, I'd appreciate it. I just want to play a psn game I bought. All the stuff I came across was to get you to be able to play new umds and shit but that's not helping me. Sucks. Also the game apparently needs OF 6.10 to run based on the demo that some guy tested online. Not sure that helps you guys.

Sorry if this question has been asked already but this thread is huge. xD

Anywhos I wanted to download PSP Custom Firmware 6.37 ME v7 off the psp-hacks site. I think currently my psp is Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3. I will have to confirm when I get homes.

I can't emulate anymore or play any of the latest stuff so I wanted to update. Do I need a pandora battery and Magic Stick to do this?, or can I just download the files and update following some steps etc?

I just pre-ordered Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection so i want to be set to play when it arrives on April 22. Otherwise I will just get a new psp.

I blame Ephemeris for leaving town so he is not around to help. Also for setting up my psp last year to play grand turismo 5 without telling me it would break my emulation O_O.... Yea Bro what up with that xD.

No seriously though this is my first time trying it on my own so any help would be appreciated : D.

Edit: I am running 5.50 Gen-B Full.

Does anyone know where I can get the most up to date cheat app for PSP

Also is it worth updating from CFW 5.50 Gen-D3 Prom 4, I have a PSP 2000 by the way.

Is there a way to install a cfw on a pal psp go with fw 6.35 installed on ?

And it's not really a problem since it takes 5 seconds and you can just put the PSP in sleep mode after activating it.

cw_sasuke, if your PSP has the ofw 6.35 you can install the cfw 6.35 Pro-B, it's a famous cfw and you can find a lot of tutorials on youtube.

Im confused it looks like a 6.20PRO and 6.35pro is coming out perma CFW as well. I guess 6.20 was the best one to stay at in the end.

I've tried reading though what's been going on recently with all of this, but I'm still a little confused.

I have a PSP-1000. I'm on OF 6.35, have this "635 HEN" thing that I start up when/if I want to do non-official firmware stuff.

Just tried playing my purchased-from-PSN digital version of Phantasy Star Portable 2, tried to go online, said I need the newer firmware. Checked, said 6.37 is out.

What solutions (if any) do I have for getting PSP2 online while also keeping the ability to do custom firmware-type stuff?

Recent compatibility woes have made me decide that I'm going to finish my CWCheat-enhanced playthrough off War of the Lions (so that I can have my Balthier properly augmented with the Assassin skillset as a secondary), then go back to OFW. Sigh. It's been real, CFW PSP, you incredible PSX game-playing, SNES-emulating wunderkind :(

I had a few issues with PSN versions of some games with CFW, so I'd stay away from it if you don't want to bother.
I use 6.35 HEN just for booting ISOs I made with my UMD games but I'm upgrading to 6.37 if a game needs it.

Don't you have things like PSNLover? That's how I used to play online on a CFW PSP.

EDIT: Seems you need to download a 6.35 PRO "B" version of HEN to play online, you can get it here.

Have you tried PRO-B4? It was just released and has improved compatibility.

Is that improved for PSP or PSone? I've met a lot of PS1 games I couldn't play, but very few PSP games. (And FF Tactics could be either)

I'm bumping these questions because that's exactly what I'm looking for too.

I would like to have CFW that lets me run Tactics Ogre and Trails in the Sky off the UMD, but also let me choose a popstation version so I can run my PS1 games that don't work with the latest revision (like Xenogears).

Am I shit out of luck, or is there a solution?

Improved for PSP. I believe PS1 emulation is better on PRO-B4 than on TN-D.

Don't know how much I can help but I'll try. So far I've bought Disgaea (PSP), Castlevania Chronicles (PSX) and Field Runners (PSP) off of PSN. I've been able to copy Disgaea to my PSP 1000 CFW and all three to my PSP Go from my PS3. They work fine since my two PSPs are activated from the PS3. Now if I try to copy the other two from my Go to my PSP 1000 they won't work.

So even with CFW, I don't think you'll have a problem as long as you copy it from your PS3 to the PSP, the PS3 will activate the games before copying to your PSP. Now if you want to strip the DRM you'll need NPDecrypter. It's pretty easy to use (let me know if you need some help after reading the readme.txt that comes with it), but as far as I know it will only work with PSP games and not Minis or PSX games from PSN.

So far I've only used it with Patapon 2 and Disgaea but no problems with either. Now if Gladiator Begins is a recent game and requires a higher firmware you might encounter problems but I'm not sure. Hopefully though if you just copy it from your PS3 (where your PSPs are already registered to) you won't have any more problems.

Thanx for the advice. I'll look into it more this week as I'm gonna be Lil busy after work.

Anyways just bought a PSPgo off eBay with fw6.20. I plan to hopefully play the few psp PSN games off that without any real hacking and light homebrew with TN-C. I read there is a perma 6.20 pro-b CFW so I'll look onto that later.

As for my PSP1000, I did hook it up to my ps3 and transfer Gladiator Begins right off it so I'm sure it's not the license thing or idk. Maybe my CFW is just outdated. I did try the NPDecryptor thing but I always get some long ass error on the screen within said app and just tells me to press x to go back. I read what the issue could be and led me to post about the game had to be purchased/valid license which I do have. So I left it at that for now.

When I get more time, I'll come back and post other findings. I want to get my CFW psp1000 running my PSN games eventually. Thanx again.

Bonus q: if I update my psp1000 to OF 6.20 and install 6.20cfw pro-b, any way to downgrade back to m33 or DGen CFW later on w/out a pandora battery? Would Hellcats' (I think that's the right name) downgrade work or no?

Just use 6.20-TN-D. You can make it perma by futzing with the flash0:/ (not recommended, but...) if you're that anal. I lost 5.55-GEN-D3 but gained updated PSX emulator/POPs while losing none of the things I used CFW for (CWCheat, etc.).

No need to buy a PSPGo for that man. :/

Ah too late bro!!! Oh well, wanted one for collections sake anyways! Got it for a decent price since I used some groupon codes I bought like 2 weeks ago.

Anyways yea I'll update my old CFW I guess but it I fear doing it since homebrew capability is always lost. Like m33 CFW had better compability than GEN CFW(what I have) lost tons of homebrew stuff that I could run. That's what's holding me honestly. I could care less about UMD games since I plan to buy off PSN from now on and thinking CFW 6.20 still having issues running bought games off the store held me back too.

If CFW 6.20 can let me run some homebrew and bought PSN games, I'll jump in. Pops games don't really care for nor umds.

You made the right decision. Now that it can actually pretty much play everything, the Go is the best handheld out there.

Problem Exists Between Coder and Updates.

AKA: Not a CFW problem. More an "we've abandoned this project LOLOL" problem. I'm sure most anything you use is probably updated for the firmware you choose now.

the Go is the best handheld out there.

Except for the fact that anything it does, the PSP-1000/2000/3000 can do as well. (well, with the minor exception of some things like PS3 controllers)
