Puzzle & Dragons |OT4| Co-op Edition: Stoning With Friends

So checking padx for Myth+ the risks for Mzeus is floors 3 and 4. Dios hits for a guaranteed 31k, floor 4 will either be a 9634 hit or a 15268 hit. So 1 full heal and 1 partial would be needed barring Raphael being available. Satan is recoverable, Beelz is more challenging.

Straitos could be an issue with his combo shield to as a potential point of failure. If we use A. Panda I'll probably run with A. Yomi since I don't trust my combo skills.

M Zeus team I'm planning on running:
MZeus
Baal (Multiboost, rows, useful active)
Raph (Rows, auto heal, Elia insurance)
Xmas Archangel (delay Straitos, or heal up from Dios/floor 4)
Apoc (Beelz insurance, or straitos combo facilitator)

Admittedly short on skill boosts but ideally we'd only need to use any skills once. Raph is probably replaceable since I'm a little short on skill ups.

For Pandora I'd run
A. Pandora
A. Yomi (Time Extends, pseudo burst Straitos counter)
Akechi (Because damage)
Zuoh (Beelz counter, burst option)
D Valk (RCV and short cooldown)

If I had xmas Lilith I'd probably slot her in as delays seem real useful here. Dvalk could probably be swapped for another orb changer, maybe Cecil or A. Anubis as ways to clear hazards to save Zuoh for the end.

Combo shield with MZeus sounds painful. Hardly any fingers on MZeus teams. A. Panda sounds easy enough. I've got a pretty standard team. Plus I could always just throw on A. Orochi if we really need a delay. My combo'ing is definitely improving, but I'd probably need to use actives to get a good board anyways.

I'll def be down to give it a shot. I'll look it over this afternoon.

Jor co-op is pretty good. Max skilled mine and getting a good amount of plus eggs. A lot easier to do in co-op, since the skill delay from echidna really doesn't matter.

Are there any good coop setups for Z8 that don't use Machine Zeus or Machine Hera? I don't have either one. Preferably with A Pandora, A Lucifer, or Yomi Dragon.

Edit. I forgot about Z8 only taking 1/2 damage from dark so are there some good non-dark coop teams? I'll eventually get A Lui Bei ready.

If you are going co-op it should be no problem for APanda, even on Mythical+. Just inherit or bring along a damage multiplier and you are good to go. The key floors are
3: Poison, then stall 10 turns
8: Poison
10: Luci protected by SDR or Inherited skill
11: Use buff then kill 2nd turn

So ideally one player has Luci and buff, the other has poison and multiplier.

I have good light subs but no Thor or Saria. I just tried soloing the easier difficulty with double Awoken Venus and it went great (should have used Awoken Apollo instead of regular Valk). I killed floor 9 with Raphael + Valk + Venus and the shield blocked the first hit from Z8 first form. 75% resist to light, dark, and water makes stalling pretty easy.

A full enhanced board did over 4.5 million light damage for the kill.

The +297 Hera dungeon is in JP today. I'm not sure which is harder, this or the Zeus one. Hera took me 3 tries to get to her, getting used to the ten floors. Then her preemptive killed me. Used a stone and one shot her. Don't know if she has any other weird shenanigans after the preemptive, but I would assume so since Zeus did.

So with my You Yu team I can pretty easily do both with 1 stone. If I clear the locked orbs properly on Zeus can no stone it. Can probably no stone Hera as well with a proper shield for the preemptive. But I don't mind using a stone for an instant +297.

Since this was in the special tab like Zeus was in the past, I think we could get the dungeons in NA. I hope so.

Pretty sure Zeus+297 is harder, because I actually beat Hera+297 and barely made a dent in Zeus. Took Bacetet in, died to Hera pre-empt, then added a Thief into the party. Took a few tries but eventually I made it through without having to stone.

Nice, I have enough orbs to buy it, so I'll probably try to inherit a shield before I buy it.

How is ace bastet anyway?

Disgustingly high damage potential but very orb hungry, and sometimes luck dependent. A lot of team comps have multiple full board changers due to needing 3x green matches to trigger the new part of the leader skill.

Is there a worthwhile outlet for high-end evo materials I can't even use? I've got nine Ancient Sacred Blue Masks, seven Green Dragon Fruit, plus a whole bunch of others I can't do anything with because I lack the means to acquire key ingredients (aka I can't beat Descended dungeons) and they're just taking up more and more box space.

You can look up descended carnival and see if any of the mats you need are in there. It is generally easier than descends.

Edit: Oh you meant what to do since you have so many. You can sell them for very little mp, some of them have decent exp to level up your cards. But make sure that you keep any that are on a rotation to skill up one of your cards.

Or buy more box space. It's never a waste imo.

So apparently Myth+ is the only level of Ultimate God Rush with guaranteed drops. That said, Zuoh-->Panda -->A. Yomi is a pretty solid way to deal with combo shields.

Final Stream Rewards:

3 tamadras by mail
4 pii gift dungeons (stone for clear) - Fixed pii per dungeon; all colors but green (Shohei's epic choke on failing to match a single TPA likely was the missing Woodpii)

3xHanuman done.

1 for collection, 1 for Agni, 1 for A Indra.

Evolving them is another matter. Already have all the mats except 2 Gaia. Finally running out of green jewels and need to farm them, and a dozen of green keepers. What a pain in the ass.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Oh cool rewards...looking forward to those Piis. Would have liked Woodpii for Liu Bei though.

Ha...thanks for pointing that out - completely forgot that he is Evo material so i got myself 2 more copies for down the line. Evolving him is quite the effort in it self though...ouch.

- going through another PAD lull - I can't seem to want to play, so I guess I'm on a little break but still logging in for stones

- I was going to run the new dungeon and it said no dupes - so for the first time I was just kind of like - not gonna bother switching out my second uriel - so much for that dungeon

- plus haven't bothered running the challenge dungeons or exp of a lifetime - would only be a small fraction of the exp I need to level at this point so feels so useless. "lifetime" HA!

- talk about lazy.

My nephew discovered diablo 3 RoS - I haven't touched it since 2012, but its oddly similar to PaD with each set and set dungeons - its itching my grindy loot need for the moment - and notably so much CHEAPER.

I co-oped with my alt and used Yomi Dragon, was really easy. I remember struggling with this dungeon when it was in JP.

So I used XM for Hanuman. That was...time consuming.

Just need two more I guess.
Hanuman the long way https://imgur.com/gallery/qXWF3

I beat him on XM as well, only took 15 turns or so though.
XM/Echidna/Uriel/Gadius/NY Mitsuki/XM.

3 orb fire, 2 heart matches, + 1 off color combo does low enough in green to not heal. Once he was in blue, it's a lot easier, just delayed and activated 81x with only one fire combo a few times.

Only reason it took that long was because of skyfalls.

Attempted Zaerog Infinity for the first time yesterday, as part of the new rogue descend rotations.

What was I afraid of, exactly?

The dungeon was silly easy outside of Zaerog's first form. 2x HP really trivializes the early part of the dungeon, where the threat of being extremely low level is greatest. Starting the dungeon with ~32k HP makes early stalling for skllls when needed silly easy. Reaching Zaerog's damage threshold for his first form also takes much of the threat out of the dungeon.

Oddly, tank teams were a plus on Hanuman as well. Had no problem stalling out his hits for skills to come back up. Downgraded to using a standard Norsebound pairing to ensure staying under the damage threshold, even when on color advantage. Strangely easy for a new descend.

Or of course, there is the even sillier multiplayer cheese option. Weaker team goes first and eats the 10 turn delay, then passes to Team 2. Team 2 fires off a delay and then goes to town on Hanuman with unencumbered skills, without a threat of rage mode activating.

Max skilled Chiyome. I found a coop partner on Discord and finished in 8 runs of Fire Carnival Int.

Co-op has made farming skill-ups so much more tolerable. I'm having a hard time doing anything in single player these days since co-op is such a better deal. What's your plan with Chiyome? I have a skilled one rotting in my box, used to use her on my terrible Urd team.

If anyone wants to co-op Zeus-Dios tomorrow, just let me know. I'm going to be around all day and skilling up a ton of them.

I'll use Chiyome on my Raoh team, she makes a great combo with Awoken Leilan.

I'll probably do some Dios coop runs tomorrow.

Nordis sucks with a green team. That was far, far too painful for the effort involved. Got my one and not looking back at this dungeon until I get a different color team up to speed.

Not even going to try Scarlet tomorrow. Nope, nope, nope.

I wanna do like 12 Dios runs in about 90 minutes anyone interested ?

I will be using Yamato/Yamato/Leilan/Leilan/Goemon so taking out Floor 1, 3 and 5 should be more or less automatic. So looking for anyone with a Fire Row lead who can OHKO floor 2 and 4 for fast runs.

Open to other team suggestions but this seems to be the fastest and most brainless setup i could come up with. Could also use Rodin as a lead but i doubt that the team will have less than 30k HP so he isnt really needed.
Finally after a bunch of grinding the fire carnival and guan ying ping I have skilled up a complete team for the first time. Now working on finishing up their plus eggs.

Looking good - congrats.
How do you like the team so far ? Is Yamato a solid substitute for Uriel ?

Well he's off type but since I use the team for challenges and descends and not arena really his active is great. The team is fantastic. So tanky and powerful and still fun to play since activation takes a good amount of orb manipulation.

Yeah, Zeus seems harder for me as well. I was able to 0 stone clear Hera, but Zeus I had to use 1 stone. As long as you don't take any/many hits during the first few floors for Hera the only real challenge is Hera herself (and her combo shield.) I took her out with my XM team and threw Phoenix Rider on there for his shield just in case on Hera.

Finally managed to max skill my Akechi running the Dark Survey dungeon. Looking forward to the Fire one to max skill my Sanadas.

A. Pandora and A. Pandora/A. Luci can farm Dios pretty fast. I'm pretty close to finishing my first Dios. Going to max skill one and then try and get 2 or 3 to 18 or 19 turns. Going to be a long day, but half cost co-op is great.

In any sane world I would be burnt out of this game 100x over, almost amazes myself that I'm still playing. I think it's the sheer amount of time I've put into it, makes it really hard to imagine stopping...I kind of wish Gungho would have released Puzzle and Dragons 2 by now, not sure what they could possibly be building that is taking 4 years to do.

The sheer # of dungeons in JP is overwhelming and many of them are difficult (/whine mode) - I know they do it so that the top tier does not get bored but still...I actually kind of enjoy the "collect them all" aspect so would prefer they focus more on collabs.

Fuck, completely failed to notice it was in the coin rotation. I've been running dimension dragon to attempt to max skill Tsubaki instead.
Yeah, it's pretty nice if you're trying to focus on stilling up your dark characters, especially now with Akechi's in there too. I had some runs getting 2 of his drops. His dogs show up pretty regularly although they don't always drop (others drop instead.) 2x drop rate is nice though for running lower difficulties, even better if you can run multi with someone. I was running the higher difficulty with my alt, just because I also wanted drops for Pandora/Haku.

GH has gone on record (I think in the JP stream where multiplayer was first announced) stating that at one point that they were developing PAD2, but did not follow through for the exact reason you mentioned in your post. Too many people have too much time and money invested in PAD to make them throw it all away for PAD2. Releasing PAD2 would probably go poorly (see most F2P sequels bombing) and would kill PAD1 at the same time through cannibalization. So, PAD1 will continue into the foreseeable future.

At the same time, that is a curse. Games are becoming more graphically intensive, and PAD is an old game. On one hand, the graphics have improved in newer dungeons considerably. On the other hand, many long-time players are still playing on older devices, which makes the game unplayable (hence the Simple Background Option). Legacy concerns do have a material impact on the growth of the game in the future and hampers development. At the end of the day, GH will priortize paying customers over fancy graphics.

In JP, PAD is approaching 5 years old. So, yeah, there is a crazy number of dungeons out there. People expect new content constantly to keep them engaged in the game. To counter this, GH has pretty much fast-tracked new players through most of the old content through leaders with crazy leader skills. Further, post patch 9.1, new accounts can simply be carried through old content to speed them up even faster.

To that extent, most believe at this point that the situation is fairly transparent that PAD was never designed to have a lifetime of 5 years or more. As such, silly broken concepts are now happening that did not exist before. Cards can hit for 8-9 digits each now. Others can create on-demand 75% shields to tank practically anything. Some suggest that multiplayer was created to give GH some additional room to play with card growth before hitting the absolute wall.

No one really knows where the game is heading in the future, but it has definitely shifted towards collecting the "right" cards needed to build the optimal team rather than any particular playstyle. The June Bride dungeon is an excellent example of using collabs to deploy niche variants of popular cards that are more-optimally effective on very specific teams. Think of it this way. Pantheon gods cover the base foundations for many teams, and are always available through the REM. Collab cards offer specialist versions of these gods that are more valuable on very specific teams, and are much harder and rarer to pull than their standard pantheon equivalent (in most situations).

The new JP challenge dungeon has a fixed Kaede team. Got to try her out and she is really fun, wish I had one on one of my accounts. Will take awhile until I can get through it fast, not used to the cross heart thing yet.

Ok so I'm trying to farm fire carnival co-op is there a way to continuously run the same dungeon without having to invite your friend every single time?

Best bet is to share the new room and have your friend refresh his list of active multi rooms. They really need a feature where you don't have to create a new room if you're replaying the same dungeon.

Thanks, it's kind of ridiculous a feature like that doesn't already exist with the time we spend farming skill ups.

Thanks to bladelaw and Jagernaut for the dios farming sessions. It took 120+ runs but I finished 3 dios and have a 4th I'll work on in God/Hera rush and with natural stamina tomorrow. I'm ready to push button everything.

Yea that's what we ended up using it's still kind of annoying having to back out of PAD all the time. There should just be a reinvite option.
