Sometimes, I wonder if the US should really be split up into little regions. The political and even cultural divides are just too damn strong.

I would be okay with this. I'm tired of the entire country being run to the ground by the constant shift to the right. Split apart from them let them do their own thing if they want and leave people who aren't Ayn Rand cultists alone.

No way, I travel all the way across the country on a semi-regular basis (I do because I live in Maine and have family in California and Florida/Georgia). The differences are not that big. Not as much as in some European countries anyway IMO.

I just don't see the point of allowing people to legally have automatics. What use do they serve other than to shoot people? I mean there are ways to still legally shoot them so it's not like you can't go out and have some fun, but they really don't serve a civilian purpose.

Ever see Jericho? They'll serve a purpose. ;)

I feel like the title would be better as "People support stronger regulation of firearms, want background checks for gun ownership"

Looking at the chart, it seems most people are indifferent about the NRA. I don't really see anything that indicates they support or disagree with it. Certainly not the "most" you imply

living in California I can tell you MANY people carry guns I mean alot every kind. I'm kinda glad Ive seen a gun in real life tho if you not use to it you'll remember it.

All the gun haters need to come to California. We hate guns here. That being said I have 3 of them.

Bitch please.

Seriously, despite his questionable record on police brutality & civil liberties, I gotta give props to NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg for his strong stance on gun control.

I've never actually met a person who wanted to guns illegal in the US, no matter how liberal they might have been on other issues. People who want the Second Amendment repealed are truly the fringest of the fringe in America and that's a good thing.

I support it too.

You should be able to defend you life to the fullest extent possible. If your life is genuinely in danger, you should be able to meet that threat and be able to save yourself and/or others.

As a liberal, gun rights is one of those issues I don't really give a shit about. I feel all the energy spent arguing for and against is just a huge distraction from the root causes of gun crime in the US.

When is your life genuinely in danger? Where do you draw the line? Honest question.

Will become a gun owner this calendar year. I don't see a problem with law abiding citizens owning firearms, much to the disapproval of a few. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.

I'm crazy liberal and I want to get a good shotgun and handgun to shoot at the range.

So you're saying gun control doesn't work in CA? Because carrying a firearm is illegal unless you're lucky enough to get a CCW which is almost as hard to get as to find a job.

My coworker's husband was killed in a home invasion/robbery two years ago. That changed my entire thought process on the necessity of gun ownership.

If some stranger decides to enter my home at night without me knowing it and doesnt run the fuck away the minute i aim at his head, bitch is dead.

Pretty simple rules.
