I'll pop thoughts in here in a bit. I gotta tranquilo. People got so hype at a spot in the movie that they got up and started shadowboxing. This shit was wild.

And it's Philly alllllll over.

Is Sly there? :D

Negative. It was a Fandango screening though, and holy shit did they hook it up. Free popcorn/soda, free Fandango ticket later, etc etc etc. They really threw a shitload of stuff behind this screening. They must love the movie.

Your seeing this in philly?

Im jealous

Watching this one in Philly will be a special experience for sure. They still show Rocky I near the 4th of July at the Art Museum. I can't wait for them to do the same with this one.

surely you don't mean that. don't tell me though, i'll find out why next week.

Ok, so I've successfully tranquilo'd. Take my thoughts with a mountain of salt; it was a free screening, we got a shitload of stuff, it was in Philly, I live here now, I love the Rocky movies, etc etc.

And no spoilers, obviously.

This -might- be better than Rocky Balboa. And that's my favorite Rocky movie.

Ryan Coogler is an insane person. Him with even a small budget (this only had like 35 mil) just rolls right over everybody. The fight cinematography in particular will have you shit a brick. And there's so many absolutely phenomenal non-fight shots that make me want to go watch the movie again just for those.

You see a completely different side of Philly in this one. Rocky movies always show certain landmarks, while Creed goes a bit more underground. It's a nice spin on things.

Sly's got balls of steel for rolling with this. Rocky is -clearly- his baby, and he handed off to, of all damn people, the director and star of Fruitvale Station. He trusted them completely. And it pays off with a fantastic movie that I hope gets a bajillion sequels.

I thought the trailer was incredible. But it fucking hid all the good shit. You ain't ready.

God I am so hype to see this. A movie that captures the spirit of the original Rocky (which is nothing at all like what the franchise became) and Balboa? Oh you know damn well I'm in.

YO I WILL TOLERATE A LOT OF THINGS NEOGAF.

BUT PEEPS TALKING SHIT ABOUT APOLLO MOTHERFUCKING CREED AIN'T ONE OF EM.

Lord Panda

The Sea is Always Right
I feel kinda weird that I'm more excited about this movie than The Force Awakens. Probably need to see a doctor or sumfin.

Just bought my ticket for Tuesday night @10:30pm, luxury seating, dead center @ iPic.

Fucking stoked.

Nah. If this movie manages to take it back to the low-key drama of Rocky and Rocky Balboa, I'm not in a hurry to turn this shit back into a gaudy, gloryhallastoopid cartoon again.

Obviously it would be the fourth sequel.
I meant as a joke anyways, the concept is so absurd but I know I would pay to watch it.

I am legitimately, 100% shocked this movie is getting any positive reviews. Didn't hear about the damn thing until like last week and I own every Rocky movie to date. I just assumed it was being pushed out the door and was going to be worse than Rocky V.

Do you watch sports? There have been tons of commercials during them for it and even having "Creed" signs in stadiums.

So maybe the advertising is just really targeted.

Forgot about this movie

I think I'll watch Rocky 1 soon and then watch this next week when it is shown here.
Will drag my brother to watch it too, kid needs to see some quality movies :V

Excellent. Had a great time.

Coogler directs the shit out of this film. Gorgeous film, each shot oozes with style along with some seriously inspired visual decisions. Michael B Jordan kills it, as always.

Only surprised that people are surprised.

Rocky Balboa was kind of the same deal. No one really thought it would be any good, almost everyone was pleasantly surprised. This might be better, but it's also a better premise.

Yep just got out of a early screening. Loved it. Was a great film for fans and newcomers alike. Definitely worth a watch this thanksgiving holiday.

It just has to be there, I just want to hear it for once in a cinema.
But you guys are most likely right, there is no way they make a Rockey related movie and dont play it.
