If it were any other mayor, it wouldn't be.

But this is the guy who keeps tripping over his own clown shoes.

Anyway, he claims they gave him the ticket "because he's a Broncos fan".

Yup. That's exactly why.

Is jaywalking a serious crime in Canada or something? I mean it's technically illegal here in the US too but I've never heard anyone I know being ticketed for it. The only ways cops would waste their time on something like that is if they hated the people they were ticketing.

So it's obvious people have some sort of weird grudge against this guy.

It's probably because Ford is a big boy. Imagine the damage he would cause if a car hit him while he was in the middle of the street.

As a Vancouverite, I agree.

Though they may not have identified Ford, per se. It's possible he just jaywalked in such a cocky, drunken, brazen way that any cop in the area would feel compelled to give him a ticket out of self-respect.

Not necessarily. There is a difference between running across the street without a stoplight and crosswalk (technically jaywalking) and a drunk loitering in the middle of a street. No one really gives a fuck about the former but the latter is obviously a danger to everyone. We don't know how exactly it went down but I'm inclinced to believe the Vancouver Police didn't cite for public intoxication and jaywalking just because they have a 'weird grudge' against him

Yep lol.

Yesterday, upon hearing that the police are getting a warrant for his phone: "why are the police going through all that trouble? If they want to see my phone records, I'll give them my phone, I've got nothing to hide"

Today:

Reporter: Are you going to hand your phone over to Toronto police?

Ford: now why would I do that without a warrant?

The man does not think about what he's saying at all and does not remember what he said a day later. It's really very odd to watch.

Robyn Doolittle makes my girlfriend all sorts of angry.

I mentioned she was going to be on The Daily Show, and she jealously said "Would you care if she was all old and wrinkly?"
Did you answer "No, but she isn't so it's a moot point."? :p

Heh, jokes aside, but wouldn't the warrant be for his phone records, not his actual phone?

Let's hope Genevieve Tomney doesn't break some huge story next for your relationship's sake.

If Doolittle has any concern at all for reality and facts then she will be a major upgrade over Dimanno who does not give a shit about such things.

DiManno is third only to Warmington and Malick on my "Douchey Toronto Columnists" power rankings.
