No, and they were very disingenuous about that in their announcementIs that a bad thing thoughthe question is: does it run my Xbox library natively?

But they said "freedom of Windows"The only interesting part is that it's supposed be a running only a "partial" version of Windows in the background. That's definitely a step in the right direction for someone allergic to Windows OS bloat and its annoying features.
It's obviously more Xbox than just a windows PC the whole thing is designed around the Xbox controller. The first of MANY gaming Windows PCs that will bear the "Xbox" name and logo.
This is just the beginning.
well, you can play PS1, PS2 ,PSP, some PS5 games, N64, SNES, GC, Wii, WiiU some switch games, Dreamcast, and all Xbox library its seen like a pretty good deal for a handheld. My issue with this is basically same issue with all these PC handhelds,
They mostly play the games I can already play in other consoles..... the reason I buy any system it has games that cant get it anywhere else.
I already have PS5 for most mutiplatform games and I have Switch 2 for its first and 3rd party exclusives.
No, they are completely clueless. What is Microsoft's strategy here?
Are they afraid of Steam OS?
And I as a father of 3 am completely unable to play anything that requires me to turn on a TV.My issue with this is basically same issue with all these PC handhelds,

But now you have the freedom of WindowsSo they just reworked Rog Ally and Ally X with Xbox branding? Seriously?
That's basically my take. Like when they announced a new Series S 1Tb for 349$, I was like « do you even read the room sometimes ? »No, they are completely clueless.
With Windows? I'll buy it and install SteamOS.
I'm not interested in emulation, also I could be wrong but this system doesn't support physical media so I have no interested signing to Xbox or Steam to get games.well, you can play PS1, PS2 ,PSP, some PS5 games, N64, SNES, GC, Wii, WiiU some switch games, its seen like a pretty good deal for a handheld.
I need someone explained me how this thing actually works. Can you use steam on it to play ps5 ports?
Then what's the point? Also they said this is their next hardware release, so no next console or what?Looks like it will be limited to Xbox PC store (for now)
Being able to launch into a cut down version of Windows does not prohibit one from launching into Windows proper. But they said "freedom of Windows"
That summerizes the whole Xbox strategy for 10 yearsThen what's the point?
why develop your own hardware when ou have the money to just put your brand on someones work ?So they just reworked Rog Ally and Ally X with Xbox branding? Seriously?
Yes essentially this. How well this works is anyone's guess. PC is never a straight forward experience.this really sounds like Windows Steam OS edition. the game mode is an isolated mode like the game mode on Steam OS

Locating and accessing games across multiple channels can be a challenge —navigating through various browsers, storefronts, and login credentials can sometimes make gaming feel anything but fun. But with the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, getting into the fun is easier and faster than ever.
Within the Xbox full screen experience, players will see their aggregated gaming library, giving them quick access to games from Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, and other leading PC storefronts. With this new feature, your Xbox library, hundreds of Game Pass titles (membership required), and all your installed games from other PC game stores are always at your fingertips.
They literally said it's not tied to a store and will support steam and gog.Looks like it will be limited to Xbox PC store (for now)

Absolutely. With Windows? I'll buy it and install SteamOS.
Now that's interesting to see how this unfolds.Unless Sony specifically blocks them, yes you should be able to.
