[S-Conf] Assassins Creed III: Liberation for Vita [Screenshots]

To me those screenshots are clearly bullshots. They might approximate the way the game will look on your Vita display but there is clearly some "rendering game at high resolution, then down-res for Vita resolution" anti-aliasing going on there.

The gameplay in the demo looked more reasonable with the lower LOD-count models and the lower quality animations.

OTOTH maybe the extra time they had for not being a launch game might actually mean the game won't run at sub-native with lots of aliasing, but I wouldn't bet on that.
Still looking forward to it. I believe it will be delayed though.

Wow, these screenshots look the business! Despite the profound lack of Vita content at Sony's conference, I'm still majory enticed by the prospect of handheld Final Fantasy alongside games like this and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

I have to give props to Ubisoft. A strong looking non-sexualised female lead in a modern video game. Bravo! (She's black too)

I wish they could take these kind of risks in the mainline games. Perhaps a transgender guy in a wheelchair for Assassins Creed 4.

edit: Just realised this might come across as sarcastic, it's not meant to. I am very much in support of more diversity in games.

I'd play it~

Looks good, but as with many companion handheld releases I wonder if people really want to buy "the same game" twice at once, especially during the busy holiday season, when there are so many other games and the budget is tight. I see the benefits of cross promotion, and Sony needs some big games at Christmas for sure. But I still question if this release tradition is helping the handheld versions.

Well, I've never been able to get into the series at all, so for me personally, I'll probably get this bundle as my Vita purchase and completely ignore AC3 on the consoles :p

I'm not sure about the architecture, but at least they seem to have gotten the trees right.

I have to say, this impressed the hell out of me. However, I'm absolutely flabbergasted, shocked, that Sony didn't have more to show for the Vita. Not an expansion of plus, no new first party games, no Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, nothing from Ready at Dawn... unbelievable.

Bethesda did you see the screens? If a second class team can make this why don't you try to make a fallout or an elder scroll?
1)reusing assets
2)no rpg competitors
3)???
4)profit!

Bustling city looks promising atleast.

Really hope this is good.

one of the few new games Vita owners have to look forward to, I pray it's good

A black woman as a main character. This is the first time I've seen this.

Well as main and playable characters goes

-Jade (Beyond Good & Evil)
-Chell (Portal1/2)
-Sheva (Resident Evil 5)
-Niobe (Enter the Matrix)
-Rochelle (L4D2)

I believe there are some few other too.

How come the article doesn't say anything like "open world", or "non-linear"? That tends to be standard for Asassin Creed type games, and should especially be standard for a new kind of Assassins Creed game. But I guess it won't be open world?

Obvious information doesn't need to be mentioned?

Wow. Those screenshots! That Vista! That beautiful protagonist!

Thank goodness we've got some Vita support, and this really does look jaw dropping.

It has been confirmed it is open world with no loading..

Why would they waste time in the article stating the obvious.

You use the analog sticks to move!

It's a legit AC game, they confirmed this in the conference
Open world as ya like

Looks great but I'm not seeing a great leap (har!?) beyond what Golden Abyss showed in terms of graphics. That's not a bad thing, by the way, as I thought Golden Abyss was a great looking handheld title. I imagine this will still be running at subqHD like many of the more ambitious Vita projects. Still, as long as the framerate and gameplay are up to snuff this should be a pretty great game.

And yes, I love the main protagonist. I hope we get abit of storyline on her and I hope it does the character justice because her design is fantastic.

This game does look pretty freaking good.... but, wasn't the Assassin's game for PSP horrible? For those who played it, what didn't work about that game, and could this version be better?

I really hope Ubisoft is taking this game very seriously. I don't know if it was just the hardware last time with the PSP game, but damn my hopes are high for this game.

The city was empty and the controls didn't work very well. If you could get past that it was a decent enough game, but those issues really hurt it imo.

Obvious information doesn't need to be mentioned?

Obvious or not, I think it was mentioned in every other Assassins Creed release, or something very similar to 'open world' was mentioned (Large explorable areas, whatever.) -- so, when a new Assassins Creed game does not mention open world gameplay or something similar, one would think that it might not have it. (Most publishers and P.R agencies would (And should.) most likely not rely on guesswork on whether or not the people who might be interested in Assassin's Creed would 'assume' that one of its key aspects, open world, is included.)

It should be mentioned explicitly even if there are several gameplay videos available, as "open world" doesn't show very well in videos..

And since it's on Vita, and running something similar to the Assassins Creed 3 engine, I'd thought they would have to severly reduce the open areas.

Looks really good.

I waited in line and watched the Ubisoft presentation of AC3 today, and holy shit, that game is amazing. I'm going to be in Assassin overload this October, because I'm getting both Vita AC, and PS3 AC. I love this series.

But first, I have to buy and play Revelations.
