The creators have the right idea, the problem isn't superhero movies themselves, it's that they're all the same terrible recipe. The movie seems more about the characters themselves instead of non-stop action and terrible jokes, at least that's what I gathered from the trailer. Plus I trust Stallone, he often picks good to decent scripts.

I'm at half a chub.

Sly looks great but kids in these kinda films can be very hot or miss. I'm also very nervous about the tone, this could be like The Last Action Hero or Hancock and just miss the boat for me.

Good cinematography though, it FEELS like a real movie, not a streamer special.

Looks good, but no wonder they gave him a suit with a mask and a hoodie jacket, so they can hide him when the stunts drop.

Still, looks like a good watch.

I was so wrong, this movie was written and directed by imbeciles. The editing is horrendous, the director is so incompetent and the dialogue so bad that they even made Stallone look like a bad actor, the pacing is pretty bad, the villain and his plans are a joke and the movie is predictable as fuck even though it thinks it's smart. At some point they were showing a younger Stallone for a few seconds and because the director is a troglodyle instead of de-aging Stallone's real face something even social media filters can do pretty damn competently (in case it's a matter of budget) they made a full CGI Stallone that looked like a videogame character. That scene alone was proof to me of what a fucking idiot the director is.

The only good things I have to say about this is that at least it's not some generic, forgettable Netflix movie, the concept and what it was trying to do are pretty good, it's just that the writer and director were incompetent so they took a good idea and turned it into shit. Plus the two characters are pretty likeable despite their dialogue often being fucking cringe.

If all thats true it makes you wonder why Sly didnt direct it himself, i mean the film is made through 'Balboa Productions.

Editing is really bad in this. Like the child actor, obviously can act under direction, but the editing completely messed up with his acting and scenes when he's displaying some emotion / response to what's happening. There's also a few obvious editing issues with the bad guy's scenes.

Sly could do a lot better. And the movie plot could be a lot better actually. There seemed to be times where there was an interesting story to show or tell but it was cut short and times where a character seemed to unfold some extra depth for their personality and a next sentence completely ruined it.

Still a fun waste of time. Nothing really memorable.

It was a generic straight to blu-ray action movie which I do tend to like. The movie pretty much went where I thought it would with the story. I kind of now want a sequel to explain the character's history since this one seems to have just introduced him.

This wasn't the most original film in the world, but was still mostly enjoyable.
The dynamic between the Sam and Joe was wholesome stuff.

Visual presentation was all over the place though. I liked the grimy inner city look to most of the film, but they sort of went overboard with the colors in the last act.
Mostly generic characters and far too many contrived points to get the story to move along.

Decent film, and old man Stallone was entertaining.

This movie was fine and entertaining. Both Sylvester and the actor for Sam were good and fun to watch. It honestly feels like a throwback movie made in the late 80's or early 90's and if it was released back then when we were kids and it was R rated we would have loved it. It even has the bog standard and cliché hostage scenario at the end that is completely played out by todays standards.

Please don't insult 80's and 90's movies, Hollywood had professionals back then. Even 5 out of 10 movies had better editing, dialogue, story and pacing. Good God, that cringe dialogue at the end between Stallone and the kid, who the fuck writes like this?

I recently watched Chain Reaction, it's definitely not a good movie that rightfully was a critical and box office failure. It still was a far better and more fun movie than this shit. Very dumb but at least it was somewhat fun and competently directed

Movie was ok-ish. The idea was good but the execution was way off, it felt completely garbled. With some proper editing it could have been pretty decent. It's one of those movies where you can't quite understand where the run time went because not a whole lot happened.
Also it felt like a kids movie that forgot it was supposed to be a kids movie.

We are all allowed to have our opinions and to me this is no worse or better than 80's/90's action films.
Unfortunately, the majority of the time I go back and watch an 80's/90's action film I end up disappointed. Commando, Total Recall, Lethal Weapon, Running Man, Red Heat, Blood Sport, Kickboxer, Superman, Big Trouble in Little China, Batman, Under Siege, Double Impact, Stargate, The Last Boyscout, so many of them just don't hold up. Not true for all of them of course, I still love Predator, Aliens, Robocop, Beverly Hills Cop and quite a few others.

Didn't hate it, but doesn't really go into why the twins have powers and why the hammer seems to give powers to the bad guy. Also, the motivations of the bad guy always seem good when they go the "society is fucking these people over" story angle. It's like with the Batman. Besides riddler being a murderer, his motivations made sense and you root for him to get some justice. Same with this nemesis dude.

It makes no sense why the guy stopped since the world obviously wasn't getting any better.
