Silent Hill 2 remake (Bloober) image leak - PS/PC timed exclusive, post #56

I would love to see a remake. But I think I would prefer a new game. All they've ever been doing these days is rehashing old games. Sometimes not so well. Capcom, for example.

Both RE2 and 3 had a disappointing chunk of things removed. So if this occurs with this remake, fans are not going to be happy.

I'm a fan of RE, I played all those games on release in JP (until RE4 then it arrived fast in Europe), RE3 is the game I expected the most in my life, I dreamed of it every nights. RE2/3 remakes are both better than the originals.

PS5 + PSNow + PC so many less platforms than Xbox + XCloud + PC… 🤔. Sorry good guy Phil…
I'll ignore your blatant trolling because I love to think you are a better poster than that.

Having said that, PSNow is only available on PS consoles and PC, isn't it? xCloud is available to everything that has a browser so yes, that's less platforms

Also, is there any guarantee that game will be in PSNow?

Well, I do respect your opinion. However, the remake of RE3 in particular was heavily panned by critics and fans.

If Konami are to be smart about this, they'll put much love and care into the project. But, really. The series is nothing special without Team Silent at the helm.

The games that Konami published without their involvement, pretty much sucked. They had good storylines, but were otherwise forgettable efforts.

I have to believe that everyone bringing up Hasan as a part of this, at this point in time, is either trolling or has had too many concussions in their life.

Exactly this was speculated a year ago.

People just expected things to progress much quicker than they did.

Should have been obvious since we already know Bloober are working on Layers of Fear and aren't big enough to make more than one game at once. It took three years for them to make the medium and they made nothing else in that time.

No, they're capable of multiple projects. They put out Blair Witch and LoF2 in the same year. We know they have at least three projects in production right now and the konami partnership is official

It's all but confirmed that they're involved with SH

Well, I hope it's fake, Bloober games are really... meh and totally forgettable.

Oh I missed that, dude seems to be debunking it though.

Dont really care either way, just strikes me as odd since they seem to have a close relationship with Microsoft.

If bloober is actually working on it, I think I have better hope than most people.... I've never understood the vitriol bloober gets, from both the soys at the other board and regular dudes here.

They're an above average AA developer, game could be pretty dope with a proper budget and if they just stick to the original.

They are shite at optimisation, that's why.
That's why I pointed out their budget

They try to make AAA games with AA budgets... If Konami gives them a AAA budget I'm excited to see what they can do, especially since it's a remake.

Could be fake who knows. The images themselves seem to have been snipped from that slide though. Plus they did announce some type of agreement with Sony this year so it makes sense.

Observer is all i've really liked from them. Keeping an open mind though since apprently they've got some of the OG devs on board. The game is borderline a walking sim anyway so I'm not concerned about the combat.

Aaaah okay I figured they'd be connected in story.

Still weird they jumped too 2 is that the better one?

It's probably because 2 fits Blooper's style more and is easier to remake. It's a slower paced game that's ligher on combat.

SH2 Is highly regarded due to the story, but gameplay, exploration and enemy variety are bettter in SH1.

Three years is hardly what I'd call a long time, epsially with most devs taking longer than that just to release a single game.

You have more faith in them than me, it took two years just to create the Medium with all their devs and that was nothing fantastic.

There current game is also set for the same two year development track. They'd have to expand quite a bit to get an additional game going alongside it.

Dunno why people shit on blooper as much as they do. Whilst the medium was fairly average and forgettable, observer was pretty great. They have been expanding as they slowly up their budgets and try to edge into aaa, if they have been doing that with the right staff to supplement their weaknesses they could do a pretty good job on a remake imo.

Most fans would say yes...I have a soft spot for the first one, as I found it to be quite a bit scarier, with better puzzles throughout the game...It's mostly nostalgia, however.
Silent Hill 2 packs a bigger emotional punch, and is more interesting and layered, in terms of its themes, plot and characters.

While SH2 has more people analyzing stuff due to the nature of the game, there's a lot of deep insightful stuff in SH1 as well. It delves more deeply into the alchemy side of things as well as the parallels between the journey of Henry Mason and the progression of the occult alchemical heroes journey as we call it. It's pretty damn amazing how much similar it is with the popular works such as Star Wars.

Just the name of the characters themselves pack a lot of meaning. It's easy to dismiss it if you're not knowledgeable about the nature of their meaning. While that is true as well for the psychological aspects of 2, it's a lot more mainstream compared to the themes delved in SH1.

Maybe they can't fuck it up as much if they just remake a game with a hopefully good budget. But new possible endings will surely be written like the most mediocore slop. Because Bloober is as mid as it gets.

At least let us be thankful they aren't doing a totally new SH game. Though on the flip side they can fuck up a classic instead.

Apparently you've never heard of Layers of Fear 2. The Medium and Layers of Fear 2 were developed simultaneously.
