Nah, gonna be at least 2 years before it gets a pc port and even if it was good it's still gonna be one of many good third person action games.

Have they shown any gameplay?
Cutscenes alone are not enough for me to decide if I'll buy or not.
I think the final scene is 'scripted' gameplay (all in engine, that's the character, scenery, textures, other models etc. but scripted so that she jumps off the rock (hey, this is Naughty Dog though and they are very good at motion matching and environmental movements, so you never know)

Yeah.. I need a good gameplay video to decide, scripted gameplay doesn't count for me.

I do agree, but if thats the detail of the actual world and characters I'll be more than happy. I;m not really worried about ND gameplay, they have iterated on character movement with every game they have made and made it better each time, my only worry is that they have gone very Souls like (I know some people would like that, but I dont think they would do that though, certainly not go with massive difficulty like some Souls games have)

What exactly has ND done to earn a reputation? Derivative console 3D platformer slop, a poor man's Tomb Raider ripoff series, and zombie slop whose first entry was still a decade late from when that genre might have felt fresh.

Because it is a female heroine that shaved their head? Do you want to f*ck every character you see in TV, movie or games? I don't.
No I do not. But the context of your post implied women only serve as eye candy (" It is funny... ...some of you assume she would be interested in you. :messenger_grinning_smiling:", hence me questioning your inclusion of a child in your list of photos.

No intent of eye candy. Just that there have been some bad ass women with shaved heads.

ND is the only developer to threaten Mario Reign in the 90s and one of the only really elite and talented developers ever with R*.

I hate Druckmann direction though, he has been cancer to ND output since the first DLC of TLoU

Wasn't anticipating anything from them nor after the reveal trailer. ND burned all love I had for them after TLoU2, they once upon a time were my favorite developer. They'd have to go above and beyond to earn my trust and dollar again but instead like most western devs they went even further down a very unappealing path. My girl and I aren't "gooners" we just want attractive designs, the ideal as it were. I miss Amy Hennig. The gameplay could be amazing but we don't care, we're not wasting time looking at that. Visually overall a continuation from TLoU2 and I expect a similarly weak story. The chase for realism in gfx yet fantastical sci-fi designs looks off and like a Marvel movie in all the worst ways. I know that's a matter of preference.

This is my point exactly. I don't want to waste my valuable time looking at "that." Who in their right mind wants to have to look at that for 20 to 30 hours? Not me!

“Bad ass women with shaved heads” is a cliche at this point, it sucks. Alien was over 40 years ago, is this still all they can do?

Like people bringing up GI Jane, lol that movie was shitty propaganda (putting women in combat has been a focus of the social engineers for a long time for some reason), it got mediocre reviews at best, bombed at the box office, and marked the point where Demi Moore’s career was no longer an A-list actress.

The fat plumber stops being the focus when the rest of the games design is engaging. I'll accept and tolerate Jordan's shitty design, if the rest of the game supersedes it.
Do you normally play game with unengaging design just because the main character is hot? Because that's a whole different can of worms...

No that's stupid. The expectation from most ND games is a cinematic character driven narrative experience, that experience is hinged on the character(s). If we're talking about a platforming game like Mario, who really gives a shit about the appears of the plumber?

Well sure, but it's hinged in their writing and development not their appearance. Naughty Dog protags are famously bland and generic if you only go by appearance.

No one would play TLOU or Uncharted based on the main characters being intriguing by appearance. You wouldn't even look twice at Joel or Nathan if they were behind you in line at Costco.

Don't know shit about it besides product placement really so far. Can't say I'm looking forward to it or not at this point.

Absolutely, the writing is important. But let’s not pretend that the visual representation of that character isn’t just as important as their backstory and narrative goals. Playing a 1/3 of TLOU2 as Abby was distasteful, which was equal parts writing and character design. This is quite possibly Abby all over again.

Name a visually compelling Naughty Dog protagonist. I'll wait.

Abby was deliberately challenging in terms of narrative and I personally think it paid off and was an incredibly impactful narrative, but it's a weird game in that it's kind of anti-fun.

I'm not especially worried about the kitschy retro sci-fi game about battling robots with a laser sword being misery porn designed to challenge players' empathy.

This trailer was little more than a statement of intent, and it seems like the vibe they are going for is fun, cool, stylish action. I am not worried about this being another TLOU2 (even though I liked TLOU2, I will probably never play it again).

I mean I see what you’re trying to do. Diminishing the value of past character designs doesn't make Jordan’s more tolerable at all. I never said they had to be compelling. Jordan’s design is just shit in my opinion and could be better.

I don’t feel like Abby’s narrative arch paid off either. A narrative designed around a moral quandary is just frustrating, the entire plot was frustrating. Trying to make Abby relatable when she was anything but that was poor writing from the team.

Sure. But Jordan does not look cool if that was the intent. Like I said, if they’re able to supplement Jordan with great world design, other interesting characters, good gameplay, etc. I will 100% overlook her design. Whether that happens or not is still a mystery.

I’ll probably get it being a ND game but I need to see more. I like the sci-fi setting and the fact it’s a new IP but I’m not entirely sold on the new character yet, she looks weird and unappealing. Hoping to see more gameplay so I can decide if it’s the game for me based on gameplay.

Need to see more but excited that Naughty Dogs next project is getting close. Naughty Dog has made some of my favorite games with TLoU being probably being my all time favorite. Loved the sequel and Factions 2 being cancelled is the biggest disappointment of this generation.

And for all of the cultural crusaders;
-TLoU2 isn’t woke.
-the main character from intergalactic is objectively attractive

I’m sick of all the woke nonsense also but not everything is woke just because there’s a chick with a shaved head in it. The anti woke side on this site is as insufferable as Ree that people here like to make fun of. All the people contributing to this nonsense are just proving that political horseshoe theory is a real thing.

But you'll spend that time looking at a fat plumber in overalls?
Yes, the fat plumber is a cartoon character and is not designed to be realistic. Hell, Intergalactic would likely be much better with the fat plumber in overalls as the main character instead of this atrocity.

Well - while Chloe stands out 95% for Claudia Black's performance, as opposed to anything appearance related, I don't know that anyone would argue that either Chloe or Nadine were not also physically very attractive.
And while we're on Uncharted - the above applies to Nate and his... brother... as well.

TLOU protagonists are a bit different - but then so is the setting and the themes, it's appropriate.
If we really want to complain about visually compelling - it was NDDs platformer mascots that were ugly (for well - mascots), but we're 20 years removed from those so...

Anyway - since this trailer made nothing known except for the 80ies aesthetics (and real branding) I can only go on that. And while I still have fondness for the timeframe, there's been a lot of really awful media produced in recent decade trying to exploit this nostalgia, so that alone is not a selling point for me, and potentially a concern (if they rely on it for appeal as heavily as the trailer implies). So yea - need to see more.

I was really excited to see them going space and this trailer killed any excitement, going "future low tech 80/90s" is truely a mistake, they should have built a unique high tech future with their imagination like Mass Effect.

I won't even speak about the (main ?) character, sexy man or woman is apparently now forbidden, ridiculous.

In your case I totally get your hesitation towards Intergalactic.

For me personally I thought UC3, while still a great game in its own right, was the second weakest canon entry just ahead of Drake's Fortune. I consider UC4 to be the pinnacle of the series and in a different league to UC3, and even preferred Lost Legacy to UC3.

Both TLoU games are all time greats for me as well, with Part II being the most impressive work ND has done to date in pretty much every area except the plot. So to each their own.

Who knows, maybe Intergalactic will be the gameplay you are looking for. It certainly seems to be much more action focused gameplay compared to TLoU judging by the end of the trailer, but it's just speculation for now until gameplay is revealed.
I've even tried going back to the remastered Uncharted games and found it difficult to enjoy what I previously did, with all the forced elements. So I wouldn't even say I'm a fan of any of those games, but did surprisingly like the homage to uncharted in the recent Astro bot on PS5.

I think playing the far superior environmental gameplay of MGS4 again shortly before the TLoU came out didn't help, and that just added to my feelings of needing more control in my games after enjoying Rage 18months earlier IIRC. TLoU and Rage both have locked in survival sections or no progressing forward without advancing through a danger section, but in gameplay TLoU is like watching paint dry compared to the immediacy, feedback and control of Rage's iDTech5 empowerment in those trapped moments.

The TLoU felt so slow I started creatively decomposing the game in my mind between the setup gotcha moments of gameplay. I finished it but didn't enjoy it at all.
