She looks like the actress:

Piercings in general repulse me, but that septum piercing is on another level.

Even tho the character is bald and not attractive I don't see this should be the reason to say no to the whole game. We've seen ugly characters in game before but still enjoyed the game.
Voted for YES. I was waiting for ND's next game and I don't miss a good single player game from a highly respectable studio.

It’s Naughty Dog, arguably the flagship studio of PlayStation. I haven’t played a bad game from them since I was a kid and played the first Crash Bandicoot.

The first-party games are the reason why I own PlayStation consoles in the first place.
I haven't enjoyed a game from them since UC3 on PS3, and skipped all but the first stuck in treacle limited ammo jump scare Last of Us games on PS3.
I was hoping they would do something fresh, but don't hold out much hope for me buying this one. I'm probably more likely to reward Sony Music by buying the soundtrack and Sony Electronics in buying more of their audio equipment after that trailer.

My initial reaction was pretty meh but that that teaser of gameplay at the end really got me interested. I wonder what ND can pull off focusing on ARPG combat combined with their set piece design. So i voted "i need to see more".

There's a vast difference between an assumption and knowing. Which one applies to you in this scenario?

Who's saying anything about something happening overnight? Do you think they mocked up this game last week on a whim?

Their own words. Sorry but I'm bored of these kinds of games.

"Beyond that, we're keeping everything about the story under wraps – at least for now. What we can tell you is that this game lives up to the Naughty Dog tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey. Our narrative goals are rivaled only by our gameplay ambitions. This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog's history, taking our learnings from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we've ever done before."

I have no idea how anyone's voting yes or no as we know practically nothing about the game. It could go either way at this point.
It's no coincidence that this game was chosen out of all the games revealed. The question is prodding for "are you sexist/anti-woke or nah". If the character looked like Commander Shepard, we wouldn't even have this thread.

No I looked at naughty dogs games as inspiration but RIP naughty dog, everyone believed uncharted 5 should have been replaced and good for people dropping this developer.

You were the last one making fun of her when I replied. I will edit.
I said I find "piercings repulsive" regardless of the person or gender! I don't have a problem with woman with shaved heads either, neither do I find them threatening lol. I neither find Tati Gabrielle atractive or unattractive. Attractiveness is subjective anyway.

For me, I do want to wait and see more. Naughty Dog while seemingly very invested in social grand standing, are a very talented developer. In my eyes, every one of their games for such a long time have been bangers. Granted I havent touched TLOU 2 but that is because I was waiting for it to come to PC. Just can't shake the feeling that ND have also succumb to the writing mind virus that has seemed to plague the gaming industry(and movies) for years now. TLOU2 is proof for some. However, the writing despite being divisive(for plot reasons mostly) remained pretty solid. Wait and see I suppose

The reveal was very disapointing to me, but I will see what else they show before making a décision. Now I'm leaving towards the negative side.

Saw this image on reddit. I still wouldn't be excited for the game if she looked like this, because Naughty Dog is as subtle as Rick&Morty fans in their attempt to reference other popular works, but I wouldn't straightly dismiss it at least. And obviously this hastly made fan mock up is far from perfect, but I just don't see how anyone would prefer whatever the fuck ND doctored up there over this or a million other choices that would still be just as inclusive, but simply also less unappealing.

As someone who loved unchartered and hated TLOU for reasons that have nothing to do with right wing discourse. I was not anticipating this game at all.

Game should probably be called “Starfield but good”

It's ND, so for me that's basically a lock.

Game will have production values through the roof.

Further showings would have to be positively disastrous for me not to buy.

I rolled my eyes when I saw the 80s style design of the world.

Don't get me wrong, it looks good how they presented the ship, the interior, music, feeling. All of it was on point. But I am just so sick of the 80s things. Like I feel this game was thought of during the hype of the 80s and Guardians of the Galaxy.... but gonna several years too late. It will still sell very well though.

Also, anyone with attitude holding a lightsaber is inferior to Travis Touchdown.

I dont understand the lack of enthusiasm, this looks like a dream of a game. Female lead=woke? Get a life, no indication yet its woke. Even if is, who cares. This looks like an open world bounty hunter game, may turn out to be what everyone built Starfield up to be (or what Beyond Good & Evil could have been). And as a child of the late 80s/90s, i love all the nostalgia. Hopefully this is a very choose your own adventure style open world game. Even if its more linear action game, still psyched to play

Yes! Of course we don't know almost anything about the game, and the trailer was only a few minutes, but it sure got my attention

Having gaming as my main hobby, there's no world where I don't buy a new Naughty Dog game on day 01. Even if it's utter trash (it won't be), it's a must-have for anyone that deems gaming a big part of their life.

I didn't give two shits about NDs new game but I am a sucker for retro futuristic stuff so I will most likely buy it.... on sale.

You're kinda right. Naughty Dog has many developers who are woke. That much is clear. In this particular case, that actress is real. They got her likeness (and her voice) as is. They had already worked with her on Uncharted, so it is more likely that they really liked her performance.

Now had they hired a "traditionally beautiful" actress like Sydney Sweeney and then removed her hair and made her look like this, then it would have deserved all the criticism.
They changed the look of the actress which is basically the same thing.

If this ends up being basically just like Jedi Fallen Order (which I'm suspecting it may be), im out. I mostly enjoyed those recent Jedi games but they were already a mix between Dark Souls and Uncharted.

BUT...

If this ends up being more like a 3rd Person Metroid Prime and she gets all kinds of cool body suits/armor I'll be in.

ALSO...

This will most definitely get a superior version on PS6 and since this will be releasing in what seems to be the last half of the PS5 lifespan, I may just wait if it meets my criteria.

In your case I totally get your hesitation towards Intergalactic.

For me personally I thought UC3, while still a great game in its own right, was the second weakest canon entry just ahead of Drake's Fortune. I consider UC4 to be the pinnacle of the series and in a different league to UC3, and even preferred Lost Legacy to UC3.

Both TLoU games are all time greats for me as well, with Part II being the most impressive work ND has done to date in pretty much every area except the plot. So to each their own.

Who knows, maybe Intergalactic will be the gameplay you are looking for. It certainly seems to be much more action focused gameplay compared to TLoU judging by the end of the trailer, but it's just speculation for now until gameplay is revealed.

I need gameplay and reviews from trusted sources. Games are very expensive nowadays here (south America) and I don't want to pay $70 for a gender lesson

I'm not a hardcore ND fan, but they make incredibly polished games, and I'm definitely intrigued. I would have to see some gameplay to get genuinely hyped, though.

Have to see more but I’m not really interested in ND or single player narrative games.

I need to see more gameplay.

And that Gameplay reveal probably needs to absolutely blow us away or I can see this game absolutely flopping if not.

People can make their own decisions but to me, the wokeness level needs to be higher for me to boycott a great game. Like Dragon Age trans preaching and mansplaning dead-naming. If I boycott everything with an ugly chick or alphabet person in it, I’d be left with just the Hallmark channel.

It is funny... ...some of you assume she would be interested in you. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Actress looks fine. Character looks like the actress. Bald female heroines do not scare me...

Not sure why you posted a picture of a kid.

Secondly Natalie Portman still looks feminine despite the short hair, but she clearly looks better in long hair.

Day 1 (on preorder, or thereabouts). I will get some PS store gift cards from Costco (hopefully on sale) and pull the trigger without a second thought. ND games are great, though maybe I should wait for the PS6 remaster or the PS7 Re-Re-Master.
