Depends entirely on the gameplay.
If it's like their other modern games (Uncharted 4 and TLOU2) it's going to be an easy wait for a sale. I enjoyed both of those but they are in the 7/10 territory for me.

But I honestly think it will just be more of the same.
Stellar visuals and great combat, but half of the game will be walking and talking, awful "puzzles" or platforming and extensive in game "cinematic" sequences where you don't really do anything for an hour (like all the flashbacks in TLOU2...or like the first 3 hours of Uncharted 4 lol).

Exactly this.
Uncharted 4 has some extremely good spectacular set pieces, and when you actually get to play.. man that's fantastic. Same with TLOU2, combat is EXCELLENT.

But to enjoy that you have to go through hours of NOTHINGNESS. Walking through a void of boringness and observing long ass cut scenes of political preaching. So If you ask me how fun was TLOU2, even with such polished gameplay sections it was a total bore fest.

I probably don't understand the meaning of word ugly, because I don't see how she can be considered ugly

Damn bro - you'd get in bed with this? I don't even think I can look at her on a screen for 20 hours. But hey, whatever floats your boat I guess.

I will await reviews

btw - what is the practical difference between the 3rd and 4th choices in the poll - both are saying we are curious to wait for more information.

I've been on Playstation since the PS1 and I've never played a bad ND Playstation game so they earned the Day 1.

I've been down the rabbit hole looking at Cowboy Bebop videos to see what may influence the game. I hadn't a clue what the fuck that was until seeing people post it.

I want a Cowboy Bebop game now so hopefully someone can borrow the IP.

I have yet to play a ND game that was less than stellar, so I'll be there day one

Anyone can spend their money (or not) how they choose, but imo not buying a game because you dont feel attracted by the main character is so fucking juvenile.

Some people seriously only play games and watch movies with attractive people in them? How superficial you have to be?

Right because Hollywood is well known for casting uggos and plain janes in their movies, and making them big stars.

It's certainly not the case at all that the famous actors, singers, artists, and fashion models also tend to be very handsome or beautiful.

Naughty Dog as we know it is long gone. It is not the studio that made Uncharted and The Last of Us 1. It is just another generic modern studio.

They will try to parasitise on their legacy, they will use the cool engine they inherited, that makes their games super realistic, they will use the huge budget they can still get to make a great looking game, but at its core it will just be another generic modern game with insufferable characters, terrible plot, etc.

Trailer was a huge disapointment. The bald girl character is among the most unlikeable video game characters I've ever seen.

They should just have picked Karen Fukuhara for the role. Everyone likes her.

The game would have sold gangbusters.

Imagine all the cars the management could be buying from that success.

$$$$$

Yeah we getting Calisto Protocol 2 any day now. Probably same day as that Bloodborne remaster.
No doubt the flopping of CP made sony reject her for Ghost of Yotei.

I never really cared for any ND games until The Last of Us. TLOU2 might be my favorite PS4 game. I strongly would have preferred they resolved the entire TLOU story arc completely before moving to their next big thing. I'm sure Intergalactic will be great, but right now I couldn't care less about it.

I want to see more, but if I'm honest with myself between giving ND the benefit of the doubt regardless of what we've seen, and the Reznor/Ross soundtrack, I'm in most likely 100%.

I enjoyed ND games up and through TLoU2, however this game is not appealing to me at all. Which is a shame as I love space games. I didn’t care for brand placement, I don’t like the actress or the MC design. I think the 80’s space theme is also played out.

I will pass until it goes on deep sale, if it’s even good, just like I did with Spiderman 2

Yup. TLOU2 has stellar combat, but I found most other aspects of the game quite boring, and sadly they make up a BIG chunk of the game.
Uncharted 4 is the same, it has arguably the most fun combat and best feeling gunplay in the franchise... and the least amount of actual combat. It's the only game in the franchise I can't bring myself to replay.
IMO ND struggles with making gameplay engaging outside of combat. In Uncharted 4 it's mostly walking around empty environments, on rails "platforming" and awful crate "puzzles". In TLOU2 you "scavenge" which means walking around empty environments pressing triangle to open mostly empty drawers, or you get some primarily school level safe "puzzles" where it's something like finding the code written on some wall in the next room.

But honestly what I dislike the most about the Druckmann style of game design is that he set this awful trend of gameplay "cutscenes", where it's not a traditional cutscene but instead some long and tedious "gameplay" sequence where you mostly walk around and see characters talk or occasionally engage in very limited and very scripted sequences. Sadly the style is even starting to affect other Sony games, GOW Ragnarok for example also has great combat and fun gameplay but you are constantly taken out of it because characters need to walk around and talk or you are forced into an Atreus sequence which is like an hour of mostly walking around because "story".

Yeah, I'm sure that you watch movies with Willem Dafoe cause he is beautiful.

Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are considered some of the best TV shows due to their handsome protagonists.

Please

Anyone making a statement on this at this point in time is ridiculous. We’ve seen zero gameplay or even what kind of game it really is.

I can't remember if I ever watched a movie because of Willem Dafoe, he's a character actor.

If you are seriously trying to tell me that Hollywood doesn't select for looks I don't know what to tell you.

They do. Cause yeah, there are billions of superficial people that care about looks (people dont watch Sydney Sweeney movies due to her acting).

Just saying that you dont need good looking actors to tell a good story. Caring so much for it is idiotic, since some of the best movies and tv series werent made with good looking actors.

70% left between 2016-2000? Where is that coming from?

Edit:

Oh....this is from Jason Schreier's Kotaku article, but that isn't what he said at all. He was only talking about 14 people.

"Of the 20 non-lead designers in the credits of 2016’s Uncharted 4, a whopping 14—70 percent—are no longer at the studio"

I agree that TLOU2 has some top of the line combat gameplay. But here's the problem. The combat gameplay was like... 30% of the playtime? The other 70% was filled with slow walking, exploring empty places and nonsense series of cutscenes with incredibly bad written characters.
I agree.

They either need to increase the combat to quiet time ratio or figure out how to make the non combat parts more interesting.

It seems making the gameplay deeper is a big priority this time so that's encouraging.

For better or worse Druckmans a huge bloodborne fan. We will see if that game has any influence.

I was looking forward to a new Naughty Dog game. But after the trailer I was disappointed and I don't intend to buy this game unless the new information makes it worth it.

The problem with the main character being who she is, a bald and masculine woman, is that at some point the story will have her giving a moral lesson, saying that the patriarchy doesn't give women freedom, that she's tired of being controlled by old, white men.

If the story is worth it despite these points and the gameplay is interesting, I'll buy it.

I was looking forward to ND's next game, and will need to see positive reviews to make a decision

This is a new character, not arbitrarily changing an old existing character in a visual way that makes no sense, I don't care about that part at all and don't get upset when I see more than a white male lead, it's the content of the game that matters and the consistency in that world. There's plenty of pron of women I'm attracted to.

Way too early to make a decision. I didn't like the trailer, but it was just a brief cinematic. I don't have any real idea about the story, other characters, environments, or gameplay. I've just seen a brief slice.

I'm suspicious of Naughty Dog after UC4 and TLOU2, but they are a very accomplished studio, so I'm going to give them a chance. I haven't been sold yet, but the game is still years away.

Not gonna lie it will probably be great even if I have my qualms with ND in recent years. My only worry is them trying to one up themselves in woke bullshit that pulls me out of the setting but well see I guess (neil druckmans show has me worried...) Hopefully it just trys to tell a good story and be fun/cool.

Not seen close to enough to have an opinion. Only thing can really say for now is that its shaping up to being a very pretty and technically accomplished game, unsurprisingly,
