Well, I always wanted to play this, so day 1 for me!

And misguided, may as well ask Sega to release Yoshi's Woolly World for PC while you're at it

wut? Bayonetta is an IP owned by Sega, not Nintendo, so the comparison makes no sense.
That being said, I don't think B2 will get ported.

I remember playing this on my 3DS and it was mega ass. Like I couldn't believe how bad it was.

Maybe it's gotten better since then? But my confidence is not high.

Please don't tell me this is what Sega Europe has been working on for the past half year.

God, I really hope this isn't what the guys who ported Valkyria Chronicles have been working on since then.

Hope hivemind lol

Huh, this is... really weird. But hey, hopefully it means more Japanese Sega releases and future Sonic games have a home on PC.

Still find it odd that they chose Lost World over Colors (Unleashed would probably be the best fit of all if it weren't for the Generations mods already existing).

The 3DS version is a very different game. Might want to give this a go. It's not perfect, but it has good ideas that are unpolished.

3DS version is different from the Wii U (this) version.

And by most accounts, the 3DS version was better.

At this pace, we're at one game per year... ;____;

Seriously, cant they just drop a survey ?

This is the third year in a row with Sega doing some weird out of nowhere Steam port announced around this time of year.

Wonder how long it'll be until hackers find traces of Yoshi's Story/Zelda DLC still in the game files.
Seeing how those were DLC that was released months later I honestly doubt that. Plus they'd have Nintendo all over them if that actually happens.

Sega's done it before.

Traces of Banjo-Kazooie and Avatar were found in the PC release of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and traces of the PC-only characters -- including Team Fortress -- were found in the console versions.

Sonic Lost World was a mostly decent game only held back by a pretty lackluster second half and some really iffy controls that took time getting used to.

In terms of baseline though it was one of the better formulas that Sonic Team had conjured. Whatever the next Sonic game is, I hope they expand upon the things that were introduced in this game since I'd hate a return to the stagnant boost formula.

Uhhh, you may have your memory reversed. The 3DS version was god-awful, while the Wii U version was decent.

I only played one version, and it was abysmal and ended in a laughably anti-climactic 'here's these unfinished beta levels' at the end. The level design was so bad it knew how shitty it was near the end.

The game has so many bad 3D Sonic tropes that Sonic Colors/Generations didn't fall into it that it was simply shocking they reverted to form with Lost World.

Even if the game is below the best Sonic games, you guys should give it a chance, the game is good. (Yes, I also think it's a good game.)

I wonder how did they adapt the controls to the PC version. You need to use the gamepad for the Wii U version yes or yes.

This. Hopefully we get a game like how Sonic Colors was to Unleashed. Taking what worked & expanding it.

Holy moly! I can't believe after all these years, Vanquish is finally coming to Steam! Can't wait to play it with mouse and keyboard controls. Sega is doing us good.

Get hype!

I hope they can revise the later half of the game as I hear it all kind of falls apart and that was the problem with the game.

Nintendo hemorrhaging dem exclusives.
I don't think the Zelda and Yoshi levels will be in the Steam version somehow. Still given Wii U data can be extracted (and I think those were free updates too) maybe...

Seems they've been porting this at least since October 2014.

Looking at the history though, it was added on Oct. 2014, but the first package update didn't happen until March 19, then a very long pause until it looks like development kicked off on June 3rd.

As expected, 4-6 months of work for a small team is enough to port a game to PC.

Dunno why they picked this game though. lol

I wanted Vanquish. :(

But gonna buy this.

edit: oh well

Fuck, this really was the project that Sega Europe was on. RIP in pieces, time to wait another year ;_;

You're killing me ;_____;
Come on... of all the good things people wanted and were willing to buy... Virtua Fighter 5... Bayonetta 1... Vanquish... Resonance of Fate... Yakuza... it had to be Sonic Lost World ? ;___;

My son is going to love this and so will I. I hope it's good. If it sucks, maybe there's hope that mods can fix it.

In the future, I wouldn't mind them iterating on Lost World the same way they progressed from Unleashed -> Colors -> Generations.

For the love of god though, leave the Wisps out of it. I feel like they were shohorned into Lost World because it was a decently received mechanic from a generally well received Sonic title.

I think it's going to sell well. Sonic games do.

But yeah, between this and the rest of their catalogue...
