Sonic Lost World Launches on Steam November 2nd.

I really didn't like the 3DS game. Awesome soundtrack though.

The most "memorable" moment I had playing the game was when I lost my balance and nearly fell over while playing the gyro special stages. They required you to stand, and have plenty of room around you. I don't know if the Wii U version (and therefore, this PC version) have those, but they were a terrible idea in the 3DS one.

So, essentially we're getting everything AROUND Sonic Colours, the best one. :|

Nevertheless, I'll pick this up again. The first like three levels are genuinely enjoyable. Especially the desert stage, I reckon.

neat. the game is a lot better than people gave it credit for. level design takes a dip later on, but it's the closest they've gotten to classic sonic gameplay in a 3d space ever.

Huh? What would i ask a IP owned by Nintendo on PC?

I had to double check for the fact that you weren't talking about Bayonetta 1. Sega doesn't have the same rights for Bayo 2 as they do Lost World, Bayo 2 is for all intents and purposes a Nintendo game. I was making a comparison as you might as well ask Sega to port a game they don't own while you're at it

Huh. I thought Lost World was in the same boat as Bayonetta 2, where it'd never show up on another system. But I guess Nintendo only co-published it (Rather than completely doing so like with Bayo). So ultimately, Nintendo doesn't have any stake in the game past that expired exclusivity deal, and only the Yoshi and Zelda levels'll be missing from the Steam release.

It's not a bad game by any means, so if anyone wants to pick it up, $20's a good price! I mean, it's not on the same level of Generations or Colors, but I was still happy paying $60 for it at launch, so $20 + All-Stars Racing is a steal. Plus, as Valen said, the OST's fantastic (Although that's expected from a non-Bioware developed Sonic game; even 06 had some next-level tracks).

If the next Sonic game finds a happy medium between Generations' & Lost World's playstyles (And goes on for a wee bit longer), it'd be GOTY potential.

Wow, that came out of nowhere. What about the NiGHTS dlc? Not even going to ask about the Zelda and Yoshi stages.

They don't, and thank fuck for that because yes those stages are absolutely terrible. What were they thinking making stages for a game on a portable system where you have to be totally aware of your surroundings? 3DS version of the game handles better, but beyond the first 3 levels, it's the worst Sonic game Dimps have ever made. The console version is somewhat better once you get past its awkward handling.

Sega don't own Bayonetta 2?

You guys are going to buy this for Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed right? Because that is what you should do unless you already bought it.

Looking forward to replaying this

Game is kind of uneven, but I liked it more than I didnt. Probably helped i played through the atrocious 3DS version first lmao

It really should've been colors or something. Oh well.

Maybe this will get people to stop talking about how Sonic has been a dead franchise forever?

Like even though Lost World isn't amazing and has a litany of flaws, it still is a damn well made game with polish and endearing qualities.

Holy moly! I can't believe after all these years, Vanquish is finally coming to Steam! Can't wait to play it with mouse and keyboard controls. Sega is doing us good.

Get hype!

Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again...

Considering there are people out there denying that Generations was good, a game that's merely okay isn't going to do that.

Also come on guys, this doesn't mean Bayonetta 2 is coming to Steam too

Why isn't this Colours? Shouldn't it be Colours? I'm pretty sure they meant to port over Colours instead. Are they aware of the mistake they have made?

Anyway, I absolutely loathed the 3DS version. I might be curious enough to pick this one up, though.

Not what I expected, and I was hoping for a different game...but okay I suppose, I find it odd that they chose that game. The game was rather decent for the most part, the back half had some frustrating levels. Might pick it up for when mods come out for it.

I just hope they actually took the time to fix some of the bugs, particularly revealing whatever the final prize for completing all missions.

Weird.

Anyway cool more people can play it. Though with those Yoshi and Zelda levels the Wii U version still has quite a bit of value.

I'm also gonna guess the local multiplayer mode didn't make it.

Also funny how 60 fps is a bullet point when the original was 60 fps.

Protip: port-begging is forbidden. ...Oh wait I've forgot it's alright to portbeg if a game is exclusive to Nintendo but not Sony.

wow, didn't know asking a question consider port-begging. And what is this "it's alright to portbeg if a game is exclusive to Nintendo but not Sony"?

I tried the 3DS demo, but didn't like it. I assume this is the Wii U version? How's that?

It's ok to mediocre. Interesting control scheme concept with weird and downright bad level design in some places. OST is great as usual although it isn't as memorable as other games in the series.

This actually wildly incorrect. Port-begging is only forbidden in certain situations, like going to a Wii U exclusive thread and ask for a port.

This is a thread about a PC Port of a SEGA game, asking for other ports of SEGA games is entirely reasonable, even if misguided like the Bayonetta 2 example, since that's for all purposes a Nintendo game.
