SIE aims to achieve robust revenue growth by accelerating the virtuous cycle that has been established for the PlayStation Platform. This entails increasing active users and play time, enhancing network services and reinforcing content IP so that consumers select PlayStation as their platform of choice.
Targeted outcomes include growth in active users, stronger retention and a shorter cash conversion cycle, from which expanded cash flow can be expected.
We will explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform, in order to promote further growth in our profitability

There's no need to be upset, Sony fans, business is all about revenue and profit growth.

Cool, I think when PS5 came out they should just "dumb" their catalog on the PC, for revenue, preservation, 60FPS+ and that sort of thing, when it's the past, I don't see why not.

Sony should just put all their last gen exclusives on PC, they make money on PC and its not going to hurt their PS5 sales since most people arent going to buy a PS5 just so they can play the Order 1886 or whatever lol

It says they will explore it. That's all. They haven't announced any other game aside from HZD and none of the new games are even being hinted at.

If I were Sony I would port PS4 games. Let them get a second lease. It won't affect their PS5 business.

Also multiplayer focused games should be PS5/PC to have bigger userbase.

Microsoft releases Xbox games on pc: Microsoft are leaving console business and puts their shitty low selling games on pc.

Sony releases majority of games on pc: wow such passion and pro consumer.

It was mentioned ages ago already. Multiplayer games most certainly day and date on PC and console.
Single player games are rolled out to PC later on.
I'm guessing Bloodborne for PC is getting announced soon.

We gonna release older titles to promote newer titles for you to buy on PS5

Good idea. They should just port the older PS4 games like they did on HZD. It should bring even more people to the PS5.

I can't see them make any port before 2 or 3 years after game releases though, wouldn't make sense for their business. After 2 or 3 years though, it wouldn't matter for PS5 sales, no PS5 fan would wait that long to get the game anyway.

LOL do you really think that PS fans are in tears that the PC master race get's a glimpse of the games of the past?
Ofc not. If Sony wants to make a few more $ this is the way to go. It's still a question if it's worth the trouble though. We'll see.

If any of you PC elite's out there are thinking that their upcomming 1st party games are crossing over though... fat chance.
Your hardware wouldn't cope. Eat that!

I mean... of course. Makes no sense otherwise. On steam they pay 30% to Valve and get no other revenue.

Like the OP says, it's business. And business needs to make sense.

Everyone wins.

Especially the company that makes Windows.

Microsoft doesn't see one dime from games sold on PC outside their store. The stake they have on the actual PC gaming market is minuscule. They are trying to change that though.

The SSD and super advanced I/O logic makes First party games only possible on PS5 as of now.

It isnt a bad thing pc gamer having the opportunity to play one or two Very old PS4 game as that only means we Will have the sequel for PS5 exclusively to be announced Very soon.

Spot on. Release the older titles to PC for extra cash.

Business wise it doesn't make any sense and devaluates the console.
"Oh it's anti consumer to think that way!"
Yeah, I don't see anyone calling Nintendo anti consumer. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Nintendo survived because of exclusivity and Xbox is struggling hard this gen.

I have a few friends that bought PS4 just for the exclusives. If they knew it would eventually turn up on PC, they wouldn't touch the thing. None have any intentions to go Xbox because the games end up on PC anyway.

That said, PS5 architecture aims to be so different, that I believe we won't see any PS5 games on PC anytime soon.

I guess is what they will do.

Wow, that's us told.

Sony warriors :messenger_tears_of_joy:

This could be their strategy.

We're confident PC players will fall in love with Aloy and her world. Then, when Horizon Forbidden West arrives for PlayStation 5 and it's time to find out where Aloy's journey takes her next, we invite them to join along!

Basically using releases of old games on PC to sell the new ones on PS5.

I'm happy to wait if it means I don't have to buy anyone's box. I'd rather play everything on PC. (I'd love it if Nintendo got on board some day. not gonna happen, is it.)

I believe the Bloodborne rumors and anticipate they'll port SotC (it has hit critical mass for sales and was already free on PS+).

Another obvious pick is Dreams and possibly Demon's Souls remake, eventually. Otherwise? Can't say, but I anticipate they'll be back-looking and will not include PS5 games for quite awhile.

Also in the report

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) continues to invest in, or acquire, firms with abundant creativity and cutting-edge technologies to build up Worldwide Studios (WWS), an association of first-party title production studios.

Sony aim to expand their studios.

I think all the seem like valid games to expect on PC, especially Dreams. I think Dreams didn't grow enough for Sony's liking, and putting that impressive game on PC will help build the community much better.

It's the best way for Sony to charge me twice as I will definitely double dip.

Imagine having the last of us 1 and 2 and god of war on steam!
