Sony to be conservative with its multiplatform releases in order to protect the value of the PS5 console

lol after the sales of stellar blade he will shut the fuck the fuck up and more ports will be coming .

These losers don't care about the PlayStation value but the short term profit on the expense of the PlayStation brand rendering it useless the minute they started ported their exclusive high profile games to pc in barely 1 year after release
They are saying the opposite for quite some time now. And Stellar Blade is more an exception than a rule.

Too many threads already about 1 event
To be fair, this particular quote is thread worthy. We're likely seeing a change in strategy from them.

As long as they CONTINUE to be conservative im all good.
That just means i gotta wait a year or so for the game on PC.

After that Stellar Blade launch.....they most certainly are gonna continue to be conservative.

Nixxes aint there for nothing.

I'm still convinced we'll see more and faster ports and also day1 pc releases. Sony spends so much money on marketing, the pc releases could profit from it at the same time. They may lose some people to the pc, but many just don't want a pc.

Prefer them all on pc.

Mostly cause its a scalable platform.

I can choose my resolution, framerate, ips/oled.
Preference is one thing but you called them out that they are afraid to compete head-to-head with PC based on hardware. Of course they are. They are a console maker. You do realize that you can play consoles on OLED right? :messenger_winking_tongue: Also, while limited, more games are starting to offer fps/resolution choices on consoles.

Stellar Blade is 2nd party. Marvel fighting is 2nd party. Nioh 3 is 2nd party. Rise of Ronin is 2nd party. I don't know if they have any 2nd party that isn't on PC from this gen. So that seems like a rule. Death Stranding 2 isn't though, yet.

1st party is hit and miss.

More? They barely have anything left to port.

I mean, its more applicable to Nintendo than Playstation. PS offers a pro model so that covers a lot.

Nintendo offers just a tablet.

This sounds like it's in response to this new ROG ALLY and everyone that keeps shouting "Xbox is getting Playstation games!! 🎉🎊"

Sony is about to shut that shit down.
That's an interesting thought.

I do wonder how sony execs are feeling with marketing being used that their games can be played on an "xbox" device.

You do realize that Mario and Pokémon as brands are so recognizable even beyond entertainment? Think theme parks, and merchandise everywhere. That's a level of global recognition PlayStation doesn't hit or come even close.
Some of these fanboys are just delusional, Nintendo is the Disney of gaming it doesn't get any bigger than that

IMO they should either release everything simultaneously or not bother.
These late releases like GOW Ragnarok, TLOU2, Forbidden West, Spiderman 2, etc don't seem to be selling that well, but they still devalue the console and give people an incentive to just jump over to PC and be done with Playstation. They'd probably sell way better if they released them day 1 when the hype is still high instead of 1-4 years later when everyone has already move on.

It is no more applicable to either when it comes to continuing to focus their business in the console space. They have both made a business decision to stay the course and focus in that space. As someone who believes consoles still have their place, I am glad they are not chasing PC.

I am not sure how many are actually jumping ship to PC because Sony has started releasing some titles months later. It has given ammo to old and new PC gamers to say "why own a PlayStation?" But the reality is what you pointed out. They do not bring them all, and they do not bring them day and date. There is still a significant reason to own a PlayStation console.

I mean.....I posed the "who" question to you directly before and you wouldn't answer. So now you are at 1

I don't do quote mining for people. You can believe what you want. I'm just pointing out for the others here that listening to you on this issue would be listening to incorrect information just a day ago. #gaslighterPRO

Yeah we get it, it's business as usual. Releases are getting closer and closer every time though unless I'm mistaken

Go ahead Sony, do you and we will see with time.

God, it looks like some nintendo blind fanboys dont know how to understand text. Playstation is the most famous brand in videogame history, that's a hard cold fact, or do you know any other brand that could be used in so many co-related areas without devaluating the brand it self (Playstation network, Playstation Plus, Playstation Home, Playstation Vita, Playstation TV, etc etc - and note, note everything listed was a huge success, but the brand it self continues to be strong) ?

Mario/Pokemon, for example, are more recongizable? Aboslutely! Do they bring more money? I'm pretty sure they do. Can Nintendo expand them to cover other services, so to speak? Nah... :-D

I believe only now Nintendo will try to expand its 'Switch' branch, given the success - bu I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo does not even try, given all the Wii > Wi U thing (and I have a WiiU, a Switch and a Switch 2)

lol....I didn't provide information. I asked questions.

The wording gets less committal each year. They are also walking back from gaas. Perhaps there is some course correction going on internally.

Something that has only happened in the last year or so is the complete implosion of the Xbox console platform while the switch and its successor continue to smash records. There is also the general failure of subscription services across the board. I'm sure Sony has noticed this and is probably informing them of what kind of business strategy they should follow.

Astro Bot on Switch 2 would be a deliberate and measured approach to taking the franchise off PS5.

The meltdowns would be glorious.

Crazy to think we are only a few months from PS6 being announced.

If we are to expect PS6 to launch in November 2027 and following the timeline of PS5 it will be announced April or early next year.
