That moment when you score 500 points higher than everyone on your team.
It can be useful to get a push forward but it's not worth going out your way to kill someone.
If I get in a sticky firefight that I just jump or swim away and go paint somewhere else. Not worth the effort.
I do think the guy has a valid point in that case. Not getting any reward for defending (as in killing the enemy) means that there is less intensive to do so, except for at the very end of the round to get the win, as you mention. What is the best way, getting rewards for kill or not, that is a matter of opinion though, so there isnt any right or wrong answer to it.For the team win, it's tactical with kills since it stop the enemy to paint. Extremely tactical during the last minute, I'd say.
Happened too muchOr, the bad version: When you score over 1000, and lose.

Oh my lord, that final boss. I'm taking a forced break right now to keep myself from smashing the GamePad.
Right. What a bizarre thoughtThere is no way Splatoon will make it's way to 3DS, right? snifff
I definitely think this is the best way. If kills were rewarded with exp it would end up like every other objective mode in shooters where people just farm kills. And screw getting put on a team with three chargers camping the spawn on Saltspray.
I mean, in sense kills are rewarded as time spent respawning is time not painting. Just have to pick the right fights.
Ranked is based of of W/L anyway I think.
I don't know what this talk is about. I always try to hold key defensive positions and end up with a lot of kills, ground covered and points. Kills are very valuable, but you shouldn't hold an area you've painted all game if it isn't highly contested.I do think the guy has a valid point in that case. I am a sniper.
I am not complaining about scoring less than people who cover ground and kill.
I am complaining that people who die multiple times and kill nobody score higher. I am helping the team more. I should have a higher score (and more exp).

I think I'm getting the hang of the .52 Gal. It's pretty good for defensive and offensive setups, more of a support weapon honestly considering I don't think it's as good for ink coverage.

That's like whining why people who capture points in Battlefield or Flags in Halo get more points than the guys who don't.
If his team is winning and he's racking up kills keep the other team down where they can't spread ink he should be happy. Its about being a good team mate and knowing your role.
I don't think the game cares about which weapons the players are holding when matchmaking. Also, this thread moves so fast. Why do they put all the chargers in the same team?
Are we still at the point where we have to point out yet again that the game isn't about killing opponents, but to DYE THE SCENERY?Meanwhile, them guys who are dying a lot and not killing people are getting more points than he is!

I don't think Nintendo designed this game for people to camp and kill other players without them understanding what's going on. It's not the behaviour they want to encourage, obviously.
Tips for the last level with Charger?
While I agree, once you make a push into enemy territory you've gotta be pretty decent at killing the other team to make it work. I'm going 8-1 a lot and it isn't that I'm looking for people.
