Yep, this is exactly what I was expecting. Dat finger licking.

They go a bit farther with it than you suggest... yes, the next thing often resets the situation, but still, there IS some progress in the series.
I mean, Keitaro has pretty much told her his feelings by the end of the animes, it's her who's holding out... and it's clear she does have feelings for him. That's not a complete reset situation, only a partial reset on her part; his feelings don't change.

And no, I think that that ending you refer to there is suggesting that they're gradually getting closer, and will continue to. I think that was the clear intent.
I would rewatch Love Hina but fuck that.
B-b-b-b-but the split ends!
We should all post pictures of our hair.
Maybe it'll be a threesome.
Only if one of them is tied to a chair and has to witness everything while being humiliated for his or her sexual prowess.
There's not really a huge amount of budget for anything, which might confuse those who think that 80's OVA's such LOGH generally tend towards having great animation.
I hope the animation improves a little as I get into the nineties...
He's European. I bet he doesn't even wear deodorant!
Not really relevant, just reposting it because it came to my mind.
Im just going to leave this here

The amazingly creative way in which the censorship's handled in Koe de Oshigoto is really the only reason to watch it... and what a reason it is!

Nobody in the English-speaking anime fandom uses kawaii anymore. :I
My hair is fabulous and all of you would be completely in awe of it, so I'll save you all the trouble of becoming my slaves because we all know how that turned out.
I'll probably be bald by age 35...

Eureka Seven AO 3:
A step down from the great first two episodes, but this was still good. Much of the episode, both in terms of plot and theme, was centered around the gap between the older and younger generations. The racism and ostracizing that Ao was subject to, and the difference between people who stand back and make excuses versus those who take actions. This is mirrored not only in Ao's resolve, but also with Generation Bleu during the episode. I feel like this was an important episode for setting up what will come later on, as well as reflecting on the themes that I think the series is going to be concerned with. We'll see where things go from here.

Thankfully my family has never suffered from baldness. Unfortunately they've had the tendency to get shot, stabbed, or beaten to death. :( Hope this doesn't prove to be the case for me.

Well unlike baldness I've never heard of hereditary stab wounds.

Committing murder must be so easy in Korea. Just strangle them, place a running fan in front of their lifeless body, and close the door.

Not that convenient ways to commit murder are always on my mind or anything.

Sometimes, when it feels like life is hard, and I feel so down, and just . . . want to . . . sleep forever, I am tempted to turn the fan on before I go to bed, and to just leave it on. I hear it whirling as I lie down, then, and I cry as my life flashes before my eyes.

Korean fan death?

Funny little OVA. The concept of a dojikko becoming an eroge VA is pretty fun. Will check out the manga.

Don't leave me hanging!
You'll see when you get to the end. lol

Learn it or get ntred? Sounds like I need to invest in this book.

Sakigaf needs to get it in (I'll switch back if the show doesn't get hype soonish).
It's not about NTR! lol
I don't know if I can go back to an animu avatar. The shame is gone!

Only if one of them is tied to a chair and has to witness everything while being humiliated for his or her sexual prowess.
The ghost of Izayoi!

This would have been a better animu than MGX!

WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT OH GOD LEDOUCHE

That fucking eye, man. That eye, I tell you.

For better or worse, I consider that to be when the show truly jumped the shark.

It was certainly the start of something.

Code Geass has more than its share of really stupid moments, but it's so flamboyant in everything it does that it doesn't matter.

Tsuritama 3

I don't know why it took me so long to pick up on Haru's weird speech pattern.

Now that the plot has basically revealed itself, and Haru has stopped being actively irritating, I'm liking the show more and more. There's some incredibly wonderful off-model animation here. It's easy to sympathize with Yuki when the direction does such an effective job of giving his problems an amount of visual intensity equal to his perception.

Space Bros 5

I'm never sure what to write about with this show, but it's one of my favorites of the season.

It was great to see more present interaction with Hibito. He seems to have a much better idea of what he wants than Mutta does, and I want to learn more about how he feels.

I don't think I could ever drop this show at this point. I want to see Mutta's success too much.

Now you can sort of understand why its my favorite anime of all time.

That's high praise. I liked Haibane Renmei but I didn't really understand it completely the first time I watched it. I probably need to rewatch it again.

I can't see why people can hate on nano.RIPE OPs. They're great.

R1 was such delicious mechaporn.

Code Geass made me actually like mecha. I used to think mecha was just boring robot battles and refused to watch anything that had it. Funny how one show can change my hate for an entire genre.

Ah, I love the reactions of people watching Code Geass. Truly a show for the ages.

I still think the Love Hina manga was one of the better influences to have experienced coming into this bizarre crazy world. It's right on that level of being genuine enough to offset the complete and utter nonsense that constantly occurs.

Anime had rad-ass songs, but not much else. Koalla's va was the pits :(

Love Hina was my first manga. Something about it just separates it from the usual harem manga and resonates so deeply with me.

Anime made me cry bitter fanboy tears though. Especially the OP. Man, it ticks me off to no reason.

I love the soundtrack too. (The OP's fantastic as well!)

I think I'm going to cry again.

Crap, I need to watch this.

Maturity, bitches.
OP rankings eh.

Well in no particular order.

  1. Space Brothers
  2. Polar Bear Cafe
  3. Saki Achiga-hen

Best ED is Bamboo Scramble from Polar Bear Cafe and is the one song of this season I like to re-listen to.

The best OP I've actually listened to recently is from Astro Fighter Sunred.

X. OPs I skip.
Tsk tsk tsk.

If not for Lain, Haibane Renmei would easily be my favorite anime ever as well.

I did watch the anime before reading the manga, maybe that's part of why I like the anime more...

So good... how can you hate that?

But anyway, I thought the anime was great beyond the OP and music, too. The comedy was just great, when it was on... and it's such a crazy series, too. :) Sure, it cuts out a lot of the fanservice from the manga, but it's plenty good as is.

I would rewatch Love Hina but fuck that.
Bah, Naru and Keitaro have a better relationship than plenty that have come after it in the harem genre (or before, on that note) -- it's clear like 90% of the time or more that Naru is the focus. Keitaro doesn't go after other girls much at all, it's all a ridiculously large number of accidents.

Dude, I believed in fan death for 18 years of my life. It wasn't until my friends thought I wasn't joking that they told me other wise. DAMMIT! WHY AM I KOREAN?!!

Is it a cultural thing? I'm actually pretty curious about this, especially since you have an actual Korean perspective on it. When did you first hear about it? Do people generally believe it in and mention it in everyday conversations? ^^;
