I've always wondered but been too lazy to find out; what does the I.G. in Production I.G stand for?

The I and the G
Started as the joint collaboration of visionary production manager Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and popular character designer Takayuki Goto, the company was established on December 15, 1987 as I.G Tatsunoko, a name bearing the initials of its founders as well as the renowned studio they were from. The new company met with success and in 1993 its founders renamed it Production I.G. Since then, the studio has enjoyed yearly growth in sales and size.

I don't know why I like the extremely simple didacticism in the Smile series. I have to assume it's because of its unrelenting and enthusiastic genuineness. Being a kids series probably helps, because like Ginga e Kickoff!, I don't snicker and roll my eyes when people talk about trying their best and believing in themselves.

Also, I finally noticed March's accent. Man, Arata really opened my eyes to accented Japanese! Arata still wins!

It's pretty funny, imo. I don't usually watch moefest shows(drawing a blank trying to remember any), but I enjoyed the first episode quite a bit. The characters are refreshingly forward.

You do need to have decent tolerance for gratuitous fanservice and moe, though.

It surprises me, but I think I'm done with Aquarion EVOL. I loved it early on, I liked the characters and the style, but I can't stand the direction - at all. I didn't even watch the last few episodes. The show didn't do anything to piss me off yet, but I just know it will do just that sooner or later, and I don't want that. Weird.

I'm glad you can appreciate that show. It definitely has a pretty interesting art style and music choice. the whole show is cute but mildly disconcerting and uncomfortable.
