Outside of the lame fire CG this was the best animated fight scene yet. Next weeks episode looks like it's gonna be amazing.

With the exception of the Candy fight. Dual tech was good stuff though, even though the cg flame was indeed lame.

After rewatching it, I actually like the first episode of F/Z. Yeah it's a lot of dialogue but a lot of it was necessary in order to introduce the characters and their motives. I have a better grasp of the rivalry between Kiritsugu and Kirei and after spending some time with the VN I have a greater appreciation for some of the supporting characters too.

Not gonna lie though, the last few minutes of that episode were so great.

I still need to re-watch episode 1, but my biggest problems with it was the pacing, I could see what they were aiming for with it, but I don't think they'll completely successful with the approach. Plus it still has the worst scene in the entirely of the series!

In time you will come to appreciate the work in its entirety. Then you will be one of us.

But you gotta ditch that avatar first. Ho ho ho.

The information presented was necessary, but they didn't always present it in a way that made sense in a visual medium.

No, but see, it's totally fine because something visual is occurring while words come out of their mouths:

So it doesn't get better after Episode 1?
It does. But around episode ten, I personally couldn't be assed to continue. I didn't think it was bad, I'm not even sure I considered it boring - I just lost interest. It's one of the shows that are kind of just there. YMMV.

The one scene where I can agree with that is the
Church scene where Kirei is introduced
. That felt really dragged out honestly but all the other introductions I really liked, especially Kariya's in particular. With the story regarding
Aoi and him wanting to save Sakura but at a really heavy price
I felt a lot of sympathy for the guy. :/

Edit - lol @ the above post

Fate/Zero 01:

I'll give this one or two more episodes, but so far this is totally not my thing. So far the characters are bastards, and one scene in particular just rubbed me ever so wrong. Some people are impressed by shock value; I'm not one of those people.

You may end up being very good in the end... but you've left me with a VERY poor impression, Fate/Zero.
Hey, some of the characters aren't bastards. Granted, some of the other characters are even bigger bastards than you realize, so I suppose it doesn't balance out very well. And some of the characters that I think aren't bastards will probably be revealed to be bastards before the show is over. Okay, yeah, the show is pretty bastardly. But so is humanity!

There's more shock value yet to come, but it's not too bad for the most part.

I think you'll like Rider, though. He's kind of the opposite of all that.
lol

Classing up the joint.
If anyone can do it, the good doctor can.

Naughty choice!
Did you stop after Episode 10?!

If you did, that's a very bad stopping point. (Seriously)
You should really move onto 11!

Ouch. Not too much on Envelope, they're mah friend :(

damn even I think fate/zero is great (no it's not the second coming, there like 3 incredibly shit episodes, bad cg and some of the character design look like ugly fan art) apart from that it's great.

Took me 3-4 trys to get pass episode 1 so bad, should of listen to gaf and read it on wikipedia instead :(

Episode 11 is awesome

I don't remember. Around episode 10. Might have been after ep 11. No idea. I don't even remember what happened in the last episode I watched.

Brazil

Living in the shadow of Amaz
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya "7"

Nagato and Koizumi
are surprisingly awesome while fighting. "Fumoffu!" "Second Raid!"

"Scarab healed your wounds," bwahaha. I love the randomness of this series' humor.

More like 11 to reach its best. I'd say it's good quite a ways before then, but hey, maybe a numerous amount of AnimeGaf doesn't agree with me.

I think it's great from the first episode. Episode 11 is certainly fantastic, bu the show was great long before then. The first few episodes make it pretty clear how special the series is going to be. Some of the later episodes just elevate it even further.

... for AnimeGAF's sake, I'll give you one last chance. That's it.

Eh. If you already feel that indifferent/repulsed towards it that you won't even review parts of the episode, I don't see the next few changing your mind. Don't have much else to say, besides that the people here that enjoy it do so for a reason (hell, more than one). YMMV, etc., etc.

You still mah Nichijou Bro, but wish you could have shared in the enjoyment.

So the strongest attack in the entire show
is a straight punch.

The final arc was easily the best part of the show, I just wish that troll-mode Dune had more screentime. :(

If HeartCatch had been a 2 season show, instead of 4, it would have been a lot better than it already is. A lot of the fluff episodes could have been cut out, and then you would have all the real story and action episodes, which would have nicely filled out a 24 or 26 episodes show. Not everything needs 50 episodes, Toei. :(

As it is, it started out slow, picked up steam around half way, then spiraled into the stratosphere with the final 5 or so episodes.

Poor Yuri really didn't get much out of this, her father tried to make a clone to replace her, and then dies right after they get reunited. And Dark Precure didn't survive either. :( And they didn't even show her making the winning pose with the other Precure. :(
