I don't use rotten tomatoes to know what's good , I use it to learn what is mind numbingly bad so when my mom asks me to go see battleship or grown ups I know that I'd rather stay home and that the free dinner and popcorn aren't worth that much torture. I'll watch below average movies , but some movies are just actively painful to watch.

Don't worry, some opportunistic fucks are going to come in and knock that down for the clicks. Just wait.

....Not meant to prematurely attempt to poison the well with regards to legitimate reviewers that may not like the film. Just pointing out the inevitability of a few Armond Whites seeking a spotlight.

.

Legitimate criticism is absolutely fair game. The whole "What's this Star Wars thing anyway, I don't like Harry Skywalker reversing the polarity, it's hardly Kubrick, at least the Prequels tried new things like Taxation" - 3/10 brigade is coming though

Tbh, I don't care. 50 reviews and still 100% is enough for me to know the movie will at least be solid. I did have faith in JJ Abrams to deliver, as I've loved all his work, but there was still a tiny grain of doubt. Thankfully these reviews essentially clear that doubt away. In all honesty, I'm elated. I really am. We've basically been waiting over 3 decades for another back to form Star Wars. Three….decades….

You do notice that "Yeah, sure, whatever." can come off more telling than it was meant to be?

How about just quit with the eye rolling attempt to be "that guy" acting all smug and thinking they have made some sort of profound commentary by applying their freshman level sociology lessons and some hip shooting freudian analysis to a frigging aggregate review site and the light hearted thread following it.

100% and an 8.6 average score?
I'm pleasantly surprised

100% with almost 60 critics and 16 top critics, woah.

I haven't read the LA Times review, but I'm hearing it's almost certainly a rotten. So, it might land in 98% or 97% territory by tomorrow.

Still great seeing it's at least this good.

People discussing the validity of different scoring systems and sites and how they are critics or reviewers are the most funny thing ever.

That's it, given this particular context: from all the thousands of films this could be examined with, SW: TFA has to be the less appropriate, as it's coming with one of the biggest marketing campaigns ever done for a film, and entire decades of nostalgia and fanboism behind the series. So the results aren't going be exactly unbiased.

Plus some of the most amateurish action in the series, in the form of the droid production line.

That was my favourite Sonic the Hedgehog level, tho.

(I remember it was hastily shot in reshoots or whatever)

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
I'm sure when I inevitably see this, I'll be somewhere in the David Poland camp, as someone who doesn't like JJ Abrams as a director. Given my thoughts on the other films Abrams has made, I fully expect to have similar problems with the characterization, arcs, and senseless mysteries here.

Yeah no doubt.

Cool Facts: Game of War has been a hit since July 2013
Imagine if only 1 reviewer dislikes it, the butthurt would be legendary.

That was painful to read. But ok.

Well, you never really can be unbiased/objective. Reasonable should be achievable.

Reading through the LA Times review, I'm guessing that may be the first rotten.

The review is best summed as "eh, meh, eh, meh." With more words.

So happy (and relieved) that reviews are positive, looking forward to watching this even more now. I can see me going to see it 2 or 3 times.

So it has some flaws but is otherwise a fun action/advenutre movie. Sure does sound like it fits in with the OT then. Cool.

The first rotten review actually talks about how the other reviews are all positive. Which is a weird thing to talk about in a review.
