By the way there is no grace period. If you don't have you serial key on the 20th you won't be able to play until you get it.
Maybe you're new to the MMO space, but every second counts at launch. With these style of MMOs it's completely cut-throat and any time not in the game gives everyone else an advantage, particularly in PvP and the economy. Since this isn't a skill based game, time is everything. Also, you want to get as far away from the starting areas otherwise you're going to be bogged down by tons of people.
LOL! Wow Bioware....not one single MMO has done this that I can even think of, EVERY damn MMO has a grace period of at least 5 days. Some people won't be getting the game till the 22nd. Clusterfuck.

Source? I thought it was confirmed awhile ago that there would be a grace period of like 5 days. Jesus.

The Game officially launches on December 20th, 2011 at 12:01AM EST (Pacific: December 19th, 9:01PM PST; European: December 20th, 05:01AM GMT, 06:01AM CET). There will be no ‘grace period’ post launch in which those who are in Early Game Access will be able to continue to play the Game without completing the following required steps for launch:
1. Fill out your contact information
2. Set up minimum 3 - maximum 5 security questions to protect your SWTOR account
3. Redeem a Product Registration Code (This is different from your Pre-Order Code. Your Product Registration Code is the code tied to the official Game.)
4. Sign up for a recurring subscription or enter a Pre-Paid Game Time Code
Ah, I don't remember any MMO that let you play early either. Not being rhetorical if you do know one. WoW certainly doesn't.
Can't give grace periods when they don't give early release.
Headstart is pretty irrelevant in an MMO, there's nothing cut throat about it at all, I have no idea what the hell you're going on about. Unless you're in some sponsored guild going after raid world firsts or whatever TOR has, that is.
I swear, some of you new generations of MMO players creep me the fuck out.

Holy shit, it's a video game. It'll be OK. Trust me, been MMOing since Ultima Online. It's really not that big a deal.Maybe you're new to the MMO space, but every second counts at launch. Bunch of MMOs allowed early access. Most recent that I played myself was Aion.

I'm posting a reply to this on almost every page now, lol
There is no official word on a grace period at this point. The last Bioware rep on the SWTOR forums to come out and say there would be no grace period was corrected and said that "at this time we cannot provide information on the grace period we're offering" or something along those lines.
We should hopefully have an update by Friday on this.

Ok say you play with 3 other friends. They get 7 days early access, you get 1. Don't you think that would mess up the plan when they are all already playing and have 6 days head start on you? That's the only problem I see with it. (I won't be getting much time ahead myself /shrug)
Do we need to actually pay the sub fee before we can play? Damn, so broke...
Look a couple posts up: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=33266476&postcount=1709
No, you'll just need to apply a credit card/debit card on the account, but the first month is free.

God damn, Early Access ends at 9:01PM PST on the 19th, so that means I'm going to get kicked out for an evening >.<
Really Bioware? We couldn't even get 24 hours grace period? Jesus christ.
Been wondering the same thing. I know I have my fingers crossed.I wonder if the grace period change is indicative of them being able to ship the game out earlier.
Going to be hilarious when people are at cap when the game comes out for everyone on the 20th.

I swear, some of you new generations of MMO players creep me the fuck out. Slow it down a notch so we don't have a lot of GOGOGOGOGOGOGO people who make you feel bad for reading descriptions or listening to dialogue in a dungeon.

If only EA would've offered a standard edition digital option. I'll never understand why they didn't.
They did.
They did.
Linky, there is an option for PC Digital Download
However, you can only download it using Origin Client.
STILL no place to upgrade my SE pre-order code to a CE one? smh BW.
The CE preorder codes are no different than the SE ones. They all give the same early access and color crystal. The actual game key is what gives you the CE stuff.

I did read that they are allowing retailers to ship the game as soon as they get them, so chances are you'll get it beforehand. Pretty retarded to boot folks who aren't doing a midnight launch, but I guess they want to sell digital copies?

So do we have a time of when it starts up? Midnight of the 12th? The 13th morning? Ehhhhhhh?
