Sounds like randomly generated loot like wow's doing in cataclysm raids, no thanks.

It's just as likely that the loot is just broken into categories of what classes (and hopefully even specs) can use them, and will randomly pull an item from that list. I mean, it's entirely possible that it's randomly generated stats, but I hope not, and that statement doesn't say that it is.

Seeing as I'm working on the OT if you want your guild in the post drop me a PM. Doesn't have to be now, I've only done like 1% of it so far but just when you want.

The only thing keeping me from pre-ordering is the lack of information on the price of the monthly sub.

Anyone know how much it is? I'm just afraid Bioware will charge $20 a month and say it's because the game is so high quality when $20 is just too much.

Also can I pre-order from Amazon, get my code, and then cancel?

Just another guess at this point.
I dunno, it's not shown as a placeholder date or anything, they actually went out of their way to advertise it. Interesting. That date is pretty much exactly when I expect this game. From what I hear, it's still pretty damn buggy. A September/October release wouldn't be a good idea.

Every MMO is buggy at release. WoW was so buggy, Blizzard even removed the bug reporting feature from the game a couple days prior to beta ending.

You can cancel but amazon will cancel your access code also.

Edit: Apparently they may not cancel your code.

So, quick question on the guilds: is it one per account? I'm wondering because I have like three different games I'm a part of and each guild I'm in is planning on playing TOR with its own guilds.

I remember when Burning Crusade beta was going on. We were like a month from release and the game was buggy as all shit and entire zones were completely unfinished. Then about a week or two from the release date they dropped this mega patch that just fixed everything.

Whatever the state of TOR currently is, or is shortly before release, you can always hope for a good outcome like that (except Blizz still massively underestimated the effects of an entire server's population trying to cram itself into a single zone at the same time would be).

One per account until launch.

I canceled my Amazon order and they didn't cancel my code.

you people need to stop screaming 900+ voice actors, if you keep adding the different languages the game will come in.

I do not care if its 900+ if I'm only going to hear 300ish for my language.

It is like you people are part of the hype machine and spreading this junk.

And apparently the build the beta testers are playing isn't the most current build internally. So whatever leakers are claiming, they're full of shit.

BTW, there's a rumor going around that if BioWare confirms someone has leaked images or video from the beta (to sites like betacake), they get a lifetime IP ban.

Right now it's one guild per account. When the game launches you can have different guilds on each character. It's just a way right now to get everyone together onto the same server when the game launches.

Why would they stop someone from giving them money at launch? I don't believe that.

Like they've stated, it's 900+ across 3 different languages.

What's the problem here?

Maybe, but we both did mention that part. That hype machine comment was completely uncalled for and does not make any sense.

*Edit*:

Yeah, it seems like people tend to miss that. I have heard the build was more than 5 or 6 weeks old when the server got shut down. That is an incredibly long time for a MMORPG close to completion and every recent leak could already be heavily outdated come Tuesday.

I think the only good thing that will come of this is that the game will probably change Bioware's habit of "release game, release 3 patches, forget the game exists"

That usually goes for all single player games. Obviously they want to keep players playing because it is a subscription.

If amazon cancels your access code after you've already redeemed it, what happens? Does it instantly get removed from origin or something? idk

But losing a customer forever just because he or she leaked some info or videos? I don't think any company would take that hard of a line especially without stating the consequences clearly and often.

I could see them doing a ban for the ip form all beta events including those that Ea has.

Apparently EA/Bioware said redeemed codes won't be cancelled. So far, nothing on my account would indicate any different. I bought a standard edition at 3 am the day preorders launched, got a code, redeemed, then decided at 9 am I wanted the CE. I cancelled my SE then, and swtor.com/preorder/code still says I have my code registered.

I really care about the voice actors, it's an industry I care about and this will influence my gender choice. Just thought this might be interesting: IMDB lists Alex Fernandez as a number of roles. He's mostly known for playing Latin characters in games and on TV. He also has "Smuggler" listed in his roles for TOR (yes, I am aware of IMDB's reliability). I wonder if this is a random smuggler or the PC (I hope not, I'm not a fan). Jennifer Hale as Trooper just guaranteed that I will be rolling one as my first alt.

Would you mind sharing your source? This is something I've been looking for (half-heartedly, I'll admit).

They did? I thought they said the exact opposite. Apologies if I was mistaken.

Sounds like BS spin to me.

Same thing for me, so I can confirm.

I don't know the correct answer. Just going by whats happening with my account, and the EA/Bioware thing was straight from this thread several pages back.

Well, I already had intentions to play this with a group of friends, but I was always on the fence about what class to be... now that I know David Hayter is voicing the Jedi Knight, I now know what class to be!

Jedi Knight! Thank you, David Hayter! Can't wait to hear this man, again!

Same for me. I redeemed a code for the CE, but canceled that order for the DDE and my code is still there.

Remember when that EA leaker claimed it was 20gigs JUST for the voice acting and everyone said he was full of shit because he was trashing the game?

You should play the class you ENJOY playing...not what class has a voice you like.

I think that liking or disliking the voice actor in question is as valid a factor as any. For example, no matter what class it was, if Cam Clarke was the voice for it I would not play the male version of that class. I can't stand that guy's voice, and it drives me up the wall to no end every time he appears in another game. Sadly, Bioware seems to be one his biggest employers. (And yes, I think he was great as Liquid Snake it's just that the guy only has one damn VA voice. If he'd show some range like Jennifer Hale then I wouldn't complain.)

They do state it clearly & often. It's in almost every email, is posted when you install the beta & used to be at least, in the login as well

I do pray to whatever god on my bare knees that Bioware will never, and I mean never, resort to whatever the fuck it is Blizzard is doing right now.
