That mouse + keyboard + headset looks like cheap junk. If its made by Razer then I'm semi-surprised because even their lesser quality stuff usually looks good.

It's the use of white plastic that looks awful.

The original version they showed off was grey and looked so much nicer. Hopefully those are not final and it looks more like the original mock ups

Already exists, and works very well from what I have heard.
I have a naga. Got it on the cheap from a woot deal.

The first 6 buttons are easy to use, but 7-12 less so. I don't think it will completely replace all hotkeys for most people, but it will let you keep your fingers on wasd for your most commonly used abilities.

I'll assign a second row of abilities to the naga and keep the 1-10 keys mapped to the primary bar. The default attack will probably be mapped to 1 on both.

I don't know what I'd do with all those buttons. My 5 button mouse is enough. And I need it for my crazy TF2 control style. I can't play it without a 5 button mouse.

I'm a weak-minded fool.

Quit WoW over two years ago and said to myself "never again."

Spent all weekend watching beta movies and reading after being just the tiniest bit interested.

Watched the "Return" intro movie -- that was it, CE preordered.

Wish i got mine cheap off of a woot deal rather than pay $100. But at least i got a free upgrade to the naga epic when my naga's usb cable shorted out. (Wired naga's back/foward button is in a much better spot than the wireless, but its still kinda hard to hit).

After spending some time using it all the buttons were really easy to hit. Completely replaces the keyboard for abilities except for modifiers alt/ctrl/shift. If i still played wow i'd be unable to play without using the naga for abilities.

Yessssss, join ussssss.

There are new videos up on alterswtor. There are 4 showing the interior of some spaceships.

One thing that caught my attention was the very irregular sounds of footsteps in the smuggler video. The other videos had normal regular intervals between the footsteps.

Does the smuggler get some sort of swagger step? Or a limp?

The ships interios are HUGE... Too big. I understand if it's a decision due to 3rd person camera but still...
Like the Trooper ship a lot (Briefing room!)
Dislike the Smuggler ship, looks too much like Millenium Falcon/Ebon Hawk. And it's ugly.
Don't like the Bounty Hunter ship either. Ugly (inside and outside)
Jedi ship is nice inside... but it's has too wide bow. Oh well, better than BH/Smuggler ship anyway.
EDIT Phantom, while there was no video of (thoguh BW SWTOR site does have all right video of it) looks good inside... i hate the sleek look of it though.

I've officially gone blackout. I don't want to wear out the wow factor im going to have when I boot this up for the first month or so.

do you think we will see a mass exodus of WoW players joining SWTOR once the game goes live?

It's very possible. I'm not sure about right away but if positive word spreads then I don't see why more and more WoW players wouldn't leave. WoW is very dated now and I don't think Cataclysm fixed it.

Damn, Imperial Agent looking boring as fuck. Every single class looks more fun. No wonder nobody wants to play it. A second-class citizen story with boring gameplay.

WTF BioWare?

Hard to say, but I think this game has the best shot of any MMO released so far to make a serious dent in WoW's playerbase.

I for one can't wait to leave Azeroth forever.

Same with Smuggler really... Besides, IA and Smuggler mirror each other, with main difference being the weapons...

All of you in the beta should go read the new sticky post...
You talking about the beta forums?

And IMO Smuggler looks very boring to play (just like IA). I doubt they'll differ much from each other.

Both look pretty fun to me, but I give the slight edge to IA, but it is hard to tell just watching videos. I do still think the portable shield barrier or whatever they call it looks silly, it does seem to function well enough, however.

My main could very well come do to what kind of class/role the gaf republic guild needs more as every class in the game looks pretty fun to me.

When you guys are saying Smugs are boring are you talking about the Gunslinger spec who just hides behind cover or are you including Scoundrels?

Well, can you show some Scoundrel gameplay... (and Agent operative)

Ugh, please don't say so. It's the only class that looks like an Engineer (Warhammer) or Saboteur (Rift). I love playing those type of classes that are more support than anything (hell, I was a 75 Bard in FFXI before the first expansion came out). If it can't play a support role (snares, stuns, AoE debuffs, etc) I'll be sad.

You should just wait and see. Maybe you should try it out during the September stress tests, rather than relying on people, who judge a class from low quality footage leaked by someone slowly clicking at a skill every 3-6 seconds.

I really hate to break it to you, but that's how the game plays.

Really not a big deal to me. It's a beta.
It certainly could affect your testing plans. I know it affected mine.

^------This. I thought Trooper looked like the most boring class of all time from watching publicized footage. Playing something for yourself and watching someone else play it aren't necessarily the same.

The problem with Smug to me is that it looks like Mage-esk gameplay mechanics (sit back and dps), but without the feeling of casting powerful spells. Every class I've seen looks bad ass; Smugs don't.

And this is coming from someone who switched his main from Smuggler to Trooper because of that.

You're such a teaser Giolon, hotdamn.
Don't worry, it's really inconsequential to anyone outside of beta. I just wanted to encourage anyone who doesn't check in there frequently to do so. :)

Now, that's just wrong! I may not be in testing, but I already played the game at conventions and neither are they forcing you to be a clicker nor is there a global cooldown of 3 to 6 seconds. Apart from the missing auto-attack, combat was actually barely different from other MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft. After a few minutes I was already using the existing keybinds on a low cooldown of 1 to 1.5 seconds and combat was a lot faster than what most of those leaked videos are showing.

Now, they may have made some changes, but I highly doubt you are playing the game very effectively, if you are indeed clicking some abilities every 3 to 6 seconds, as that would translate into missing out on one to three global cooldowns between each ability. Every experienced MMORPG player could tell you that is insanely ineffective and has very little relation to how the game was designed to be played on an average to high level.

*Edit*:

Not really. If you are playing WoW like that (picking the most common example), you are doing it wrong.

Not trying to be offensive in any way. You just won't find a lot of people wasting several global cooldowns anywhere near the top (edit: or upper half) of any list in any MMORPG and it is definitely not what the majority of content is designed for.

Just get the MX518 and use keyboard macros instead like normal people.
Normal people are inherently inferior to others. Using a Naga I have keyboard macros on top of mouse macros. Let's you use pretty much every move in an MMO arsenal at will. It's really amazing.

The sticky being talked about is that they managed to bring everyone's characters from the previous phase of the beta back for this next phase. Previously it was said that this new build would come with a character wipe.

There might be issues with appearances and other things yadda yadda beta report etc..
