They're not going to do Wookies because armor wouldn't work on them.

Personally, I don't give a shit about armor if I can be a MOTHERFUCKIN WOOKIEE YEEEEEEEAAAH!

Right now I am set on a very evil Imperial Agent Operative specced as a Medic.

That seems like a conflict of interests. :p

I will only heal people if it is in my own interest. If they're no use to me they can bleed to death for all I care.

(that was in character btw)

It's a shame that we can't pre-order the soundtrack. I don't want to dish out the cash for the Collector's Box but I'm sure they'll offer it separately around release. Speaking of the soundtrack, I knew he was one of the composers for the score already but I was reassured when I found out Gordy Haab was one of the composers. He's the same guy who did the score for Ryan vs. Dorkman 2 with Kyle Newmaster, so I know he's already got some fantastic pieces written for The Old Republic. In fact, there's an old Gamespot featurette for the music (different from the developer diary featurette) where some of the composers are interviewed.

There's an easy way to get the soundtrack. Install the game, go to the Music folder

That would be kind of a dick move especially if they're offering it separately. I'd personally like to show my support, granted it's phenomenal.

If they don't sell it separately from the CE that's what they deserve.

Doubt armor is the only reason why, the whole dialogue system and wookies only works as their april fools joke.

He didn't quit WoW. He was banned for botting Archaeology.

Nah, once I pegged out Archeology, then saw what it was going to take to get the epic bug mount (Tol'Vir sights I believe), I had the "Oh fuck this shit..." and didn't do another dig again. Of course, I was somewhat close to quitting anyways, due to IRL stuff getting in the way of playing, mixed in with a general need to stop playing after 6+ years.

As for the loss of subs, here's a link to the related stuff:

http://pc.ign.com/articles/118/1186203p1.html

^^

Is for the 2nd drop in subs (300k figure I mentioned earlier)

http://technology.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979381236

^^

Is for the loss of 600k subs the previous quarter.

As for the general player distribution worldwide, give me a few, I've seen it multiple times in the past, I'm still trying to dig it up. What I've seen so far was that one month after WoW launched in China, 1.5 million folks over there were playing it. Just a little FYI.

Yeah but it'll make a generous gaffer (who stopped playing the beta due to Deus Ex or Battlefield 3 or lack of interest/time) lend me his key and I'll avoid death for now... :p
You don't get a key. They attach it to your account.

:lol @ limited copies in a digital world.
This is probably the one case where by sheer coincidence Gamestop happens to be correct. EA is limiting the number of copies available (digital or otherwise) to "ensure a smooth launch".

Would that require getting their login info, to the point that it could IP trace of getting the account banned? Or is that just all a crazy myth?

"Hi EA, I'm on vacation for a few days in Canada. I'll still beta test the game as I'm a dedicated tester!"

Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma'am!

No, don't lose your account... lol. Don't think they trace IP for beta banning though.

Um, yes they do. They monitor your IP and if it changes drastically from your last login, you're banned.

However, if you physically move during the beta you can email them and let them know so they won't ban the account when the IP changes. That's the only exception.

Going on vacation to a hotel is bannable. You're allowed to install the beta on multiple machines in your home (I installed it on my laptop just to see if it'll run as it's lower than the minimum CPU - and it does), but you can't play from a location other than your normal IP. It's an instant ban.

I moved temporarily to my dad's house for a couple days, and I'm using the beta there. I move back in a couple days. The day I moved (it's the same state) I emailed them telling them what happened and that I should be back soon.

They sent me an email saying "we look for frequent IP changes" which means I should be okay. I guess I'll send them another email telling them I'm on my way home when I actually move back.

Greetings Humanoid,

I am Protocol Droid A2-F8, Human-Cyborg relations.

I have received your transmission regarding changing your location for playing the game.

As part of our internal processes, and in an effort to preserve account security, it is normal practice for us to monitor constant IP changes. This process should have no impact to your testing experience.
In the unlikely event that you should encounter related problems, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Should you need further assistance with this matter, please do not hesitate to let me know. Galactic support is our specialty...

Sincerely,
Protocol Droid A2-F8

This is demonstrably not true. Ask around the beta forums.

Apparently Fonds really wants to play a female Twi'lek smuggler with pink skin.

hahaha, I lol'd. I'm playing human though. I'm really not that interested in any of the "alien" races.
If I could get my Mon Calamari on I would, Twi'lek just isn't extreme enough for me to get my sexfantasies on.

But you will with anthropomorphic crustaceans?

I see.

haha

I'm honestly tempted to play on a RP Server, I just hope there ISN'T any freaky stuff happening.

What are people doing about character creation. Are you going to create your Jedi and Sith and join the whole server load of other Jedi and Sith, or are you going to hold back and wait for people to get bored and create your own?
Can't help but feel everyone will just be a Force User on launch.

I'm automatically going to a RP server. Generally the players are more mature. I don't mind doing small amounts of Role Playing and I do like a friendly community.

Twilieks will be the Night Elf of this game.

Most people will be, but I'm guessing its a 2/3 force user versus 1/3 of the other four classes. Imho that's not too bad.
