And where are the EU invites! I want one >.<
Yes, but even then, they can sort it out . How many SW fans would choose D3 over a SW game. ( Ok many *looks at SW: Kinect* but still enough for them to have seasoned testing crew)Blackface said:The problem is they don't just need Star Wars fans. They need people experienced with MMORPG's to give them constructive feedback( that are also SW fans).
They seem to do random sampling. It's not like you have to have the best hardware or have an average of 5 post per day for an extended period.Ebris said:Maaan. I really hope this game comes out this fall, or that I get into the beta soon. Had a TOR forum account since September of 09 and I believe beta registered for that long as well. Does anyone know if they choose active forum posters over normal registrants, or is it purely random/computer specs alone?
Anyway, absolutely going Sith Sorcerer. Still torn between Merc or Powertech with Bounty Hunter - Merc's firepower sounds awesome, but Powertechs are gonna be few and far between, so that might be a better strategic move.
That's why I didn't get into the survey testing. I "liked" Star WarsBlackface said:The problem is they don't just need Star Wars fans. They need people experienced with MMORPG's to give them constructive feedback( that are also SW fans).

It sounds like it won't be moderated at all, which I'm quite surprised by given the extended time he have had with the beta. People on the official forum are asking how much BioWare paid him to make sure it's kept positive!CzarTim said:
You don't need money to say nice things about this game. You just need to play it.bjaelke said:It sounds like it won't be moderated at all, which I'm quite surprised by given the extended time he have had with the beta. I wouldn't know. Just thought it was a "funny" comment.Ignis Fatuus said:You don't need money to say nice things about this game. You just need to play it.
I'm also curious to see how far he got and how much he will reveal.

Something like 2-4 hours from now.CcrooK said:When we getting the PA hype article?

CcrooK said:Sweet. I'm not expecting too much than what we already know. Keeping my hype checked at the door. Maybe I'll get surprised. Who knows.
Whenever a site gets an exclusive (Gamespot, mmorpg.com etc.) they always launch the article/video the day before the Friday update. This could very well be something like that.Fonds said:They'll probably allow Mike to tell us about a few minor yet unseen features of the game to keep it believable.
But I don't really believe that they'll let 'm say whatever he wants to say. With the NDA that they have going on and all the articles and videos that are hunted and taken down seconds after they're put up, I just don't believe he has complete freedom.
I am super excited though. Really curious what he has to say about this game.

I'm going to have to see if I can track him down in game.
Looks like the only bit of new information he spilled was the holoprojector, which is indeed a really neat feature.

I don't want to hear glowing praise in a review. I want to hear the negatives.Giolon said:If I had gotten special early access by knowing someone at Bioware, and then gotten permission to speak publicly about it, I wouldn't be critical either.
I was saying that his special treatment probably colored the impressions he ended up writing, whether or not he would admit it - not that it was a good thing.Gvaz said:You don't, but it certainly helps for a lot of games.

Why wouldn't I like it? Why would I? Having criticisms in a product being a bad thing offends me more than if whatever they were reviewing was bad or not.

The original KOTOR still had the Hutts as crime lords, a bleeping droid companion, Boba Fett armor, a Yoda race Jedi, a wise talking street smart character with a Wookiee companion, and plenty other similarities to the movies. It doesn't seem like they're changing much for TOR that wasn't there in KOTOR, since that game was pretty Star Warsy to begin with. What KOTOR had was a compelling and deep story that explores the universe beyond what we get in the movies, and hopefully TOR will have that.LAUGHTREY said:Kotor had a pretty original story that still felt like Star Wars to my recollection, I'm replaying it now and it really seems that way. But TOR needs to expand to a huge audience and part of that is basically having the same exact story and setting as the movies to appeal to everyone. It sucks, but I'm sure we'll manage, hopefully the individuals stories aren't as cliched and predictable as the prequels.

For some reason the 100MB installer wasn't working, I restarted my computer, and now its working fine, games downloading now, I read its like 30 GB or something insane.

Maybe cause I've just entered the holidays and there are no games on the horizon.

Well, in all fairness I didn't really get either specifically for TOR. I've been meaning to upgrade the video card for a while, and the mouse was on woot.com for $50 a few weeks back.Moaradin said:Haha those are the exact things I got preparing for the game.
