On the topic of a revision, I sure hope they can add another button or two somewhere, perhaps below the Steam button or maybe add back in two triangular-like buttons inwards from the trackpads like in earlier prototypes. I feel like it can sometimes be easy to fill up all the buttons and still want to bind more stuff without putting it on touch menus.
the people who use button click instead of touch release for the track pad are terrible people
people who don't have double tap for reload are terrible people too
Four grip buttons in the back would be ideal.

Thanks. Now I need to consider whether to wait that long or just get a third when it's outJust this back in June:
We'll probably have to wait for info from Dev Days in October. I could really do with the next controller being a bunch quieter. Also having another set of paddles would be extremely useful as I'm always stuck with only one or two buttons that I regularly use but can only go on face buttons, or I'm using action sets regularly and need a better place to access them.without moving to the face buttons so often.
Just remember that It's ValveTimeThanks. Now I need to consider whether to wait that long or just get a third when it's out
It's insane to me that the #1 used config for Super Meat Boy is with the dpad on click. How are people playing such a challenging platformer with such a poor control scheme? Maybe I'm the bad one lol

I remember Valve saying that any revisions they make to the controller won't really be adding functionality. The Steam controller does everything it will do for the foreseeable future.
If you're comfortable with the ergonomics and feel of the controller, I don't think there's really a need to wait.
Has anyone tried the steam pad with rocketleague?
Yes, I've only used a 360 controller a couple of times, but the Steam Controller for probably 95%+ of the time I've played Rocket League.Has anyone tried the steam pad with rocketleague?

The only oddity is that the game won't usually detect the controller if it's turned on when you start the game. Make sure it's off, start the game, then turn the controller on. It's a known issue and Psyonix don't want to alter the behaviour of how controllers are detected so won't be fixed. Unfortunately I can't find the link right now, but it definitely works this way.
I mapped the acceleration to the right trigger, and full press right trigger to boost. It works really well.
That's odd, it's always been an issue with the controller and Rocket League for me (or at least for more than two months).I've never had this issue, but I haven't played in the past 2 months I think.
I've never had this issue, but I haven't played in the past 2 months I think. Pretty much only using the Steam Controller, and same config as you.
Rocket League was bundled with the controller initially.
But yes, it's the controller I use for the game.

My Steam Controller doesn't doesn't get recognized by The Witcher 3 anymore. I can see the community profiles, but the controller doesn't work in-game. It's the GOG version. Anyone know what the problem might be?
I'm having a tough time aiming in FPS. Specifically Overwatch. How are you guys doing on that game?
Sometimes I feel like the only one interested in new stuff that could be added to the software >_<
More support by developers for the Steam controller would be amazing. I get crowd sourcing for past games but new ones should employ it.

Apologies is this is old or silly to ask but I'm trying to play Doom with the steam controller and I don't know what to do. This is what I'm experiencing:
- With a 360 controller, no problem whatsoever.
- I plug the steam controller, steam tells me to enable BPM overlay. I do that, the game crashes while trying to load.
- I disable BPM overlay (there's a warning telling me some controller functionality will be disabled) and choose recommended controller configuration, the game runs fine but steam controller works weird . In the menu I can move with the stick, confirm with 'A' and cancel with 'Start'. In-game I can aim with right pad, shoot with right trigger and jump with 'B', but I can't move.
Am I... doomed? Thank you in advance.
Are you runing the Steam beta client? Is your gamepad firmware up to date?
That's great! One of the reasons I haven't started Human Revolution is due to lack of mouse+gamepad support. Playing through Mankind Divided with the Steam Controller could be a nice way to enter the series.Deus Ex Mankind divided seems to be getting Steam controller support, based on the new bundle with it:

I think for the first time ever I got called a hacker when using the controller in Counter Strike. Went 40-4 in Inferno Casual somehow, lol. I really need something that records a lot longer than Shadowplay.
Quantum Break is getting full Steam Controller support as well, which is surprising since the game was exclusive to the W10 store up until now.
It isn't. It's just the standard "full controller support" banner and stating that it is recommended to use a controller, not mouse and keyboard
