I knew this was going to happen. There's a reason why AA and even Nog didn't go into Werdum's guard. Fedor is too cocky and paid for it. Nog has very good bjj Werdum has elite bjj.

Nog did go into Werdum's guard more than once actually. AA avoided the ground game at all costs.

Werdum's ground game is nasty. I always felt he was the best BJJ artist at HW hopefully, others think the same now (fuck Mir and his overrated hype train). Still never expected Fedor to get submitted, especially with how easy he shrugged off a prime Nog.

I think my friend just made a nice payday on this one. The Fedor era was unparalleled dominant, but all things come to an end.
This, honestly it was just a matter of time. I figured it was either he'd retire undefeated or lose. Fedor doesn't look to bothered by the loss though.

So unlike Fedor.
What in the hell makes you charge in on a bjj focused fighter, and even more what makes you stay in there when you get out of the first sub attempt (arm bar).
I do not get it.
He did the same thing with Nogueira, but then he was probably better on position (going in tight to Nogueira's chest instead of sitting up)

The Cung Le fight was great.

Fedor was careless, I believe he thought that Werdum was more hurt than he actually was and thought it was a chance to finish the fight.

Werdum wasn't really hurt, you could see it in his face and the punches just nicked him. Fedor should have let him back up. :/

Jose Aldo is a pretty solid argument also. I'm convinced he could compete in the UFC 155 division.

Yeah, Aldo is a monster. IMO they should just bring the lighter weight classes into the UFC and do away with the WEC altogether.

c'mon Dana send a tweet

I really would like to see him fight Ubereem though.

I bet he waits until tomorrow, implying that he didn't even bother watching or hearing about it.

Fedor didn't get careless. He did the same thing he does whenever he gets a knockdown. The difference is that he did it against an elite grappler. He usually slips out of those situations before they even blow up like that.
yea, careless...

he forget he was on the floor with a great BJJ'er, throwing arms at him.

Exactly. wtf was he thinking? Werdum is one of the best no-gi BJJ practitioners in the world, I thought he would want to avoid going to the ground as much as possible.

That's why it's a mistake. Shame the fight was so short we couldn't see if Fedor was really "out of shape" as some of the stories have been circulating. Werdum really had the perfect moment to go for that type of submission early when both players weren't sweaty.

His text probably blown up now.

The aura of invincibility is gone, so I dunno about that. Lots of people who fight Fedor are beat before they even start, no more.

You're right! Who is going to fight next anyways?

Can't believe Fedor has finally lost. He basically gave Werdum exactly what he wanted and Fedor paid for it. I'm so shocked and soooo disappointed right now. Feel like I've been following Fedor forever and for him to lose to Werdum so quickly just feels wrong.

He didn't do it in the 3rd fight against Nog, he avoided Nog's ground game and kept it standing. I really didn't think he would try to do rush in on Werdum on the ground. He got careless and paid for it.

Fedor really needs to come up with a gameplan for his fights now instead of doing things naturally. Research on opponents is really important -- Werdum probably knew Fedor would dive into guard ala his old fight against Nogueira.

He absolutely would. The difference now is that Fedor and his team have no leverage.
Well good, asking for co-promotion is semi-douchey. Then again Dana took out Fedor's Tapout shirt.

there will be no upset tonight folks--this is fedor we're talking about. This new religion persona makes him look even more scarier.

Amateur mistake by one of the greatest fighters on the planet. Fair enough Fedor has great ground skills himself but getting caught in a triangle of all things is a little shocking.

I expect Junior Dos Santos's name to get thrown around a hell of a lot on MMA forums now.

Well, this week Fedor got beat. So I guess next week Brock is getting murdered.
It'll be something if Kratos defeats the Incredible Brulk.

Make Werdum and Ubereem fight next, give Fedor the loser?

Then hopefully he goes to the UFC. One can dream.
Seriously needs to get signed with UFC already.
