At the end of the mission, all the mission participants are given an equal amount of EXP. Your EXP is a currency that each character can use for multiple things. You can use your EXP to level up, which increases your stats and gives you 3 bonus stat points that you can distribute however you want to specialize your characters or you can use it to get new special skills, or improve those special skills.
This is nice because you don't have to jump through hoops to level people up.
The hardest of all the Eucross side/training missions, IMO. I had to play this over and over before I won. You have to have area attacks and counterattacks to get it. When I finally did it, it was by the skin of my teeth. This was the only mission like this I had a LOT of trouble with.
Yeng's side of it is so easy (although I did have a laugh during one attempt when one of Yeng's opponents went and stuck a spear through the back of one of her other opponents, disrupting the 4/4 balance and causing me to fail that way).
Abert's side of it though. Yeesh x_x
I was just wondering if I might stand a better chance if did some work on his weapon. I haven't really looked into modifying them with accessories yet past sticking a few status ailments on the ones Yeng and Ruelly use.
If any of the accessories have multi-target magic skills, and if I switched Abert to Mage Officer, and if I redistributed his stats I might be able to make it work. Maybe.
But possibly not now
Acquiring a skill as soon as possible seems to mitigate the chance of having it happen. Once you've gotten past it, it doesn't seem to reoccur.
Manually looking at the Acquire Skill tutorial (#21) from the tutorial option in the personal room menu as soon as you have access to the menu may also make it not happen.
I've actually had it happen in the pre-battle menu after making it happen the first time and working around it. If I go into "Acquire Skills" and scroll through the pages of available skills I get the fsfont error dumped on screen.
We had to include the screen which came over from the Japanese release, and as written originally, it took itself far too seriously and would have been ignored anyway. By making variable versions with a funny tagline, at least people MIGHT notice the screen, and maybe think for a moment about the ill effects of piracy on small game companies.
But glad you're enjoying them. There's a secret one, too.
On the mission front I haven't managed Battle Training - Fortitude or Police Knights Special Training yet though.
Fortitude's 25% health starting clause sucks because I don't want to let my characters die get incapacitated.
Police Knights Special Training I just flat out can't do x_x. I'll try again later after I've trained up Abert and he can kill stuff better. It would be so much easier if he had counterstrike.
For Fortitude, purchase the "Healing Orb" party skill. You start the mission with max brave, so just spam it for the first couple turns and try to minimize damage exposure until party members are healthy.
The special knights training is very difficult to complete when it is first unlocked. Basically, as you noticed, both need to be able to one-shot any enemy from a counterattack. If I recall correctly Abert and Yeng-hua were at level ~25 in their base classes (more attack) with maxed out Gun Savvy and set Counterattack/Counterstrike wait option.
It would be a shame if that doesn't happen. Gaijinworks deserves to work on this as well. It also increases the chance of physical Vita copies immensely.
Now I'm eagerly waiting for the UMD to be shipped out as I'm about to finish my second playthrough of Devil Survivor Overclocked and will follow up with FE Awakening which hopefully I can finish my first playthrough before starting SN5.
I learned the hard way that the ESRB does NOT like this on game boxes. We had to change the SN5 logo placement because of it. Very surprising since it was very PG as far as I was concerned.

I've seen you post that there is a secret one a few times already, and I have a question.
Is it a secret due to the circumstance that causes it to appear (tied to game progress or hardware/physical) or just that it's an infinitely small chance of showing up?
as well. I just saw the Summon Night 6 trailer and it seems you get only one summon instead of choosing one? I have only played SN5 so I don't know how other games do it but I really liked the choose your parter from SN5. I don't like how the summon looks like on SN6 (looks like the hamburger Digimon) but at least the two main characters look awesome.
I don't know if it would be considered a spoiler but I saw
Pariet
on the SN6 trailer, is she playable? She is my heavy hitter right now so I would love to use her again in SN6.
Something to do with their advertising code. You can't put overly sexualized images on the outside of boxes or in ads where anyone can see them. INSIDE the box you can do whatever you want, appropriate for the rating you got. We ended up just swapping the manual cover art and the outer box art since the manual art had the bigger SN5 logo that covered more of Arca's underbutt.
But it was crazy. I sent the box in for Rating placement approval and it came back rejected for the art being too sexual. Completely unexpected. It's a crazy business, I tell ya.

We're only in day 6 since release. I have some secret stuff I've put in games that have never been found. Secrets are no fun if you give them away. The journey is the reward.

Thought it was just about the retailers not wanting certain covers. Wonder whether Catherine just fell short, you got a tighter judgement, or if they changed policy since then and codified it rather than it just being an issue with a few retailers. I know there's cases like not allowing a gun to be pointed towards the viewer on covers and that wasn't always restricted I think.

Assuming it's been shored up since then. They're definitely overly restrictive now (IMO). I don't see how the original SN5 art with the under butt was overtly sexual.
Post Battle 9-1.
Kagerou has a flashback and says something like he "totally touched the nether just now, no doubt about it"
The flashback was a little older than that, so I'm not sure if the "just now" qualifier should have been there.
(I didn't realise the conversation would end after that line, so I didn't get a chance to take it down exactly).
Post Battle 9-2
Ghift
: "On the contrary, I'm here because it's time you and I had a honest chat."
It sounds like a vowel so it should be "an honest chat"
End of Chapter 9, if you chat with Kagerou he says "
...and I might have been turning to a Netherbeast without knowing it.
". Should that have been
"turning into"
?
Post Battle 10-3
I'm really not sure about this one because after a bit more consideration it does work as it is but... yeah. Not sure.
I'm including the "main" four lines of this speech to give context for the last bit, and I'm spoilering the whole lot because it was quite a good speech and I don't want to wreck it for anyone who wants to enjoy it in it's correct place
Erst

Entrusting your well-being to another is a laughable act of folly.

Does anyone know if there is a new game plus? If so, what will be carried over to the ng+? I been doing a lot of rematch grinding for exp so I don't have a hard time dealing with the bosses. I want the next playthrough to be easier so I can save night conversation for all characters.

Yes, there kind of has to be because of all the endings. If you play really well, you can only see a handful with one playthrough and a few replays of Chapter 13-15 on that first play.
Offhand, your summon cluster members and their magic carry forward, which is a big one. Obtained Party Skills come across, including slots you bought. There are some other things, but I'm not sure offhand. I'll look.
Too much underbutt, according to the ESRB. We had to use the larger logo to cover it up on the game case. Yeah, I thought it was weird, too.
(Thanks for pointing out the text corrections, too. They're already fixed.)
If anyone can give us a reliable way to get the Yeng-hua black screen attack freeze (battle animation when she attacks with her regular or upgraded sword puts up the name of the attack, but freezes with the screen black) to happen, it would be great. We've only had three reports of it, but we haven't been able to reproduce it even once in three days of trying, and until we can do that, we can't fix it.
Actually, looking at the 360 Catherine cover again and thinking about the Tactics Ogre and DoA 3DS covers... uhh... maybe the ESRB has a very specific issue with underbutt? Those were all covered up, but what Catherine has is cleavage on PS3 and more the lower part of the small of the back on 360. Which is definitely suggestive in my eyes, but just one look at the Bayonetta 2 cover shows it's probably less about being suggestive and straight up "how much actual skin is exposed?" as even a full on butt shot is fine if it's clothed.
Cleavage meanwhile, uhh, I'll just attribute Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions and like 90% of Cosmopolitan covers for why that was probably OK by the ESRB.

Edited variants means a base version got past the ESRB fine, and were made for the likes of Walmart so they would still would stock it. It's why I wonder if maybe they codified the stinginess of the likes of Walmart since then (there's probably some solid reasons but in the end makes it feel even more like one retailer is demanding what is "ok" for literally everyone else in the country) or if this is a particular hang up of the ESRB that's been there (given that this a VERY SPECIFIC AREA that seems possibly more likely, or so I hope in a way.)
Can someone explain to me how XP is split between characters? I have a few people that are lvl 9 (while my mains are 22) and I just did a mission with my other characters weakening everyone on the map and then Abert giving the killing bow on all of them hoping that he would get all the XP for himself (didn't work). So do killing enemies give XP? Is it just the XP reward at the end of the lvl? Does the character need to be alive at the end of the fight or even in the stage till the end?

Pretty sure EXP is a hard-set battle reward, evenly divided among all participating members. There is no scaling for level, and it doesn't matter what the unit does in the battle.
I'm not sure if fallen units get EXP, and I'm not sure how swapping in reserve units factors in either as I haven't done that.
Just bought the game, good so far, except a little wordy at the start. Gameplay however is exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks for bringing it over.

Page 29 of the manual. Experience points are shared amongst all units that were deployed at least once in the battle. Incapacitated units get nothing but bitter tears and fermented hummus.

Yeah, there's a LOT to set up at the beginning, and it takes probably more than a half hour or 40 minutes to get through it and get to your first real battle. But the foundation is necessary to set up the awesome story to come.
Once you're past that, it's pretty much a rhythm of event / battle / event / battle. Some events are longer than others, but rarely is it as long as the opening.
Thanks for posting this! Vastly prefer the animated 2D art.
Had to take a few days off from playing since I was busy with family obligations, but back to it now! Finally decided to that I'll be going for Souken's ending variation to hopefully see what his deal is. Especially curious to see if he softens up any.
I'll have a look at this tomorrow. Probably another case of Hotmail deleting something it thinks is spam without telling the user or putting it in a SPAM folder. They're by far the worst about this (as is their doppelganger, outlook.com), but live.com and yahoo are a close second. It's why we always recommend people just switch to gmail. Better spam controls and none of this no-notice deletion nonsense.
You can save mid-battle using the suspend feature from the select menu. It will do an in-battle save and then you just say "no" when it asks if you want to suspend now and you go back to the battle without actually leaving. You only get one of these kinds of saves, but they are very handy. That way if you die, you can return to exactly the config your battle was in (turn count, stats, etc) when you suspended it.

No, there's just normal and easy. The game is slightly easier or harder depending on which Cross you choose, so replays, even with the same hero, are not exactly the same, though new game+ carryovers make successive plays easier overall.
Maybe this was noticed and fixed, but when you can change portraits in the ally menu screen you can also look at JUST the portrait with select, but the button to view either portrait or landscape (long view) is wrong, saying press O instead of X. Guessing a hold over from the Japanese version?
Thought I'd point it out in case it wasn't noticed with the other bugs.

It got reported last week and fixed for the new build (it's only for the 2D portraits, the 3D one has the right button prompts), but I'd rather have something like this mentioned twice than not at all. Thanks!
