Kara (Supergirl) is on the TV when Lois Lane is at The Daily Planet. She is being interviewed on the news.
This girl?

Me likey! I actually was quite happy with the Supergirl we had in The Flash but to get a blonde in this day and age is a win I'll gladly accept!

What I watched has tons of unnecessary characters and zero interesting scenes. Also looks like it washed with an Instagram filter.

no idea who this guy is but looks like he is protecting Lois(?) and if its the drones giving him a protective shield, then SHOOT THE DRONES, guys!

That's Mr. Terrific and the drones are his T-Spheres... They do a LOT of things and are bulletproof, IIRC. He's one of the smartest people on Earth. Like up there with Lex and Bruce and The Atom.

In the comics, he and Powergirl (from Earth 2) were a couple.

Looks good. My only concern is other superheroes appearing in it. I just hope it actually fits well into the story instead of being a "Hey! Here's all these other characters you can look forward to in our Cinematic Universe!"
The only things this sets up is Supergirl. Gunn was clear he’s not trying to setup a bunch of stuff with it. There will probably be a brief cameo for Kara and obviously Krypto since he plays a big part in that movie.

Well, I can see what he might see in her :p

Be curious how she ever gets represented in live action!

Well, that would have to involve the Multiverse and you lot keep saying you don't like Multiverse for reasons that never come true so... Don't count on Powergirl ever coming into the DCU.

I love the tone. It's so sincere and hopeful. He's even saving people and not committing terror attacks. His Klark disguise is so dorky and awful it's amazing. His suit also doesn't fit him, so he looks fatter than he is. Krypto being present feels like they have confidence in it all. John Williams and the people cheering his name, it's what Superman should be. I could just imagine a father taking his son to see this film and the boy's mind being blown by the sincerity and hopefulness of it all.

Trailer was ok but the dude has an idiot face, in some shots look like discount caville but without the charisma.

Trailer was ok other than the nostalgia bait music.
I enjoyed the first Guardians and second Suicide Squad so I'm definitely interested in seeing what Gunn does with Superman.

Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner’s 12 issue run of Power Girl in 2009 was insanely fun, sure there’s fanservice but it never felt like the book was coasting on it but rather just naturally fit her confident attitude and the upbeat vibe of the book.

I need to read more of Palmiotti and Conner’s Harley Quinn run, I know it eventually has a six-issue arc where she teams up with Power Girl.

Also, I want to believe:

I would not be surprised if we ever did get Power Girl with the huge rack and boob window. One thing about James Gunn is that he doesn't give a fuck when it comes to character designs and their translation to film.

I really liked the trailer. That dog is the only thing that feels odd. I hope it doesn't feel out of place in the movie.

This Superman comes of as weak, a coffee cup thrown at him makes him blink...? Even the crater he creates why falling from the sky...looks weak somehow...

Calling it now, Supergirl will be much stronger than him. Other than that, looks okay I guess. Glad Louis is hot and apparently hetero.

This Supergirl gets shot with arrows while drunk.

I thought it was okay. :lollipop_smiling_face_eyes:

Lackluster parts:
  • Too many characters
  • CGI isn't breath-taking
  • Didn't really excite me
Good parts:
  • Supes actor looks great
  • Nicholas Holt as Lex looks 100 times better than Eisenberg
  • Visuals are comicbooky and not overly serious like Snyder's version
  • Lois looks good
I'll definitely go and see it this summer, I just hope it isn't like a McDonald's burger; good, but forgettable and without any real substance. We've had enough of that with Marvel and DC should feel a little more serious even if it is colorful. I think this will be very popular with the younger ones thanks to Krypto and the more optimistic feel.

I want it to be good. Reeve was the best Superman, then Cavil. I thought the trailer was decent, but I need superman to rise above.

Do stuff like this. There is more in this scene than the special effects.

DC / Warner have been a victim of their own success on this. It's clearly very difficult to follow up an absolute grand slam casting like this.

Ew heterosexuals!

This dumbshit doesn't realize what WOMEN want to see in a superhero film.

The Clark/Lois romance is 10000% for the ladies, no need to add girlbosses, neuter the guys, or pander to any niche audience. Show Supes putting himself INTO harm's way to punch the fuck out of a giant monster and then sweeping Lois off her feet (literally) and you get 95% of adults. Toss in a cute dog and you just got all the kids.

Huh it's like aiming the movie at the actual audience is what makes these studios money. Those people complaining about that "problematic" stuff has always been a small minority. Most people don't care and just want to watch something that's good
