Jin is the closest the game has to a 'Ryu', he does everything pretty damn well, has pretty safe buttons and solid but unspectacular damage.

If you wanna get technical, the problems cropped up all day Thursday. Aris and other players would get drops all day and have like one fight inbetween ten plus drops. Even the server lists were populating the same people for them. And Thursday night is when it got worse.

Yeah....I used to be at least decent in TTT2 but haven't touched a Tekken game since 2013. Should be able to brush up this week and get back in Tekken mode again.

Expecting anyone to isolate, fix, test and pass through certification a fix for something like this is hilarious.
Especially over a weekend.
As a new player (to fighting games generally), this game is seriously overwhelming. I guess in a good way but still overwhelming.
The lingo is confusing as well. "-13 on block", "high crush", "hit confirm", etc. and I'm like, excuse me?
I obviously didn't know what I was getting into! I just liked playing Tekken 3 with friends back when I was 12 years old LOL

It's the same issue on pc on day 1. I couldn't connect with anyone in lobbies and warm up. Now it's better and I can connect with players but not all the time. And despite being the most active fighting game on steam, the number of people in matchmaking was small.
But hey 4 days is better than over a year of no response.

I think expecting a fix for this in less than a week over the course of the first weekend is crazy.

Aw man, I didn't pre-order T7 so I didn't get a code for Eliza. Is she really a pre-order exclusive or will she be available to buy separately eventually (because I don't see her in the PSN Store).

You can get much better than that.
From most launchers you get 3~d/f~2, f+2,4,4 S! dash d/b+2~d/f~3. Easy and strong damage.
As an old player, I still feel that way. XD
Is funny sometimes reading or asking about easy combo inputs, expecting replies with button prompts, but instead: "Oh, sure: f2, u3, 4, 3, d1"...and me all like..."wut?". XD
Added Guilty Gear Rev2 to the current fighters rotation. Was doing the tutorial which is nice, except no button prompts. But a "pink P" instead of Square. Struggled at first, but managed. XD
So, yeah. Don't feel bad. Just enjoy your time and have fun...and patience.

If lobbies aren't working barely 50% of the time then there's still something wrong. The issue is that online play should be a convenience rather than having to put work in. If it takes the same amount of work as it would take me to go around someone's house, or invite someone over to play some Tekken then online isn't working as intended.
Oh don't give me that. They ported over most of the customizations from last-gen anyway, and upon close inspection, the customizations in 7 don't really look much better texture or model wise than those in Tekken 6.

Sweet! Well, I guess the thing I'm mostly confused about when it comes to the jargon are the "minus" numbers. I'm guessing it refers to frames but I'm not sure.
For example, someone a few pages back asked this:
"i.e. should should i avoid strings that end with me at -11 on block?"
Can someone translate this question for me or give an example what they mean?

From my experience and a lot of folk on discord they do work, and if you are trying to say to me that making a simple post(one post) on discord looking for online games takes as much effort as contacting your friend and then hopefully walking to his house then you are truly lost.

I mean it takes one post to message my friends. So it's the same effort. The problem is lobbies aren't even working 100%. I've not had 1 game with any of my friends online that hasn't kicked us back to the lobby.

I'm really hoping the majority of the DLC costumes really aren't bikini, idol, school clothes like the news has hinted at. Tag 2 had a lot of fun alt costumes, so I was hoping for stuff around the lines of that.
