TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Yeah he us one of those weird language inconsistencies. Also all the Chinese characters speak Japanese.

It was kind of weird that Wang in T5 and up speaks Mandarin (iirc) Chinese but his grandaughter Xiaoyu speaks to him in japanese. Thinking about it, Feng doesn't say crap, he never says much besides grunting and throwing scowls. The Laws are Chinese American and speak English, and Lei Wulong is a Jackie Chan pastiche, so he speaks English too.

I love the fact that people are enjoying Tekken who have never played the series before. It's kind of surprising that so many people hadn't played Tekken but I suppose it hasn't been super popular since Tekken Tag 1 and Tekken 4 which is like 15 years ago now. Now please Lord Harada, give us Lei Wulong!

I had played the series before. I had button mashed in Tekken 3 and I had played Death by Degrees (loved that game btw).

But I was never good at it, I didn't care about the story nor did I really play with anybody as the fighting game scene was non-existant where I lived (Karachi).

With online though, I can now play a genre that had remained foreign to me for so long.

I hate chapter 14 so much. Why do they have to make this game so artificialy hard with this bullshit. Yea lets throw away all figting conventions and make it stupid hard. Also the story is as bad as sonic fanfiction. Playing Tekken since Tekken 1 and cant beat the damn boss.

Tekken 2 was the first game in the series I played at a friends. I remember it in the GameFan Magazine and thinking "You can play a Cheetah?". Also played Tekken 4 in CiCi's and Tekken 5 at a family party.

Wait until you get to the special chapter lol, i had to swallow my pride and lower the difficulty to 3 stars, it was either that or something was going to break that day, and i barely beat him.

This might be the first fighting game I've played where I have fun with literally every single character and could honestly see myself maining them.

I've said it a million times before but I am pissed at myself for not getting into this series sooner.

tbh who you end up maining in Tekken is a total crapshoot. All the characters are so great. Even Kuma, the joke character, is more fun and fleshed out than the entire cast of MKX.

I had a number of friends that I'd play Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag with I was typically the best among them but I still ultimately suck at the game. You learn that quickly once you start playing online. I really miss playing Tekken 3 in the arcades though. Still, there are so many characters I love to play and picking up Tekken 7 the muscle memory is still there for a lot of the characters attack chains. I'd play another friend of mine for 70+ matches in a row sometimes on Tekken 3. LOL

Started doing the "trick" to farming edit parts around 8:00 AM yesterday. Switched to doing 2000 versus matches around 4:00 PM. This morning when I left for work, the PS4 version still had 200 matches to go (the game crashed overnight, lol) and the PC version had 81 matches left. So almost 24 hours of non-stop Katarina auto-RK mashing later and it still wasn't done.

Brought my Surface to work and finished it up for PC. Hitting 2000 matches not only unlocks everything, but it's yours outright- no need to buy anything in the shop. Didn't know that all the ending movies from the previous Tekken games were also available...that's pretty cool!

Now to get back to actually playing the game and practicing up!

When in doubt, begin mash Paul FF2 even though I don't know how to cancel the 2 followup :v

But yes, you can immediately tell whether or not someone will fall for low sweep spam if they can't block this string...

I'm sorry 2 random people I just played >_>

(but yeah, PC kinda dead this morning)

Asuka and Lili have been my mains for a while - but keen to try the others. Akuma in Treasure Battle though is a bit lulzy as the AI's not great against fireballs.

VF is dead in the West, but Yakuza was never born there, lol. Also Tekken got made to compete against VF, it's honestly a great fit.

I agree, but VF's time has passed it. The best time for that was when they put out that glorious two page spread with Jin and Akira (around T5/VF4 time I think?).

well, at least used to be back in the days.

I mean, look at that glorious spread

Fought my first "green" rank person. A clear difference in skill from the grand master and below to that. Forget what rank it was.

Game has me hype to actually learn Tekken again.

Well played, universe.

Made to Brawler, but it feels like I cheated since no one was blocking low >_>

(but I did do this one godlike thing where I got a "GREAT" because I low parried a random Xiaoyu that wanted to close it out with a low)

So I guess I need to stay out of the 6:30am window (on PC) if I want to be real >_______>

Oh shit, you cancel Paul FF2 followup by just holding back.

(took like 40 seconds to find in training mode)

It's time to go for 2/hop kick mixup nao :v

(but, actually, they can interrupt the string... but, you know, sometimes they don't :v)

Had a fun time on ranked last night now that the PS4 patch dropped, only a few revenge matches failed to connect and that's it. I feel like I'm still losing to people with very exploitable and punishable strategies though (I'm only in the mid Dan ranks). I have a lotttttt to learn.

At least on PC, people still fall for random lows up to Brawler.

But then, I do run into people that seem pretty real because they block random shit most new players won't...

I then know I'm in trouble when I see that stuff :v

My tekken 7 has crashed 3-4 times now at random times with code ce-34878-0 anyone know what's up. Literally never had a game crash with an error message ever on a console before.

Not sure about the error code, but I had the game crash on me twice last night too (PS4).

I need to stop fishing for that d/f2 launcher with Drag.

Sometimes I get so narrow minded about getting it because I know I can get a guaranteed 70 damage combo and very rarely drop the inputs. Plus pressure them like crazy when they're ready to get up.

By the way, The 'T7 chicken' app has just hit IOS.

Lots of frame data and such, and more convenient than hitting up rbnorway if you're using a phone to look up while you're playing.

I don't think there's a trophy for that? I know I've got platinum and never fought a friend.

Patch seems to have resolved most of the problems for me, I did drop off a tournament once but I think that may have been a general connection error on my end.
I see. So since it was a private invitation it doesn't count for the trophy, I have to fight a random guy to get it.

I only played for about 20 minutes, so maybe that disconnection was an anomaly. I'll be very upset if through an extensive playthrough that shit happens often.

Just discovered that I can side step up and down yesterday..

I am now winning matches more consistently..

Is there any better feeling than side stepping an opponent at the last second just before they unload some combo and then you proceed to stomp them into the dirt??

Man this game needs a tutorial.

My TE2 Stick arrived, just messing around on KI practice to get a feel for it. Looking forward to making the fulltime adjustment and playing Tekken 7 with it.

They are fun to use lol, played pad all my life though so this will be tricky.

So the 2000 fights thing seems to unlock everything except some of the character-specific outfits for Eliza. LOL, still not done getting it all.

Why didn't anyone tell me this includes ALL ending movies of the WHOLE series??

It's a huge nostalgia trip.

Yeah, that's pretty awesome.

I picked this up yesterday and totally dig it. I'm pretty sure the last Tekken game I'd played was Tekken 3 in arcades so I'm a complete scrub, but I'm still loving it. So far I really like Claudio and Akuma.
