TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Why though?

Sound like the words of someone who got their butt kicked :p

Tried her out yesterday and she's really fun, will probably be the first character I try to learn.

The only problem is that dang crying, I try to skip the win pose and it does stop but the voice clip still keeps playing :(

Very first ranked match after the update was laggy as heck. First tournament also had an error. Fun times.

I've come to learn that many beginner players rely on high attacks as openers, so I need to learn to just duck and do a while rising launcher to punish

Cackling like a madman
boss is looking at me like I have three heads, lmao

omg that is hilarious LOL

I play Dragunov on on PS4 but I'm hopping on my xbox version right now in training mode to get used to my new fightstick.

Can you guys suggest a fighter that's kinda simple execution wise?

At least on PC, people still fall for random lows up to Brawler.

But then, I do run into people that seem pretty real because they block random shit most new players won't...

I then know I'm in trouble when I see that stuff :v

To be fair, there's a lot of suggestions online (even in this thread) that people should just ignore the lows.

Once again with feeling, "this game needs tutorials"

My TE2 Stick arrived, just messing around on KI practice to get a feel for it. Looking forward to making the fulltime adjustment and playing Tekken 7 with it.

They are fun to use lol, played pad all my life though so this will be tricky.

Good luck. I gave up because I can't do f,n,qcf moves on a stick consistently. Going back to pad.

Iirc that's the mentality in VF as well.

It was hilarious when they invited Fuudo for a DOA5 exhibition, he was using the guest VF characters and was completely free to lows. The other dude spammed the hell out of them and it actually took Fuudo quite a while to start blocking low.

Its amazing how one move changes everything.Lars is actually largely the same ,but they took away his df+2.It was a critically important key move.

I think they intend for people to use b+4 as his replacement counterhit tool. They sped it up to be 15 frames like df2 was before and on CH it does that throw animation.

Thoughts on Kazumi as a beginner character?

She has a small movelist, a VERY straightforward style and looks great. She doesn't require much in the way of execution but she is very offense oriented so expect being in your enemy's face a lot.

If most of that sounds appealing then go for it. Otherwise there are other easy characters you can learn the game with too.

Wow kat is easy.
Were you not paying attention when people said they got to 2000 wins on treasure battle by just picking Katarina and activating Turbo mode for the 3 button :D

Here's a tip if you're gonna play her:

1+1+2 is fucking fantastic. That string is +7 oB and +9 oH. So hit that string, then do a d/f+4 as a CH fish.

+7 oB from a 1, 1, 2? What the hell. I'm assuming this is a h, h, h string that doesn't jail??

Her 1,1 is a natural combo that leads to 4 options and she has the ability to go into harrier. 1,1,2 ends in a high that does not jail, but despite the +7 on block, it actually has some pushback. You can backdash most of her follow ups mid stage.

Yes, they're all high. 1+1 combos naturally but the 2 doesn't.

She still has:

1+1+1 which is a h,h,m that's -5 oB.

1+1+3 which is a h,h,m that's -7 oB and Knockdown on hit.

1+1+4 which is a h,h,m that's -19 oB but it's a launcher.

Are you fucking kidding me? 3 minutes trying to find a ranked match on ps4 and when I confirm it says connection to opponent lost. Reviewers should've torn this apart score wise, this is beyond frustrating now.

Treasure battle is very abusable and gets boring fast.
And there's to few variety matches.
I've played 77 fights and about 10 of them were turbo/juggle/high damage fights.

Hopefully there's more to come in the future.

Thoughts on Kazumi as a beginner character?

Very easy character to learn and a solid choice to start with. She has the standard Mishima 10frame punish which knocks down, and great pokes. She doesn't have anything very execution heavy like just frames, crouch dash cancels, etc. either.

Feel like I'm going to have to momentarily give up on maining Kazuya for now. He's so damn cool, but seems to be kinda difficult to use. Still trying to get the hang of movement. Any good tips for using him effectively?

Thinking of trying Feng out, too.

Yeah I prefer Kazumi on stick. Like how she feels

Realy great game online tournement feature is glorious...

But I can not deny the game is dry single player wise after you finish story there is nothing beside treasure battle , they destroyed arcade mode few matches and no CG endings is unfortunate

Also there is no tekken TV feature to watch replays for your matches and top players matches it was useful in TTT2

Beside the game is addicting, gameplay is pitch perfect and the best of the series and new characters are serprisingly fun to play

Yeah, wait until you're better at the game to use him. Kazuya isn't just newbie unfriendly because of his execution, it's also because he lacks common options like low-crush launchers and easy 50/50s. Using him effectively requires the player to be able to move correctly and that their punishment is on point.

I never thought I'd see the day when the wife decides to play Akuma. And she's pulling his rage arts on the fly (no shortcut!).

This is the first Tekken I'm taking seriously, got a question, sometimes I'll hit my launcher but it won't knock the opponent in the air, they'll stay standing. What's the deal with that?
