Just like Virtua Fighter 5 once you leave kyu and get to dan you cannot be demoted to kyu
Not really randomly. Tuesday maintenance is a thing every week. Usually happens around midnight my time (UK).

Don't feel discouraged. I got to green ranks with like a 30% win rate and a couple nice streaks. The rank system in this game is weirdly volatile if you win or lose a few in a row

Played against rip during his stream yesterday just to see how I'd do against a pro player. Got bodied by his day 1 Miguel lol. It wasn't a complete blowup, but I dropped all my combos every time I hit a launcher and was getting hit by Miguel's forward charge attack a ton. Side stepping is something I definitely I don't do enough of since it didn't come to mind as an answer against Miguel's forward charge attack.

I tried extra hard when my opponent is about to be demoted. And if they are going to be promoted if they win, I don't give them a rematch after beating them.
Also I have not seen any other Ling Xiaoyu players.

Just picked up the PS4 version, and I can't get into any matches! The only games that seem to work are tournaments, but since I'm a beginner, I don't even get to play much because I lose in the first round, so I haven't gotten used to playing with other players. I played Tekken 6 all last week in preparation, but I'm very tired of playing against CPU.
I don't have a gaming PC so I guess I'm fucked.

Are you using Wifi? I was only able to connect to 1 out of 5 matches the other day then realized I was on wifi even though my ethernet cable was hooked up. Immediately switched and had no problems whatsoever afterwards.

I need to know the best way to consistently land Katarina's f f 4. Typically when I do her uf 4 4, then need to do a f f 4, I get a piece of shit Harrier which is f 4.
I'm unsure what is wrong input wise either, because I have tried delaying, or speeding up, etc to get the FF4, and I still get harrier. I really wish Harrier was a forward 3 so this was a non issue. *sigh*

That holding back stand is the safest stand in the game though. They made the game easier for us beginners.
Yeah PS4 and PC, but I doubt my connection is good enough to play. Down for weekend casuals in Melbourne?

This is the only game that actually gets me cursing aloud, but despite that, I'm having a ton of fun despite losing most of my matches. I've long stopped caring about ranks or win ratio. I just want to be a passable Tekken player one day

It's worse for sure. I'm not getting 10 minute searches like some other people, but I've had 5 minute long searches for 4 bar matches. Pre-patch, matches usually took around 30-60 seconds. Fortunately, it's not too bad right now but they definitely need to fix it and roll it back in the mean time.

Sure does seem like matches are farther and few between. Also, whenever I do find a match prompt, I only get the player's bars & name coming up. No character pic, win rate, rank, etc. Something seems to be up.

The rank system is weird. From what I understand, you gain less progress towards your promotion by beating someone a few ranks ahead of you than the same rank.
See really weird swings where someone has 50w more than me with a character but the same rank.
Anyway, felt like I had to win a tonnnnnne of matches to get my blue rank over the last few nights. Would win 3, lose 1, win 2, lose 1, win 3, lose 1 etc. Finally got it though.
Sorry to the Steve fox who got demoted by my promotion. There was no way I was losing that bruv.
