yea

gaf is having a big shit about nothing. MS announced like 15 exclusive titles in year 1 with half of those being new IP. They just didn't focus on gameplay footage like Sony did.

If you actually cut through all the BS, the narrative of both conferences was

Internet TV/Xbox 2.0 vs Sonys new streaming services (more gaikai focused)

MS showing hardware + controller vs Sony showing gameplay and controller (no hardware)

Forza 5 vs Driveclub

EA games titles (multiplatform) vs Multiplatform games for PS4 (wtf, they are both on the same consoles?) for sonys conference

Call of Duty Ghosts (Multiplatform) vs Killzone Shadowfall

Knack and Infamous Second Son.

You know MS will come with an exclusive shooter to rival Shadowfall, and there are rumors about Crackdown 3 (symbol was shown in todays conference).

Sonys conference was more entertaining, but in terms of who's going to have a better product GAF is massively overreacting in Sonys favor.

There's a really good chance Ps4 is going to have used gaming fees also, Yoshida was super noncommital about how Ps4 plays used games, only confirming that you can play them.

It's good. Depends on what you're paying for it.

It's closest comparative card on the competition's side is the GTX 660. You can google some more info, but here's what a quick search brings up. Can't vouch for the source however.

I will say that I run a GTX 470 which is 2 generations older, though a higher end card, and it runs every thing that's out there. So you should be able to stick with this card for a few years at least.

How are online passes handled in Japan? With the fact that they buy multiple consoled based on various designs, I dont think Sony could afford to piss off Japan.

you're telling me you don't want to invest in a state of the art Entertainment Console? They've been selling games like they were bullshit for so long, they don't recognize when it's actual bullshit.

Honestly guys

I want the media that my consoles provide me to be a choice not a selling point. TV service/streaming? My phone/pc/laptop has it. Most people have this

Sharing media with friends & seeing what their up to *see above*

Tactile electronics, motion controls, & etc *see above*

Going forward with the future the above just gets easily intergrated in what it's meant for while more & more people have it.

I figure most tech savvy homes are like this.

Home setup

Phone, pc/laptop - for work/school, TV- flat screen or set - cable/no cable/netflix only

Then gaming consoles for games

No this is the assumption of 1 company within the business. Thank god for competition all around where the others have their own ideals. As consumers our $$$ talks at the end of the day.

I'm still waiting on E3 to see what hype they will bring in earnest.

I'm building a pc this summer. Also fucking lol @ paying full price for a game all over again so you can play it at a friend's house. Seriously Phil? God I hope Sony doesn't pull some stupid shit like this but I'm preparing for the worst.

this is where i'm at. in that COD shit they were gassing up the trees, the details on the face, the intricate gear customization and shit and i'm like...who gives a fuck about any of this shit. just make the damn game play better.

My 5770 still works wonders for me, so I can only assume the 7870 is good.

Really though. If they don't though this will be my first Sony hardware since the PS1. The craziest thing about this situation is the whole we don't want people borrowing games bullshit. If I bought the game I should be able to do what I want with it. If I have a good enough friend he'll let me borrow his games then I should be able to do that.

thats pretty much what im thinking. microsoft has no real presence in the east, so they can do this. but sony cant risk that.

They're basically doing the PC thing of "you have to be online to activate the game and then you have to pay for it again elsewhere," except without all of the other advantages of PC, and they're doing it to fight legal used games instead of illegal piracy.

I guess its because I'm 29 now, and my glory days are behind me, but that smells like hot ass. Gaming doesn't have a soul anymore. It's just a cash grab.
