I created a ton of feather potions and now carry over 600 pounds. Ha, I dig it when the women folk say stuff like "look at the muscles on you" but I'm not too happy when the men say it. I mean seriously, I know what you did Bethesda.
My sneak is so high partially because of the item you recieve once you complete the Thieves Guild quests. I believe it gives you 20+ to your Sneak skill. My Chameleon is so high because I have an enchanted armor, and two rings that all add up to either 95 or 100% spell effectiveness. One of the rings is from a Daedric shrine quest, the other and the armor were random loot I found. The armor isn't very good, but since I hardly ever have to fight face to face, I've kept it in lieu of using better armor with a weaker enchantment. I like the way it looks besides.
DAAAMMMMMMNNNNN those guys in Skingrad know how to live! Fine wine, cheese, elegent buildings, clean streets, snobby town's folk. Almost like walking into Harrods!
So, how do i kill spirits? Everytime i fight them i get owned. I dare not venture into a cave full of those lost souls, however I can only complete my current quest if i explore a ghost filled cave.
Im a warrior and my magic is really poor. Any other way?
The Horse Armor Pack has been very popular, and exceeded what we thought it would sell. Despite that, were still trying to find the right spot, so were putting a much larger plugin out for less than the last one and we'll see what happens.
Hey, thanks man. I finally got around to watching the documentary, which was awesome. Your wife seems like a really cool person! Do you like working at the same studio as she does? I've heard this career can be tough on relationships and stuff, so that must be working out well for you, amirite.?
The Orrery will be mine... and the Wizards tower as well when it is released. I passed on the horse armor, but the new items deliver much more bang for the buck.
It's ridiculous that we have to pay for downloadable content. We already bought the system, Xbox Live subscription, the game, and we STILL have to pay for shit? Bullshit.
I'll be buying the downloadable content when I buy another 1600 point card.
And Revenant, perhaps you need an RPG that holds your hand every step of the way. Oblivion is more about choosing what you want to do, when you want to do it, and how you want to do it. It's about exploration, and having a huge, free playing, living world to wander around in. When given so much freedom, you don't seem to know what to do.
More precise, I don't care. I mean there's just no motivation in the game to actually do any of the hundreds of things that's available. I will admit that the end of that quest I did
where the crazy dude grabbed an axe and went to the one chicks house to kill her and I followed him and then killed his ass before he got her
was fucking awesome. But the fact that they intended you to spend 3 in game days following NPCs around is straight up dumb. And as beautiful as the game may be graphically, it's just really dull and generic so far. Also it doesn't help that the game is full of boring moments. I'm following two sons to their farm to help them slay monsters. This quest sounds great but I'm preempted by 3 minutes of following their slow walking asses to the farm. This is not fun. Realism in games just sucks nine times out of then. That's all there really is to it.

I can understand your point of view, but don't really agree with it. Unlike many other traditional RPGs out there (even those that claim otherwise), this game is about the journey, not the conclusion. The means, not the end. It's a very refreshing (to me) change from the norm.

My journey thus far has left a lot of dead deer in its path, let me tell ya!
But from futzing around with the Condemned demo, if they were to make an RPG using the Oblivion engine with a world with that kind of setting, that would be something I'd like to see.
OH MY GOD SELL YOUR COPY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE AND LEAVE THIS THREAD
Seriously, not everyone likes every game. There are Dragon Quest 8 detractors, RE4 detractors, OoT detractors. Just let it go and find something that's more entertaining for your own personal tastes.

Haha, can't stand a bit of opposed mindset? I'm not saying it's a bad game, and there are quite a few segments of it I'm finding extremely enjoyable. But the ones that aren't are frustratingly so.
Ah well, sorry you aren't enjoying yourself. I forgive you!
Now, MODS. For those that have a problem with red/green colorblindness, some kind modder has tweaked the "criminal" icons from red to blue for your benefit!
Then allow me to tell you that there are no forced escort missions. Your allies teleport with you. Go there first, which marks your location, come back.

This reminds me:
A European Patch/Update will be available after the English versions.
Is the horse armor available in any of the nordic countries? Last time I checked it was only available in the US and UK. I can't check because I don't have my X360 around. I'm asking because the game isn't localised here, so is there any real reason why we can't/couldn't download these from the start..?
Thanks for the news, Steve. Even though I personally didn't buy the horse armor ( I always walk everywhere, anyway ), these two upcoming mods sound like a great value and I'll definitely be getting them.
Pete said that you guys are open for suggestions. How about some higher level creatures in a future patch? Quite a few of us here are already breaking the level 30 barrier, and would love some additional content to challenge us, instead of the same old three or four "leveled" creatures that spawn everywhere. You wouldn't even have to tamper with the existing models ( except maybe a change in color scheme ). Maybe a high level Grizzly Bear, a Dire Wolf, a Spriggan Matriarch, or a Grim Reaper... something along those lines.
I can guarantee you that Xbox users will snatch it up like hotcakes. It would be a great option to have, since we don't have access to the thousands of PC mods.
RevenantKioku - you're starting to sound like a troll. o_0 Like you just happen to stumble on quests which are easy to find negatives.
Oblivion is a lot like life, there is a lot of great stuff, and some mundane pointless stuff. You can stay in a room and level up this or that all day, you can go outside and level up fighting deer. Its called free will.
Your paranoia quest - you chose to do those things. Others would have found other ways, for example, speaking with the people you would have realised something isn't right with him. Speaking to the people you were meant to tail would have shed some light. I even had the guard track me down and warn me that if the guy tried anything with me I should tell a guard right away. You play the game YOUR way and you almost make your own conclusion sometimes. That mission in particular was SO open-ended, we've heard about 5 different stories for that quest already in this thread.
This is role-playing, you play the game how you want to and things unfold depending on how you play and what you do. If you dont see the point, why are you playing a role-playing game? If you want linear story, do the main quest. Join the dark brotherhood and come back and tell us this game doesn't kick ass.
You guys are just upset that I'm finding flaws in your beloved Oblivion.
But in all seriousness, it's just becoming more and more apparent that this just isn't a game for me. It has nothing to do with mechanics and everything to do with execution. It feels like a single player D&D campaign. And I think that's why I dislike it. I'm not looking at it through the eyes of a more open video game, but as a more constricted pen and paper campaign. And that's why I feel suffocated and restricted instead of the openness that's been described.
I think you guys are right, and I've been playing this game wrong. I think I'll go give it another shot.
With Master Mercantile you can raise the amount of money that shops have... as well as what percentages you can sell/buy for.
However, you shouldn't worry about it. It is pointless. Towards the end of the game just about every single piece of equipment dropped will be worth several thousand and you'll be maxing out on all your items...
Yeah, much more reasonable then horse armor, that is for sure.
Fantastic that even this crappy horse armor sold better then they thought, i'd love to see more content for this already huge game.

I asked the same thing a few pages back but got no answer. Being in Sweden, which sells the exact same edition as the one in the UK but we get no DLC, yet.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to change passport to a UK one if this delay trend continues elsewhere.

So it's still not available? Damn. Then it won't be there for Finland either. I wouldn't want to change profiles because of something like this. If there was a good reason behind this, I'd understand, but I have the nagging feeling that the market just isn't big enough so they have forgotten us for the time being.

That's weird. I HATE D&D anything. THe mechanics and the derivitive fantasy setting just turn me off. I guess it sounds like a contradiction but once you get passed the surface, The Elder Scrolls has a fleshed out world quite different from the traditional fantasy settings. And I don't see how it can be restrictive. You can basically do whatever you want to do.
Have two different sets of arrows, one of which corresponds in quantity to the number of additional copies of non-longsword items you want to duplicate. Draw back an arrow from the other set and hold. Open the item management screen. Double click on the set I referred to before. Then drop an item you wish to duplicate. You're still in the item screen, keep in mind. Finally, drop the set of arrows which isn't currently highlighted. Exit from the item screen.

on the contrary, I am a total believer in criticism when necessary and thus have been accused of trolling on here in the past (so not true).
You've been on a campaign drawing out as many "humorous" negatives as you can and sensationalising them on here. I don't really mind like but just as you say what you think, I say what I think and you're coming across like a troll/joke account who's on a mission to poke fun at the Oblivion fans of course entitled to do so, your points are valid if a little over the top!
There are certainly flaws to the game, but "omg I keep seeing deer and nothing else" isn't really one of them. I never played a paper-based RPG, and never want to touch one. I never play western RPGs either. Totally JRPG nut all the way, but this game is amazing. I think of it more like a sandbox type game like GTA. Do what I want, when I want, where I want. Become what I want to become. Kill creatures, get stronger, richer, gain ranks, gain cool new items, and so on. Its the epitome of a game and imo combines many elements from many games into one. Anyway if you just dont get it, wel......too bad.
Is there anyone else who feels that the level up system actually ends up undermining the whole do anything concept? I don't know, I just feel the game is really starting to kick my arse. I can't even walk down the road without getting into a fight with a boar and then spending 5 minutes afterwards healing and waiting for my magic to recharge.
I started off really liking the game but it's really starting to become more of a chore than fun. I can understanding a softly, slowly approach in a dungeon but on the world map? Guess I want to know if it gets any easier, if my armour will stop dying after 3 hits?
