Seriously, Lord and Miller are becoming Midas like in my eyes. I've loved everything they've done.

Yep, same here. I'd even go as far to call them the new Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker in terms of consistency of style.

Seriously, what a great movie. Might be a secret contender for the greatest Batman movie ever too.

Saw it this morning. Very good stuff. Distinctly recall tearing up during the real-life scenes, as well.

I think Uni-Kitty was my favorite character. Didn't even know she was a character, going into the thing, so she was a big surprise for me. (Really, only plot-relevant characters I knew about were Emmet, WyldStyle, Vetruvius and Batman, so there was a lot to be surprised by.)

"Business, business, business. Numbers. (Is this working?)"
"Yes."
"Yaaay!~♥"

This movie is secretly a "10 years later" sequel to Stranger Than Fiction.

I noticed earlier the game didn't get all the licenses the movie has, there's a character blurred out:

Did anybody catch who it is? I'm surprised at the amount of footage there is, when all is said and done it could easily amount to 15-20 minutes. Maybe even some of the twist, lol.

That looks like the place where Shaq was standing?

This was such an awesome movie. LMAO'd so many times. I took my two boys to see it (6 and almost 4) who just got into legos recently and they both loved it. It was a little reality check for me because I've been pretty hard on them to try and keep their new lego sets together.

Also, this was my almost-4 year old's first movie in the theater. The first thing he asks me when we get home is to turn on netflix so we can watch it again. I wish. When this comes out on DVD/blu-ray, we're going to be watching it quite a few more times.

This movie was one of the greatest commercials I've ever seen.

Lol, it sure did make me want to go out and buy some LEGOs. So I agree!

It's pretty much like if the Toy Story toys had existed before the movies, then those toys would have been even more popular - now LEGO has that opportunity with this new movie series since the first one is incredibly successful.

Saw it this afternoon, guessed the twist early on. There was some obvious hints that a kid was actually controlling everything.

Also, I'm guessing the kid is also telekinetic? Because the entire worl is basically a story in his head while playing with his dad's Lego toys (Sorry, "Brick-based model system"), yet Emmet as a Lego mini-fig toy, actually starts to move on his dad's desk. That part I was like "What? Are they doing semi Toy Story now?"

He wasn't literally controlling it. The worlds are just parallel.

lol.

this movie was a huge treat and surprise. saw it my younger siblings, and the twist at the end gave me some feels. but wow, what a ride.

soooo many great references, and the 80's space guy was hilarious- you knew shit was going down when he finally got to build his spaceship. i can name many other highlights, but that shit had me laughing my ass off. well done charlie day.

after walking out of the theater i looked up the cast, and was surprised at how all around great it was.

I like how that scene was cut off mid-Yay.

In all seriousness the message I got from the film (because it was definitely a film with a message) wasn't against manchildren per se. One review put it like "the film very much has the appropriation of childhood by adults on its mind" and I think that's a perfect way to put it. Not that you can't enjoy childish things as an adult (I just went with three adult friends to see the damn LEGO movie) but that we should stop trying to drag our childhoods into adulthood with us, in the process damaging the very things that made those parts of our childhood so special. A lot of adult fans seem to insist or at least request that their childhood loves grow up with them. Case in point, Batman, anothr reason why he's such a pitch perfect part of this movie

I loved Benny. The 1980s Space LEGO sets were my favorites. I built plenty of SOACESHIPS! as a kid myself.

Uni-kitty was great also. I loved her facial animation.

I saw the real world twist coming and I think they dwelled a smidge too long with the live action (it kinda spoiled the magic) but I loved the concept behind how their world works.

Can someone explain to me the Mississippi countdown before Emmett throws himself out of the window? Why was it called that?

Because children often count "1 mississippi" when playing (most likely because the amount of time it takes to say that is roughly equal to an actual second). Remember, it's a little kid that's constructing this world.

Did anyone catch what the enemies (robots?) yelled as they dove off a cliff? I seem to recall there being a chase, possibly in the wild west, and right as a bunch of enemies fell off the cliff towards a river, they said something that made people laugh.

SPACESHIP!

I loved this, poor Benny so enthusiastic and when he gets his time to shine he does.

I firmly believe now that in every Will Arnett movie Charlie Day should get Jason Bateman's role and Jason should have to do Charlie work.

It would be awesome. The cast was top notch and probably why I liked it so much.

It was a fun film; silly, lighthearted and genuinely sweet.

That said, God damn is this movie going to move merchandise for Lego. Why didn't we all invest heavily in Lego stock before this movie came out.

Just saw a new TV Spot which emphasized "Don't give away the ending."

That's pretty neat. I can't remember the last time I've seen something like that in advertising.

Just saw it tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved bits and pieces that touched on my childhood. Absolutely loved that the blue space mans helmet was cracked, so accurate!

I want to watch it again and again because I found myself only looking at the building techniques and not paying attention to much else.

Took my son and nephew to this on Friday. And today, my son who is 5,begs me to take him again. I almost never watch a movie a second time but man I enjoyed it even more this second time around which, if you know me is nuts!

Seriously what a great film. Already booked 3 days at the San Diego legoland hotel lol. We staying in the pirate room!

It was a good time - at the beginning of the film I remember seeing real quick flash-forwards of blurry scenes where you could see the "Believe" cat head and Will walking down the steps to the basement. I made a mental note and when the live action scenes came up I thought "there they are." It gave just enough of a clue to show something was going to be coming later.

The kids in the theater were bored and a little confused when the live action stuff started. One kid got really scared and was crying.

Just got back from seeing it.

I honestly think that it was one of the best movies I've ever seen (granted, I haven't seen many movies). It was perfection all the way through. A friend spoiled the ending for me, cause he said "Will Ferrell is literally in it!" enough times for me to figure it out before I saw the movie, but I completely forgot about it until the part actually happened. What an incredibly immersive movie, they NAILED the look and feel to everything. The ending and it's message was really touching and it perfectly captured the magic of LEGOs and toys and bonding time and everything! And the very last scene with the sisters LEGOs (were they Duplos?) was such a great way to top it off. The movie was just... AWESOME! :D

I want to see it again in 3D (is it in 3D?). The movie must be stunning in the format.
