You know what I was thinking about. Retro is apparently making a game "that appeals to the ps360 crowd". As someone who is in that crowd, wtf does that mean exactly? Games like Assassins Creed series sold a lot, GTA sold a lot, COD sells a lot, Skyrim sold a lot, uncharted sold a lot, etc... Those are all very different kinds of games.

Or is it just saying it won't be some weird cartoony/art styled game and be more realistic in look, and action oriented in some way.

And what about all those great XBLA/PSN games that people love? Geometry Wars? Pac-Man Championship Edition? Minecraft Console Edition was the fastest-selling XBLA game, and Journey was the fastest-selling PSN one, and that isn't shit like any of those series you mentioned.

Well that settles it then: Retro's new game will be simply be titled "Video Games", and will be made of all the popular genres on the HD twins. Coming in 2020.

lol forralz. I will smack retro upside the head if they come out with some generic shooter of some sort, and that's how they've categorized the ps360 crowd. It really isn't the case when you look at all the games that sell a lot.

If Retro does another Metroid game, I hope it doesn't continue right after MP3. Only because we've crammed a lot of story/games into the time frame between Metroid and Metroid II.

I wouldn't mind some thing that takes place between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, or hell even after Fusion. Which NO, SHE IS NOT BEING CHASED BY THE FEDERATION THEN. Maybe something with finding a way to replace the fusion suit, or a new chozo power suit. I don't know, the point is there's a lot of options. Let's do something that takes place during a different time frame than the Prime games have.

I mean don't get me wrong if it was Prime 4 and a direct sequel I'd be there day one, just saying.

I wouldn't have a problem with Retro making Metroid Prime 4, but the stories are pretty forgettable. especially when their not character-driven. It's why I was so excited about Other M but Sakamoto and D Rockets utterly failed to deliver on its storytelling.

They keep putting stuff between Metroid 1 and Metroid 2 because before Metroid 1, there weren't any metroids, and after Metroid 2, they're all gone, except for the one. They had to throw in the "GF breeding metroids" storyline twice because of this in Other m and Fusion. Gotta find a way to fit in the series' main enemy somehow.

Nobody had the chance, because they split the game up over too many platforms. A person could only really get into the series to the point where they understand the storyline if they had a PS2, PSP, GBA, DS, and now 3DS.

I really do not see the point of another Metroid Prime. Just use the engine and ideology to make a new FPA. Prime 1 was the pinnacle of that series. By part 3 we were playing the same game, hunting shadow samus over and over.

I just want a 2D/2.5D Metroid from the real Metroid team. As long as Sakamoto stays away from the vodka, and D-Rockets and the NOA Localization team that translated the nonsensical Japanese. We should be good. No team ninja either please.

I suppose you are right. Prime 4 would likely just feel like a retreading of the series for the most part. A proper 2D Metroid would clearly be what we all ideally want and hopefully Sakamoto is working on that now.

Damn I could have sweared I put a point at the end of VS, nice you caught that one.
It was the first thing I tried to fit, and to my surprise it fit perfectly with one of the teases.
Can't wait to see what they mean!

I think most of us want a 2D Metroid from the Metroid team. I hope Nintendo thinks it's time for one...

I think I got them to stop. They're discussing Batman now.

5 and a half more days... I can't tell if I'm more looking forward to the conference or the day off I booked to watch it.
