This rain tho.
It was probably about the support from the province. There was no mention of housing and public transit.
Possible closing of the DVP this afternoon. D:
LET'S MAKE MY DRIVE HOME A BILLION TIMES WORSE.
yeah yeah flooding, safety etc. still gonna suck
I left early yesterday at 3:30. It took me 90 minutes to get home and that's with the dvp open.Try and leave early!
Praise Jesus. My drive will only be a million times worse due to the rain.News is saying the DVP isn't closing, will remain open.
At any rate, drive carefully!
The Star published a pretty damning article against Bombardier about why we don't have enough new streetcars yet:

While it makes a good point that the Mexican plant allowed Bombardier to come in with a cheaper bid, it's ludicrous that people in charge didn't see the problems. Executives making that much money and getting bonuses makes me want to puke. "But we can't attract and maintain talent if we don't pay for it". Funny how that works at the top but not at the bottom. Fuck Bombardier! I hope they go out of business.

On the plus side though, no more Casey!...Probably?....Hopefully? =(
Who else is ready for that Cavs sweep?

And although the Raps are done, the Leafs are golfing, and the Jays are already planning for next year, there's good news to be had for Toronto sports fans.
Our beloved TFC Reds are first in the Eastern Conference after beating the Sounders and are looking as good as ever. The Marlies are in the 2nd round of the AHL playoffs facing off against Syracuse. They're down 1-0 so far, but they can still definitely bounce back. The Toronto Rock are also in the playoffs. And they'll be hosting Georgia in the Eastern finals next Saturday at the ACC. And finally, our Toronto Wolfpack (the first North American Trans-Atlantic sports franchise) are off to a great start with a 6-0 record playing in the third tier of the English Rugby League. They just had their home debut yesterday winning 62-12. At this rate they'll be playing in the English Super League in no-time and that's when things get really fun.
That being said, I'll be glad when the Raps get dunked on and eliminated later today. It'll be good to have a nice break from sports, at least for the summer. Sure, I'll probably pay attention to free agency/the draft, but that's about it. No caring till October. And at the very least, Jays tickets will be muuuuuuuuuuch cheaper! And on occasion, when I'll want to hit up a game or two, I'll have plenty of room to spread out without those pesky bandwagonners crowding up the place
Just at my last job, it generally wasn't the day to day workers - it's the absolutely inept leadership up top.I've applied for a job at Bombardier too. Reading this article in a way makes me glad they haven't contacted me yet.
We're supposed to have a clause to order more if a certain amount is delivered by November. I hope Bombardier misses the deadline and we go with another company. This was the biggest order they had in NA for these vehicles and massively dropped the ball on it.Let them deliver the rest of the ttc cars then go out of business. we need to get rid of the shitty old ones asap

I'll vote NDP.Trudeau will bail them out again before they go bankrupt
What happened to that kid they drafted from Brazil? The one who was 2 years away from being 2 years away?
From being 1 year away...? 🤔He's 1 year away.
Yeah! I can buy and load a Presto card at specific Shoppers...
Too bad they still dont have a TTC Metropass system implemented on the card. Priorities ttc....
Won't matter. So long as super teams exist, we might as well field the D League team anyways.I don't understand people wanting Stackhouse as the coach.
Y'all know his playbook is the same shit as Casey's right?
As of right now all you'll be getting is Casey with more passion and ability to fight people. It'll be the same offense and defense being rolled out.
Check the OP. There's loads of info there.I am going to be in Toronto for 5 days next week with my husband. We rented a condo near the CN tower...anyone have any suggestions on things to do or places to eat? One night we are going to a concert but have all other days/nights open to explore.
We might check out the zoo, aquarium, China Town and go to Canada's Wonderland..anything else a must see/do/eat?
I haven't been to Canada since like 2000.
Thanks!

Otherwise,
St Lawrence Market
Distillery District
Kensington Market
Aquarium
High Park
Zoo
Avoid Chinatown and CN Tower. Well, I mean, go through Chinatown to get to Kensington but don't bother getting anything there. It's a shadow of its former glory.
As for food, it really depends on what you like and price range.
lol, even KING STATION (the entrance connected to the PATH) doesn't have Presto support. I see the collector there turn people away every day because it doesn't support Presto. TTC should be ashamed of itself.
How dare you call me a scrub, you skrub...!Any of you scrubs going to TCAF this weekend?
I'm just hoping I'll pass by Roto again.

Be sure to let us know how it goes.I'm going on the Sunday which I hope is a bit lighter due to Mothers Day. I'm meeting a friend and we're attending some panels. There's one at the Pilot focused on Food/Comics I'm very interested in.

I'll definitely be hitting up TCAF, not sure my girlfriend will be as down, she's not big on crowds and the comic nerd hordes are real.
May try to hit up a panel or two if I can.
Yup. I'll be looking at tons of stuff I have no money to buy.
With the cosplay ban and focus on indies, the more insufferable comic nerds tend to avoid TCAF. The organizers want to avoid it becoming one of those conventions.
Ive only gone once before, but to me, the Reference Library was packed and really hard to get around. I don't usually do Cons or Festivals, so I could be very, very wrong in this conclusion
The "you really, really shouldn't cosplay" statement doesn't hurt, either.Oh, it's packed for sure, but it's a totally different crowd than you'd find at FanExpo. Indie comics are like kryptonite for them.
Cops running around in my neighbourhood looking for gunmen after two cars raced down Warden shooting at each other and one flipped over.
Fun times.
