Might be an odd request, but anyone know a good cellphone repair place? Preferably one near leslieville?

Phone is stuck in a boot loop and factory reset ain't working.

Anyone still playing Pokemon Go? I went out and just completed my first raid.

It was nice meeting locals who played legitimately even if they weren't on my team.

Fought and caught yet another Lapras! It's my 22nd one :( It seems I'm lucky/ cursed to get so many. What I really wanted are Snorlax but I've only hatched 1 and caught 3 in the wild.

oh, i already know that already

the shop owner were all promised that it would be connected to the path and that didn't happen (so much wasted potential)
i feel really bad for the shop owners there

it's still a nice little corner, i've ate there a few times

Ho-ly shit.

I kind of want to go there now just to see.

It's not worth it. It's not truly creepy in its emptiness, it's just blandly empty. Though I do often feel like meth labs would feel perfectly at home there, and if I walked across junkies it wouldnt be out of place

I remember feeling sorry for the shops that got scammed by that promise when this story aired on the news last year.

I doubt being connected would help.
It's pretty terrible. As soon as you step into the lobby of the building, you can already feel that it's probably not going to be good.
It's pretty eerie and just made my wife uncomfortable walking around there.

Might be a better use of that space than what's there now.

My girlfriend bought me a Switch along with BOTW, MK8D and 1-2 Switch (which was fun).

Fuck I didn't want to spend so much money this month already with her birthday, our anniversary, and the goddamn Steam Sale. Just bought a Switch case, screen protector, and some USB-C cables for the damn thing.

This is some real first world problems shit.

You should totally break up with her for forcing you to be generous instead of a cheap prick.

No LCBO strike

There wasn't going to be one. Theyve threatened to strike every four years since 09. I look forward to the next scare to get the sheep in the door in 2021. I'm sure they did amazing business this weekend.

Don't forget that 76 new grocery stores will be selling beer and wine on June 30th.

So I finally had to get around to looking at Presto to help my mother understand how this shit work. Holy fuck why are there so many rules for when to tap and not tap shit (like a short turn bus, like is the second bus driver going to know when the guy ahead of him was a short turn and how many people won't tap on the thing). Like I already hate this shitty system and I haven't even used it.

And apparently they only got a few thousand presto metropass per month?!?! This whole conversion to Presto is a fucking amateurish joke. Who the fuck thought this was a smart idea?

Not bitter, just unsweetened

A lot of it has to do with modernization initiatives and expansion of service through their megaprojects.

TTC is likely going to be growing massively after the infrastructure bank comes into play, as well.

TTC knows they aren't perfect but they have been making strides in the right direction.

"TTC named best public transit agency in North America"

this has to be an elaborate troll

While we're on the subject of the TTC:

On the one hand I like that the TTC buses/streetcars have the GPS attached and it's an open data system so third party developers can offer real time apps showing when the next vehicle should be arriving.

On the other hand, I hate that TTC removed all schedule signs and replaced them with ads for these smartphone apps (some of which cost money and kill my battery). Some stop shelters have the integrated TTC display showing when the next route data but not all do.

Moreover I feel there's a loss of scheduled arrival times; you can no longer expect that there's a schedule that says the vehicle will be here at a specific time, say 8:25 on a Sunday, and call/complain if the vehicle is often/always late. Instead it's just a schedule which says vehicles every 4/10/20/30 etc minutes. There's another knock-on effect I think; I overhead a TTC driver saying that their management is changing their evaluation metrics and encouraging them to speed through their routes. Since there's no schedule time at any stop, the TTC driver is less likely to pause a little longer for any passengers but instead just speeds off.

All I wanted was for the trains to run on time but TTC said fuck the concept of time, we'll see ya when we see ya.

Yes! Now we have the "ten minute network" which means we'll be there whenever..hopefully within 10 minutes of the previous bus. Of course on the morning of my exam the bus shows up after waiting 19 minutes at the stop...

I end up doing a lot of convoluted things like get off at Triton (the stop outside scarborough town) so I have a chance of catching an earlier bus coming out and other small hopeful "optimizations".

You should really plan on getting somewhere 30 minutes early if it's important at all. I do that whether driving or taking the TTC. If I get somewhere important "on time" then I'm late.
