I've heard good stuff but was always wary because of the line ups.

We had reservations so the line up wasn't an issue. I think you can only make them for 6pm when they open. We weren't rushed during dinner either. The reason for the lines is because seating. Is extremely limited. Since the weather is a nice a lot of people drop by just for take out and eat at a park nearby. Monday was $2.50 house ale/lagers special so we kinda went HAM on those.

What are your guys' thoughts on this thread about changing the Ontario flag?

He even goes so far as to suggest making it an election issue.

Some people agree with the OP and I'm surprised. There are lots of arguments for changing is that keeping British symbolism in the flags is upholding colonialism/racism. I, for one, thought it was cool that we recognized our British roots somewhere. But maybe because I've never been oppressed, it's not my judgment to make. If it really does go somewhere though, I'd personally just vote to ignore it because there are other things that politicians can deal with.

Also, I don't get the hate for the BC flag. I think it's awesome.

I vote we change the flag just so it doesn't look like we ripped off Manitoba.

All those designs suggested in the OP are UGLY.

I don't really hate our flag, though I suppose we could get rid of the union jack.

Toronto ranked 129th best city in Canada. Surprised it got that high lol

http://www.moneysense.ca/canadas-best-places-to-live-create-your-own-ranking/
It's still a good place to live. I lived in Seoul for two years, studied in HK for a bit, and visited Tokyo a few times as well. While I absolutely love those cities, they also come with their own set of problems that made me appreciate this city more. Well, I still don't like the TTC and the bullshit telecoms here...

Ugh, I have a 30 minute phone interview later today. My head is swimming with potential answers to questions that they might ask me, but this will be my first ever phone interview. I said to myself I wasn't going to get nervous....

STOP BEING NERVOUS FOOL

On the bright side, at least I can sit in my underwear and they'll never know.

(I'm probably going to dress up anyways, just to get into "interview mode"

I hate talking on the phone. I would rather go in for the interview.

Yeah, but i didn't have much choice, other than what time I wanted to have it at. Then again, I hate interviews in general. I get super nervous, so this might be a little better for me. They can't see sweating balls during it, just hear my fear.

I wish some super duper amazing company would just cut out the "interview" part and give me that high paying job because i'm an awesome guy. Come on world, give me a freebie just this once!

I hate interviews. I'm terrible at selling myself.

When I did phone interviews the amount of notes I had was ridiculous, lol.

Good luck.

well that went terribly LOL

I'm gonna go to Big Moes and eat that giant ass burger with BBQ sauce and cry as I eat it

I'm a bit late, or else I'd wish you good luck.

After a couple of those, I got used to the questions and developed a flow. It also helps when your interviewer is good at keeping the conversation going. I've had a couple of very quiet interviewers and it got awkward.

Good luck on your future ones though.

$15 psn credit just for attending? it's like they pay you to see their marketing presentation.
kind of like the plants in the live audience

If you don't need the mlb the show pack I'll take the code, I dunno if I can redeem more than one
MLB was already taken by friend IRL

This IS pretty underwhelming crap :(
which is why I'm giving them away

To be fair, Microsoft had way more plants judging by the crap they aired

Well, my mind is blown.

I got an email from the company that they'd like me to come in for a second, in-person interview. The first interview was scheduled for 30 minutes and we barely made it passed the 15 minute mark... and to top it off, I even had to tell them that I had no experience with a topic they questioned me about.

Feeling perplexed is an understatement, but I'm sorta excited for the opportunity to go in-person this time.

Congratulations! They probably appreciated your honesty, especially if you give off a vibe that you're open minded.

Congrats!

It was probably good that you were honest, plus if you have the skills they are looking for they will train you.

Good luck. When is the next interview?

Subete no aware
I was searching for Japanese curry out of curiosity and found a place at Yonge and Gerrard called Kaiju. What was weird about it was how the reviews kept mentioning that it's in a dead mall, so I decided to look it up:

http://nationalpost.com/arts/a-worl...764-5510-4be6-8a12-3d37f51baf4e#comments-area

I was out of the city when the tower was finished, but I didn't have any idea that there was retail there. From the pictures, it looks as dead as the Chinese malls on Spadina and up north near Markham, with the same rows of tiny boxes design that is supposed to encourage volume rather than quality of store. I feel bad for the people who invested hundreds of thousands thinking they'd get a retail unit on Yonge Street only for it to turn out to be a complete bust. I guess it's also a sign of the future of Yonge Street, when it'll just be condos and big box retailers from King to Bloor.

(Apparently the elevators don't work either, which must suck if you live on the top floor of the city's largest residential condo).

Thanks! :D

I hope so too.

It's scheduled for Monday. I hope I do well. Either way gaining interview experience is always a good thing.

I went to HERO Burger for lunch because they give you a free burger on your birthday. And just as I walked into the store, it occurred to me that, the last time I went to a HERO Burger, it was exactly one year ago. To get a free burger. :lol

I'm going to be driving for 5 hours today, and of course this is the night my roommate decides to make a ton of noise and wake me up at 4am.

It's like I live with fucking raccoons sometimes.
