Interesting. I wonder what the point of the Hound's infected bite was, then, if that's not going to be what does him in?

Also wonder if there will be a conclusive victor or if this will be a double-KO or something.

Seems like a pro-wrestling type thing, give him an injury to justify him losing.

This happens to me too, which is why I resigned myself to the fact that she won't be there. I'll be able to enjoy the episode, and if she is there, it'll be an awesome surprise.

Seriously though, everyone saying she will be in is just setting themselves up for disappointment. They're basing it off false hope and their idea of what the best ending would be, while having to assume the show went out of its way to scrub out any possible hint or sign (in show and irl) that it's happening. Ridiculous. No Brotherhood in the recap is the most damning thing imo.
yes, even stannis is in it, and thats a much more harmful spoiler than the brotherhood would ever have been. no one would guess the brotherhood would revive cat, but many will now assume that stannis is going to crush the wildlings. poorly done in my opinion.

Listening to "The Children" and I think it definitely must correspond with Arya going over the sea. The mellow Stark theme with the hopeful chorus of the main theme song...

Montage of Stark children

Arya on the ship, Sansa having sex with Littlefinger, Bran is a tree, Rickon is eating people in Skaagos

biggest giveaway to no stoneheart will be the "previously on" montage before the show begins

Maybe they recast The Brotherhood. Thoros of Myr is played by Mountain #2.

we have seen that previously already, they are always available beforehand.
no brotherhood in it.

I think that was his point.

Though I'm not sure how the viewer connects Beric Dondarrion's resurrection scene with Catelyn coming back.

Right. but for the biggest megaton other than Tyrion's escape I don't see why they'd broadcast their intentions.

Let's just fast-forward to some seducing of Margery story lines, need some more tiny smirks and a parade of beefcakes.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
Anyone else thinks that they might compress book 4 and 5 into a single season?

No, why would they do that? If anything they'll be looking to stretch both.

Book 4 in particular does have its lengths which might bore people who are now used to the action and drama that SoS provided. I am wondering if they are going to address that by compacting the story or by adding new story lines.

because the story of both books together scarcely offer an interesting enough plot for one season.
we will see the end of brans AFFC arc this season, brienne's too, possibly.

casting news seem to indicate, that we will see daznaks pit in season 5.

I'm pretty sure at least 80 to 90% of the AFFC/ADWD plot will be done in season 5, and we will see some winds material.

^Yeah, good point. Obviously they'll have parts of both books in both seasons.

Oh man I think there's PLENTY of stuff that would both be interesting on the show and wouldn't bore the readers

-- Oldtown could be BAD ASS.

-- Cersei sucks at running KL, dealing with debt (cutting back to Braavos and showing Arya, naturally), dealing with new religious fervor, etc. Her entire arc will be fucking fascinating.

-- The Temptation of Margery

-- Battle at Dragonstone

-- Jamie in the Riverlands, Lady Stoneheart, Brienne, introducing Sam's dad...

-- No idea what they'll do with Sansa since they compressed her arc at the Eeyrie, but if her sultry i'm-now-a-badass reveal is any indication it will freaking RUUUULE.

-- The big gamechanger is what they'll do with the kingsmoot in the Iron Islands. That could be interesting and could be a nice mid-season megaton if Euron/Daario has any credence. Will also be interesting to see how/if they reflect King's Landing's new religious fervor with some of the Drowned Men (and obv with the Red God or w/e his name is). In fact the one thing I'm wondering how they'll handle is GRRM's clear skepticism/rebuke of religion in general. I think the Iron Islands and the parallels with the born again crowd could be fantastic.

-- The Sand Snakes, Myrcella, Oldtown/Citadel, the entire Quentin arc are all perfect and ripe to be mined for the show

-- Depending on where they end with Jon, we still have to deal with him becoming HC, Stannis losing his mind up there, Melisandre, sending Samwell and Aemon to the Citadel (and that entire arc in Braavos).

-- The ARYA arc is going to be freaking PERFECT. Joining the faceless men, warging back home (and seeing LSH?), her going blind.

I can imagine next season's finale with Sam arriving in Oldtown, Cersei getting scourged, Arya going blind. Could be amazing (and I didn't even mention Dany, Theon/Bolton, Winterfell, Littlefinger, or Varys).

They'll need at least one of the Winds climaxes for S5, almost assuredly.

Their drawings are always beautiful, but I would have done "You can't die yet. You haven't confessed.." for Oberyn.

For this one I would have done a bloody gate that says "Hold the gate."

The moment of truth is tomorrow.

Will the merciless mother appear?

Will Stannis finally become "The Mannis" on this show?

Will Tywin shit not-gold?

Will the Bloodraven scene deliver?

Does the Tysha story not being in the recap mean that she won't be mentioned in the finale?

It might actually very well mean both of those things.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if the Tysha material is cut.

"Wherever whores go," followed by a season of "Where do whores go?" is almost certainly cut, so it's lead-up is likely gone as well.

It's funny that we have so little regard for D&D's trust of the audience that anything not explicitly stated in a recap is not happening in the finale.

We wouldn't do this for any other show.

God I hope so. It was cool the first two times he said and then it just got annoying and then it got REALLY annoying.

[long list]
.

Your post made me realize that I don't remember half of what happened in Books 4 & 5. I guess that means I'm going into the next few seasons semi-spoiler free!

I'm the same way honestly, and I've read the series twice. (Read the first three books three and a half times while waiting, technically). Go back and read them again -- now that you've seen the show you'll get a lot more out of it.

I just really hope they shy away from future book spoilers in the finale. Outside of that one scene with the baby and the white walkers, there hasn't really been anything major spoiled this season, and I would hate to have to skip the finale after having seen every other episode this season.

Now's the time to get over it. It's gonna happen and your choices are:

1. Watch and get spoiled
2. Don't watch and get spoiled anyway
3. Watch and pray D&D go completely off the rails and then GRRM changes some stuff up and then plants a lot of Easter eggs
4. Get over it.

(I'm in the 3-4 range)

Edit -- I mean it's going to happen. The show will pass the books and we can't do anything to stop it.

I hope they do. The more they take from the published books, the more time GRRM has to finally finish at least WoW before the show catches up.

Why did you assume its cut? It'll give the showrunners another excuse for a needless rape scene.

Soundtrack spoilers:
One of the songs on the s4 ost is called "You are no son of mine" or something, and I'd be willing to bet that's the last thing Tywin will say to Tyrion in place of his original last words.

I'm in #2 but I'm hoping to avoid spoilers. It helps to never read comments and not be on Facebook. I think I can manage it.

Followed by tyrion saying "I say I am you writ small" or something of the sort.

If they really cut that part out then holy shit did they fuck up the tywin tyrion scene.

No, I know. I'm fully prepared to stop watching after this season and it should be relatively easy (for me) to avoid spoilers until the next book comes out (#PRAYING TWOW comes out next year and that D&D aren't hacks enough to include ADOS material in the next few seasons).

I would just be annoyed if I had to miss the final episode of this season, since I've seen all the others.
