I tried to get into Eternal a bunch of times and I just can't, it's like they messed with the formula just a little bit too much. The tone is a bit cringe too, like what would happen if the Doom reddit wrote a game.

Doom Eternal just felt like it’s evolving into something else.

I preferred 2016.

Eternal was terrible. I want to shoot things, not follow a strict sequential procedure on how to use all 20 of my weapons and abilities on infinite loop.

Constantly chainsaw, fire, grenade. Constant swap weapons. It’s so weird and tiresome.

I didn't even enjoy the 2016 one that much. Something about the shooting\melee combo they went for that just didn't interest me.
