Time for some transfer updates since this thread has been dead.

Herculez Gomez joins Santos Laguna. Not sure how much playing time he'll get with Santos having two excellent forwards already. Hopefully he can continue to be a supersub.

Landon Donovan will joining Everton on a two month loan. I'm hoping for the best in that he impresses and he also doesn't hurt himself.

Greg Garza signs with Tijuana joining USMNT hopeful Joe Corona and the "Mexican Johnny Bornstein" Edgar Castillo.

Robbie Rogers might be joining Leeds United in the Championship if he can somehow gain a work permit.

Brian Span, a sophomore from UVA signed with Djurgårdens in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Hopefully he has the success that Davies and Bedoya had in the league.

Apparently George John and Omar Gonzalez have both withdrawn from camp due to possible transfer moves. This is infuriating. I was so happy to finally have both of them called in.

How is it infuriating? It is more helpful for them to further their careers by transferring to better clubs.

Omar has been capped before anyways. He was loaned to 1. FC Nuremberg with the club looking to buy him in the summer.

Yeah, and John might finally get that Blackburn transfer through.

Omar was hurt when he was tackled in training today... by Timmy Chandler. Splendid.

Clint Dempsey scored a hat trick against Newcastle. Maybe we'll see him and Landon in Italy together? Maurice Edu also scored today in the draw against Aberdeen.

1 - Clint Dempsey has become the first USA player to score a hat-trick in the English Premier League. History.

BTW there is a game against Venezuela tonight. I think it is only on ESPN3 and Galavision.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm not too familiar with South American squads aside from Brazil and Argentina but we should handle Venezuela right?

Hopefully. Both countries are playing weaker squads. The US squad is mainly MLS players and the Venezuela squad is made up of players in there local league. The game is at 9 PM EST.

We'll see, Venezuela are currently 35th (US 37) according to ELO ratings, and 41 (US 33) according to FIFA.
In any case the US will be fielding a team of MLSers (minus Donovan plus Jones) so who knows...

I wish I had Galavision in HD. Oh well.

Excited for the game. I'm going with a 2-1 US win with goals from Bunbury and Shea.

I almost threw up when I saw Venezuelan lineup... I know this isn't a good date for a friendly but goddamn. Pure shit in there, except for the 2 centrebacks who aren't anything special but are young and dependable.

I'm glad they're praising this CB pairing, I could see both these guys playing a role in the future. Cameron hasn't done much yet, but that's because he hasn't had to. Parkhurst looks damn good.

Damnit Benny shoot that.

How about Jones right there, what a beast. If only he had been healthy for the World Cup, he was much better before his injury...

Okay Michael Parkhurst needs to be called up for the Italy friendly. If Gooch is the other guy back there, I'll take him over Bocanegra.

Educate me on your squad, USGAF. How many of these players could be considered for your main squad? Or is it a C-D team like Venezuela's?

2 already (Jones and Shea). Maybe a couple more could eventually make their way into the main squad and get a cap or two during qualifying.

This is a young group. Shea and Jones are A-teamers, and several of these guys are C or B-teamers looking to break into the A group. Feilhaber is sometimes a regular starter.
